I Spoke To a Homeless Woman

While I stood in line In a pastry shop Ahead of me was a - Homeless woman She stared at the selection Inside the showcase Deciding her choice We chatted in line She said" Life is hard to beg for some coins" She bought a hot drink Then a small snack So before she left I heard her voice She called out to me She wished me well Smiled and went her way It seemed I made her day She was pleased we spoke I spoke to a homeless woman Our day was special To the both of us

Hi Darlene, I had an encounter one Christmas with a homeless young man. He didn't know I was watching him, but he carried all his belongings in a hockey bag he draped over one shoulder. He was sitting on the floor, outside the City Market, playing a Christmas song on a child's xylophone. Nickels and dimes for his next meal. For some, life is hard. We take so much for granted, don't we? By the way, thanks for stopping in to review "Invisible Diners". Much appreciated!

Hello Sand Blown, It does not hurt to be kind to the homeless people. Have you commented on the 50 poems? Have you noticed that the poetry is not numbered? How does one keep track of were they left off? I do not know where i left off. They should have left the numbers alone.

It isn't often that people talk to them as human beings, so often people try to avert their eyes, and that must hurt. I am sure you made her day. Lovely sharing, thank you.
