My little town

Once quiet streets, Where we played and ran, Now truck and cars hum with noise, I miss the peaceful city lost in time span. The playgrounds we knew, Now full of houses of bricks and stone, Our favorite old oak tree, Where we sat and chatted is long gone. Shops replaced, By towering heights, The stars we watched, Lost to city lights. Though growth has come, And time moves fast, The little town, Still holds my past.

Times are not changing for the better. I wish I had seen this town, but now it's too late. This is a lovely poem.

I too feel the same when I think of my house and its premises. How changed it is now from the time we came to occupy it some thirty five years back. Then it was so quiet and on one side of the road, there were paddy fields. Through the road, now and then a few vehicles used to pass. Now with the roar of traffic, life has become dreary and the paddy fields are filled and huge structures have come up. I can so well relate to your sense of loss. A lovely poem.
