Notes About The Poem

It is the TT (Tourist Trophy) races on our little Island and we have about 40,000 visitors to view the races. unfortuntately within 8 minutes of the road  being shut for practice there were reports that some silly person walked on the TT course on 'closed roads' (which is not only dangerous but illegal here) and I saw someone write a comment about a cockwomble - I had to google the word and then write a poem. 5/30/25

Cockwomble

Cockwomble – a word so absurd (‘twas written and not overheard) I adore this descriptive word for a fella who acts like a turd!

Cockwomble! I had never heard the word before. In reading the meaning you have given above, I believe there could be many such. I did giggle a little when I reached the end of the work. I knew quite a few people who this name would fit. It is a word to be remembered, Jan. Your friend always ..... Mike. XXX

What a strange word, but it certainly fits the anatomy of a wombler who's cocky! Acting the part of a turd is not difficult when his attitude is shiittteeee

yes you are correct jack the name derives from men (cocks) from Wimbledon and the wombles lived on the common and picked up litter. Hugs Jan xx

I never heard that word, either, Jan, but like the way you’ve described it very much!

I hadn't heard it until this week Ilene, but it is a perfect description especially as we have also had stupid people going the wrong way on the mountain and then having accidents. I'm just listening to the practices on the radio, i used to go and watch when hubby worked for the radio station but stick to the radio now! hugs jan xx
