Scrubbed

Lying on a truthful table;
  Clinging like three-day-old food
To pots,
Still scrubbing,
Oh, still scrubbing
Off debris --
You are to me,
A lie wrapped up in honesty.

Misty Morning

FOG LIKE PHANTOM STREAMS
misty beauty, white ravines
make mornings meaningful

Acacia arboretum hold fast
At the breaking before breakfast
The new day, old friends, egrets

Sledding times past
Linger into view
An adaptation,
A graduation,
Newness of goals foreseen,
"Two day old moon,
Tell of a journey's end,
Listen also if you May
I'll tell of odious ramblings..."

Lemon With Smell of Cheese

Lemon with smell of cheese and a sausage scented cake,
And the cheese which tastes like a three day old steak.
For such an exotics taste take my advice.
Just stop to wash a forks and spoons and knives!

How Are You Feeling Ii

How Are You Feeling? II

I feel purple.
As purple as a two day old bruise
As ominous as a purple thunderhead
As desolate as a starless purple sky
As out of sync
As the unrhyming word itself
Purple!

St Patrick's Day Blarney

On St. Patrick's Day, old boozehound Barney
Howls grand Gaelic airs at a pub in Killarney
Place a strong stout at his paw
And he'll howl Erin go braugh!
Yes, County Kerry folk are given to blarney!

3 Day Old Poem

A boy of 10 I only fished,

to bring one home for mother`s dish.

Became a man with drink and wished,

that getting tanked would catch me fish.

A Peep Into the Future

How bright the morrow is
beaming with lights of hope.
The worries of today stay with today.
Tomorrow is new and fresh
like a day old babe.
Glowing with glory
that set on wheels
the successes of the future.

Dancing In the Snow

I'm dancing in the snow
And the cold it doesn't hit me
Never mind I'm barefoot now
And the madness doesn't clothe me.

I'm happy-- ain't that something?
And this season I'm feeling joy
Belief is a treasure I'm gifted this year
And hope a day old boy.

Day Old Wax

Our sun
has a quirky little attitude
it says keep your distance
and I'll keep mine
I promise to keep you warm
but I'll trash that pretty blue eye
one day
our beloved sun will burn out
like a heroin dipped rock star,
or
birthday candle ignored
the earth will grow cold
as day old wax
and life will be no more

Dogs (Ode To)

i like dogs
but not cats you see
they get on my nerves
'cause they're just too finikee

Dogs like to play
and cats like top sleep
It's not hard to decide
which one to keep

I like to hear
the bark of a dog
not the meow of a cat
I'd rather have
chew'd up furniture
than hairballs resembling
a 3 day old dead rat!

Gentle Jimmy Drag Racer Darted In and Out of Danger-

Little Jimmy was a eight-teen-year-old wild teenager
He had a souped-up Dodge Dart and ate day old bagels
At the dark in the park he would race his Dodge Dart
Car went so fast it's sputtered sounds of flagellants-fart
Baroom-zoom-zooms out here drag racing in out of danger

At first I wondered
who are these old guys?

Inspiration then dawned
with the unyielding force
of a new day’s reality;
they are me!

I’ve gained no special options
apart from the others,
these fourth place winners,
of the Southeast Asian Team.

In their faces I see myself
as they sit wondering:
who are these old guys?

Banana Bread

Banana bread a favorite treat
A great snack that's fun to eat
Now as a good time to eat it
An the batter just gotta lick
No one can resist the smell
A oven baking banana bread thrills

Banana bread hot from the oven
Resistance never start shove'n
Eat it hot or eat it cold
A treat fresh or a day old
Do all a favor mash bananas for a bread to savor

Just Give Me a Few Minutes Here -

No! I ain't your ev'ry day old-fuddy-duddy
'Cause I know a dude who's my got-yer-back buddy...
Of course I don't NEED him (Please pardon my boast)
He's just extra butter on top of my toast...

