Premium Member Painting of Grapes

Whoever painted these lifelike grapes could also paint blueberries
I lean into the canvas to see if grapes have a smell
They look real enough to pluck out
An old master’s touch

Premium Member Why I Eat Berries

Blueberries discourage diabetes and heart disease
red raspberries can protect you from cancer
blackberries help prevent gum disease
But I eat them because they are baked into a delicious pie.

Premium Member Breakfast Holiday

Roll over with messy hair,
Celebrate, watch the sunrise;
Cinnamon coffee on ice;
An easy acoustic song
wake me with your perfect voice;
Blueberries and swollen lips,
take a breakfast holiday.

Premium Member Evidence Of Spring

Down where the privet hedge's buds are white There are green blueberries upon verdant bushes They are all chilled by low temperatures at night While amaryllis' buds through earth pushes

Premium Member Out-Running Time

Blueberries, nuts, assorted fruits
Spinach, kale, and vegetable roots
One glass of Cabernet each night
Walk, then meditate--get it right
Running from aging, you can see
Alas, time has caught up with me!

Groupie

she wanted something that sunglasses couldn’t see
and the first taste I could give her
of what her eyes were looking for
was something like a silver jet flyin’
carryin’ blueberries
‘cross the sky
to her favorite rock star

Green Thumb

With green fingers the gardener worked
Hence the garden thrived and perked,
Ironically when blueberries collected
Thumbs were stained from fruit selected.

adding chocolate milk and three sugars to my coffee
If there is cool whip, that goes in too
I do not “do” plain.

A Summer Poem

In solitary bloom --
Mid afternoon that day
I stood at the doorway
For a moment in time
I was a small child
Enraptured by wild
Flowers and gentle breeze
Serenity of these
Watered blueberries and
Green grass with white fences
Tickling my senses

Allergic

Blueberries
Strawberries
I can eat those
Dandelion
Flower pollen
My nose can tolerate those
I don't know why I am so inclined
to not be disturbed by these things that can cause pain and strife
but I found out today that I am allergic to things going right

Premium Member Lizard Loves Blueberries

Lizard was slurping down his blueberry in the most luscious way.
Making lovely trickling down the face noises on this happy Monday.
I had never seen anyone else enjoy blueberries as much as this guy.
By the time he finished snatching up blueberries, I had to cancel the pie.

Premium Member Chippy and Chipper

Chippy and Chipper, playing in my yard; a hoard of blueberries surround tiny hole near my garage door; Chipper pops out and lightening dashes for my pear trees... a pause says, "hello"... the foraging resumes and the morning ritual has begun.

Premium Member Babs Bonnie and Barry

Bouncy bountiful blustery buxom Babs
Brought Bossy Bonnie beautiful blueberries
Bonnie baked Babs’ brother blueberry bisque
Bashful Barry bet Babs that Bossy Bonnie believed
Barry could become her beleaguered boyfriend
Babs bellowed beautifully, because she believed it too.
