I Recall Your Face

I've started being able to recall your face Which isn't always the case with me. I've been known to fail to recognise Someone I've chatted to for hours! But my fingers feel again the texture of your skin Your eyes startle me with sudden blueness And the straight-lined mouth unfolds To make me also smile. Your head inclines; does it really Mean that I have touched you?

I too am struck by interplay of touch, feeling, cognition, and recognition. I think Jung said "all cognition is akin to recognition" which doesn't feel that far off from all verbal thoughts follow recognizing feelings, at least in my mind and body. And thanks for your "heart-breaking" therapeutic comment on Superior Judge.

Thanks, Linda. That's how I felt about it, too. I was worried that it was too slight to send, but glad I did when I see your response. Elizabeth

Enjoyed (I wish I could remember faces as easily as I remember breasts)! Aloha!

I guess it depends on what exactly you were looking at! and what reaction you were expecting! Elizabeth

Elizabeth, you have constructed a stanza that is both intriguing and meaningful. Despite how odd it may sound, there are times when we run across people whose features are recognizable but we're unable to remember their actual names.

As I've got older, this has become more of a problem. Fortunately, my next door neighbor has red curly hair and a beagle so no mistakes there! Elizabeth

Strange but occasionally we meet some familiar faces but do not recall their name.

Hmm. My worst was a push on my shoulder from behind at JFK as I flew in from Australia. I couldn't imagine who would do that- It was my sister who I only recognized when she spoke! Elizabeth
