Premium Member Zany Zoo
Last time I visited the zoo
I chatted with Mama Kangaroo.
She worried that as she hopped about,
Her infant roo would tumble out.
So I lent her my tube of Crazy Glue....

Sorrow
i walked a mile with pleasure,
he chatted all the way;
and nothing did i learn
from all he had to say.
i walked a mile with sorrow;
never a word said he;
but, oh, the things i learned
when sorrow walked with me....

Dull Day
Today I woke up colorblind
My wake up call was gray
I shuddered at my purgatory
It shuddered the same way
I got up, found my state of ruin
We chatted over tea
It dug into my heavy heart,
My soul it seeked to glean
A shame I woke up colorblind
And tomorrow I will too
For I miss the loving shades of green
Of yellow and of blue
...

Premium Member Steffi Graf's Autograph
I went to the zoo to feed a giraffe
Brought some chocolates to the staff
Chatted and had a good laugh
Told them my dream was to meet Steffi Graf
See if I could obtain her autograph
And beg her for a photograph
So I’d print a humongous lithograph
‘Top tennis pro’ as epigraph

For the Memories
I used to wander through the olive groves
in the days when I was younger
sitting outside in the shade to eat
while Granddad chatted in the street
familiar words not quite understood
I stayed all summer just because I could
swimming in the beautiful Aegean sea
I was as happy as I could be
memories of those days gone by
I look at the old photo's -with a sigh....

Premium Member Hearts In My Eyes Whilst I Sit and Wait
I'm in a secret garden
Happening upon a book called Lost Words
My favourite spells within
Are Dandelion and Lark
I chatted to a dress designer
The pictures in the book fill my brain
As I now sit quietly
Imagining dresses covered in Ravens
The walls tell me of toadstools in pretty frames
This sitting and waiting suits my mood

*Waiting outside a children's party room...

Premium Member I Recall Your Face
I've started being able to recall your face
Which isn't always the case with me.
I've been known to fail to recognise
Someone I've chatted to for hours!

But my fingers feel again the texture of your skin
Your eyes startle me with sudden blueness
And the straight-lined mouth unfolds
To make me also smile.

Your head inclines; does it really
Mean that I have touched you?...

Premium Member The Preacher's Kids
We were preacher’s kids in a little Georgia town,
And knew more Bible verses than anyone around.
It was hell, fire, and brimstone three times a week,
Sitting on the pew trying not to make a peep.

If we chatted in church Dad would surely frown,
And point his finger to silence us down.
Hoping he would forget when we got back to the house,
The rest of the service we were as quiet as a mouse!...

Skatepark
The Skatepark
One day we met at skatepark
On our skateboards we rolled away
The things we had to say,
We chatted about our lives
Our triumphs and our love for skatebording
Little did we know
We would let our feelings show,
In each other we have grown to care
To each other we are always there,
I am so that glad we met
At the park on our skatebords
We have a friendship that is true,
I am thankful that I met you....

Premium Member Hellfire Gala - Captain America and Doctor Doom
After the fireworks,
Doctor Doom and Captain America had a little chat.
It was at a desolate place,
And they chatted here and there for this and that.

Doom noted that they are both the faces
of their respective nations.
While cap reminisced
about his long icy vacation.

Then there was talk about the Moon landing
and the significance of Mars
But more so about a better tomorrow
as they gazed upon the stars...

No Smoking
I inhaled a lungful of cigarette smoke,
While waiting for the number nine,
I coughed so much I thought I’d choke.
The woman ignored the no smoking sign;
It served her right if she got a heavy fine.

Another man asked her to stop
And said his lungs deserved fresh air,
He raged so much I feared he’d drop;
But she chatted to someone who wasn’t there,
And looked at the man with a vacant stare.

It's You Tonight
At this PC screen I stare

Knowing your out there some where

remembering the days we chatted

I felt like on my back you patted

Really still don't know you at all

Still you came along when I thought I'd fall

Giving me the most pleasant of dreams

And a friend so it would seem

I will never push you because you'll know when it's right

But there's no doubt it's you I am thinking about tonight!

Saint Patrick Party
Tonight my friends and I wore green,
In mock accents recited limericks seen,
Listened to Celtic music serene,
And polished our Irish dinner plates clean.

Then gambled and chatted away the night,
Finding high betting penny ante Tripoley a delight.
Amiable banter and teasing the highlight,
A relaxing evening as we reunite.

Hope your holiday did satisfy,
That good company did drop by.
With much merriment before their goodbye.

Premium Member Alone
The darken theater held them there they sat
she looking down and he looked out together
neither spoke, they came together but alone.

So many married years had passed each more alone.
She looked down and chatted on her phone, he sat
near me, we starred toward the movie together.

They never knew how sad they looked together
but all could see, and none envy, two alone.
I shook my head and sat silent as they sat,

side by side, they sat together, but alone.

Premium Member I Spoke To a Homeless Woman
While I stood in line
In a pastry shop
Ahead of me was a -
Homeless woman
She stared at the selection
Inside the showcase
Deciding her choice
We chatted in line
She said" Life is hard
to beg for some coins"
She bought a hot drink
Then a small snack
So before she left
I heard her voice
She called out to me
She wished me well
Smiled and went her
       way
It seemed I made her day
She was pleased we spoke
I spoke to a homeless woman
Our day was special
To the both of us...