You shall take a plunge 'ore the falls of Niagara
(After my appointment with Dr. Viagra)
With renewed vigor AGAIN it shall greet ya
(With a wee bit-a-help from Mr. Levitra)

Just Give Me a Few Minutes Here -

I'm not your ev'ry day old fuddy-duddy
I know a dude who's my got-yer-back buddy...

And I'll send you for a plunge 'ore the falls of Niagra
(After my appointment with Dr. Viagra)

Of course I don't NEED it (I don't mean to boast)
It's just extra butter on top of my toast...

Then with renewed vigor AGAIN it shall greet-ya

The Fallen

Au Revoir, or see you later
She said, eager at the door
She never thought from that time on
She'd see her child, no more
Her smiling face
Her sparkling eyes
She never will forget
Just one more hug
Just one last kiss
She'll live with the regret
A croissant and a coffee
A glass of wine or two
Good day old friend
How are you?
Their world then splits in two

Tryst

Yes, my darling, she whispers real low,
tenderly egging him on in the shadow
as on her ample and generous breasts
the lusty man greedily sucks and feasts.

Behind the door everything I overhear,
the sounds that the lovers make there;
blinded by wild rage the idiot barges in
and in a tryst I catch and startle them…

my unfaithful wife and our day-old baby boy!

Thursday Thoughts

Dating on the internet after the divorce, shopping in the EX-aisle.

There is more to having character than being one.

In Graffiti size does matter.

On awakening he walks the edges of consciousness seeking a cuppa coffee.

He sleeps uneasily, searching through “day old” dreams.

He crows loudly, an old rooster still ruffling feathers.

Lethally Close

.

Up close, the dove is such a lovely sight,
her eyes down to her beak outlined
by iridescent tinges of pale purple.

'Neath her wings, day-old chicks snuggle
like clumps of cottony clouds in summer
that has drifted too low in the nest.

Nearby, unseen, a snake coils motionless,
fangs poised to strike. But caravans of ants
stream out of its rotting eye sockets!

Micheal's Death

She escaped the night
on a wet soaked pillow.
Yesterday she wed,
and today her husband is dead.

Micheal was driving along the valley main road,
and his car crashed.
blood,
tears,
pain.

Missing hands,
Missing legs,
Micheal lies dead.
The beat in her womb barely one day old,
but the father is no more.

Alarmed
shock
distressed,
she wails over Micheal's death

Breakfast Last Night

We shared a breakfast late last night-

while sun was shining neath the moon.

Ate cornflakes off a cob held tight;

spread hotcakes with iced syrup strewn.

Made scrambled eggs- sunny side up-

cold catsup sizzling on the top-

Then poured fresh brew from day-old cup

made sweeter by sour lemon drop.

Night-Wind Melancholy

Reality is cold.

Wait thats poetry

 I mean cold is the
reality

Outside in a Indiana
winter moon,

Narcissist enjoying
my-day-old fatty
pain,

When Inspiration
hits you square in
the flesh.

Reality is, it’s
cold, exposed skin
it’s sting.

Eye’s burn dry from
fiery chill.

A Buddha second. Me
a week.

Noggin worried for
warmth.

Real time awakening

Reality is cold.

Winter

The frost sets in deep in my bones
I feel it gnawing at my soul.
It tells me that each time the wind blows
I grow another day old.
But it's the cold that ages me most
In summer i was beautiful
And i would wear floral perfumes
when the wind didn't play with my hair.
But now i'm distorted in my mirror
Crushed by the weight of the rain outside.
The cold tumbles upon my head
and i cannot see the sky.

Just Like That- Gone

Running wild
Through beds of rocks and stones
His voice echoes... 'Neath the mountain tops

Years gone by
Slimmed thin; his narrow bones
His arms, still trickling slowly downstream

Of man-stocked
No more reproduction
Like a blood transfusion...the trout swims

Just like that
Outliving you and I
One day, Old Man River...will be gone
