Texts From a Jealous Ex With Parenthetical Commentary From Me
She has everything you don't.
(we never had what they have)

Sleep is more important than me?
(it's 1 am & you're not my lover)

Why ask if you weren't interested?
(my father was missing & politeness)

I'm tired of trying.

Atheistic Logic- a Commentary
Atheistic logic

Atheist: I can believe the Devil exists, just look at all the evil in people today!

Believer: So then, using your logic, what does the good in people, obviously indicate?

Atheist: Nothing!

Premium Member The Law of Averages
In my humble experience I’ve found
The average individual is smarter
Than the average group
But the average group is stronger
Than the average individual
And so the group will always get its way
But the individual can usually figure out
How to stay free

Distortion
They kill for their namesake
Blinded with visions of righteousness
Mirrored with images of self
Sanctifying, with daggers plunging deep

Massed in fear, assembled in hatred
Adherence to dogmas of a farsighted kind
While master deceivers bloom like orchids...

To think in Italian's 'com-pu-ta-re'

At Pacman on extinct-squished Ataris...

a bottle of red tea on the opposite end
while a television glows out and into the concave
space of horshoe-shaped tables made for twenty
blue chairs and white linen cloth
and the old man wih a long grey beard
sits alone among the decor of clean
and bare cloth and plastic sounds
of in-between game commentary

Premium Member Commentary - Tsunami 2004
Though it’s man who makes war
And who murders his kind,
Who oppresses and rapes and enslaves,
The question of guilt’s not so clearly defined
As the dead wash ashore with the waves;
And I’m cold and I’m weary and worn to the core
As I struggle to search for the light,
And I think to myself as the waters recede,
Maybe God needs forgiveness tonight....

fall rain brings thunder...lightning?
San Francisco weird

Brian Johnston
November 9, 2015

Poet's Note:
In the Bay Area rain itself is unusual, but thunder and lightning are very rare here. On the other hand, gay people, strange political ideas (to you), super-rich people, and fashion absurdities are normal to us. Go figure! Ha!...

EMERSON EKPHRASIS
In words, the sign of natural
facts,far and wide his commentary
did abound.A few statements of
the particular,then a generalisation
profound.Nature,landscape and
Beauty, topics on which he was certain
and sure.A legacy of quotations,
for us to ponder,if not concur.

Premium Member Poetry Is Awful
Damn poetry is awful! I had to turn off that show on NPR when the poet got round to the line, "Literature is the ashes under the playground set" spoken in such earnest. If there was a god, poets who came up with lines like that would be stricken dead by multiple lightning bolts from a clear blue sky without enough of them left to scatter under the aforementioned playground set....

EKPHRASIS ENTERS

Light to light which illumes

as colour fills our eyes and enters

our mood.To trigger stark sensations

colour floats on white,yellow

blue and red in parallel luminous

blocks.This conceptual mirror

meticulous,yet of the common

place, a still life set free in

pervading symbols of the night.

The senses merge to become a

dialogue, a commentary in words...

The end

by Martin Braun

Commentary, I have no idea what style this is, but if you have a suggestion, please write a comment. The rules are simple.
1. Three lines, one stanza.
2. The first line introduces the subject.
3. The second line tells the story with three rhyming words.
4. The last line affirms the introduction and story....

Tears In the Rain
Tears in the rain

This lonely heart of mine
Has forever lived upon my sleeve
As a commentary to my life
As I watched the precious ones leave

Building walls to protect me
With my blood on every brick
Rarely venturing beyond them
For the fear....
Of the path that I may pick

When I’m standing in the darkness
Struggling with the pain
I watch my blackened tears
Disappear, into the rain...
