A Poke

The calendar says April But it’s winter once again, Although the bulbs are up and bears Have likely left the den. I bundled up to take my walk With scarf and gloves and hood, Not attired for the season As I would have thought I should. It’s a poke by Mother Nature, A reminder we should not Get complacent for what we expect Might not be what we’ve got.

With temperatures in the seventies last week, I thought we would finally bid farewell to winter's cold. That has not been the case these last two days. Good write as usual, Ilene.

I just received the Fort Apache Scout with a front-page photo of snow falling at an Apache Puberty Rite, so I suspect that is on its way to you! Take care! Aloha! Rico

True enough. New England is like a magician with sleights of weather. Right now most spring flowers are in bloom like forsythia, though botanically not a true flowering shrub. Like you, when I take walks, I dress warmly. And I never take New England at its word or the weatherman. / Maurice

We've had the same here Ilene, yesterday was like a summers day and today is the opposite with more wintry weather to come. Mother nature rules lol Tom
