Gift of Life

Bundled up package,
Awaiting soils minerals;
Beauty trapped in seeds.

Refuge

A thick smog, none alike.
Where thoughts dwell
bundled up tight.

An intruding sight
holding its ground.
No longer safe and sound.

laughter of children playing in the winter’s snow seasonal delight, bundled up in heavy coats sledding down the steep hillside.

Bundled up huddled up
                and
                     rosy cheeked
                my wooly-capped son and I
    listen to the bell-runner's song
                             beneath a lowering sky

Bundled up, looking fit as a snowman
Those brutal cold days late in December
Caroling to buy gifts for my siblings
I wonder, do my siblings remember

Premium Member Gelid Winter Winds-Ws

Gelid winter winds
are creating drifts of snow
The perfect time for sledding

Trying to keep warm
I bundled up in woolens
And... played for hours in the cold

Haiku Snowflake

Snowflakes are falling,

white is all around your feet,

diamonds from the sky.

Make a snow angel,

chilly from your head to toe,

a winter imprint.

bundled up so well,
\
head home to have some coco,

winter has arrived.

Dose of My Heart

Fall must be at its cool end
Cause you're bundled up in clothes
I can't help but chuckle
When all I see is your nose
And yet you still shiver
I'll hold you in close
With my arm on your shoulder
I'll give you a dose
Of my heart's true warmth
That'll never be disposed

       last evening bundled up
               'round mine
            it's peacock blue
                   warm
              cotton serape

                 and your
                  neath it
                   tuck'd

Frozen Woodland

Its winter time
Everything is frozen with ice
Children are skating on the pond
Their noses are red and so are their faces
Fingers and toes are cold
People are bundled up in hats, scarves, jackets, sweaters and snow pants
But the main thing is that there is a sense of happiness in the air

Premium Member The Fragile Snow

The snow is falling gentle and fragile
the air is frosty but I am all bundled up
we know how to dress for the cold in Canada
why do the little birds not mind the snow
they chirp a joyful song and move together as one
and on a window ledge pigeons fold their wings

Premium Member Tongue Tied

For the winter carnival bundled up,
frozen breath adds to anticipation;
Steaming cappuccino filling my cup,
the vertex of this warm celebration;
Eliminate the need to be grown-up,
tonight enjoy a childhood fixation;
Indulge yourself in a ferris wheel ride,
an event leaving you all but tongue-tied.

Frozen Hearts

two walk hand in hand
down the frozen streets.
couples in their home warmed by fires,
but the two bundled up so close, yet so far, selfishly holding back their warmth.
no room for the energy to pass through gloved hands.
and so they walk, not feeling how their souls ripped apart and the last of their love fading.

Premium Member Sledding

Perfect sledding snow fell last night,
Children woke to a ground of white
Mid-March, of course, a novel sight,
Quickly they bundled up real tight
For a fine day of pure delight.

March

The first two months we tromp and plod
Or trudge or slog or shuffle
While bundled up, accompanied
By cough or sneeze or snuffle.

But now the calendar has turned
And so our pace increases.
Think Sousa and start moving with
Your ear turned towards his pieces.

In other words, drop all that starch:
Today begins the month of MARCH!

Eraser

Inside of an eraser
Are thousands of mistakes
All bundled up into one, ginormous pink glob

It sits on desks and waits
For more mistakes
To join the party

Eventually the pink glob
Wears away into tiny bits
And the mistakes go everywhere

Then the cycle starts over again
THe mistakes join together
And a new eraser is formed.

Dream

Yes I am dying
As are we all
While times feet dance
On my beaten bones

And though it is winter
The sun still shines
While the stars flicker silently
In a moonless sky

Bundled up warmly
In my winters best
I sit on my rocker
In the crisp cold air

With a young boys dreams
Of the summers past
And how warm the nights
Had once been

Premium Member thats me thats me

He was waiting for a promised letter from his Auntie Bea.
He bundled up and ran to the mailbox to check and see.
She always included something special for her favorite nephew.
As he ran toward his destination, his excitement grew.
That’s me! That’s me! His brother said, but it was him instead.
He admired the confidence of baby bro, Little Munchkin Ed.

Doing Duties

Brisk winter air has settled in
I venture into my back yard
Grab a rake and pile up leaves
To be burned, with disregard

As I set torch to said fallen
I reflect on a job well done
Something assuredly needed
Now who's the responsible one?

Holiday spirit surrounds me
Bundled up in my attire
I feel the warmth, I see the glow
Oh no! My pants are on fire!

A Poke

The calendar says April
But it’s winter once again,
Although the bulbs are up and bears
Have likely left the den.

I bundled up to take my walk
With scarf and gloves and hood,
Not attired for the season
As I would have thought I should.

It’s a poke by Mother Nature,
A reminder we should not
Get complacent for what we expect
Might not be what we’ve got.

Losing Love

All bundled up
And locked inside
As fear kicks in
To join the ride

As I'm alone
I curse this dream
It locks me up
Laughs at my screams

I live in fear
And dread the night
When all i see
Black in my sight

In the abyss
Something that's seen
As fear partakes
It glares at me

My life gone mad
When i realized
There is no love
In my lovers eyes
