Summer Fruit

scarlet strawberries
ripe and ready for picking ...
a taste of summer

I picked my first 4 strawberries today, the raspberries and blueberries are ripening too ... it is going to be a bumper crop this year!

Nothing like fresh homegrown strawberries when compared to those commercial imposters they stock at the markets – hard, juiceless, lacking sweetness! And, yes, texting and driving don't mix, but even the elderly are as dumb as the young people. Thanks for the comment, Jan. / M

I picked more today, the crop will be massive ... I just hope they don't all ripen at once. As for texting or using a mobile at the wheel I wish they would prosecute and fine more people as the trend is continuing at an alarming rate and I agree it is both young and old who are breaking the law. My phone is a dinosaur - text and calls and it takes ages to text its not predictive text. I have it on silent when I'm driving... not that I can drive at the moment with a broken finger, still too sore and lack of movement and grip - start physio on weds so am hoping things will improve:-) hugs jan xx

Wow! My next door neighbours have only just come into flower, along with a few blackberry blooms... Lucky you. Ooops just noticed the classification as haibun, no prose, just a haiku, a good one too! hugs Mick

I have them with sliced bananas but after a few weeks I get fed up to the back teeth with picking and eating them lol:-) I am saving lots of containers so I can give them away to friends:-) hugs Jan xx
