Piteous As Piety
Conception of a bloodstained cross
Can be perceived a threshold loss,
As piteous as piety
When rage of age destroys its gloss
And ends a dismal dynasty....

Jacob and Joseph
Dark pit, deep and lonely
Rainbow coat, ripped, now only
A shred of bloodstained
Rags in an old man’s hand
Mourning for his favourite son
Alive in another far land....

Red Clouds
Red clouds, bloodstained, a warning! Innocent
souls forever lost in vain, abhorrent!
Never learned, natures life's arbitrator.
Red clouds for Jack, nature, his life counsellor!...

familiar weight of bloodstained sabre
hanging in a pilfered scabbard

Evil Kiss-
Evil kiss
Unforgiveness unrests in peaces
Tearish things soulless soul
We shall depart torn
Bloodstained the shadow fades embrace
Hiking peak lower front teeth
Subliminal hiss
Brutal human face
Brisk

Boot Hill
Never-ending bloodstained boots tossed on top
of the growing mound of vignettes
around so many young men
seeking a name to boast
courageous conquests
facing the best
gunfighters
just to
die
NB: A nod to Robert Hinshaw and his poem ‘A Stroll Through Boot Hill Cemetery’....

Smeared
I came upon a
blood smeared road
Of flesh and skin
and crushed bone
I collected the vision
of what it could be
Piecing together
deaths mystery
The town appeared
shovel in hand
Scraped the remains
threw down sand
I said a simple prayer
For the bloodstained smear

Allah and the Profit
ISIS-K blew up a girls' school*
al-Qaida claim flogging is cool
No girl is worth
A clump of earth
Wherever the Taliban rule
Jihadists strive to be lanky
To decapitate a Yankee
If Allah were judge
Would He prefer fudge
To another bloodstained hanky?
*whilst school was in session!...

Secret Lover - Four Lines Contest
Her bloodstained wedding dress clings to her shaking body
On the floor his corpse lies in a pool of congealing blood
He’d revealed his secret, he was in love with the best man
It was meant to be the happiest day of their lives…

Glimmer of Hope
Conception kept secret from all was her will
Piteous youth just unlucky naught imbecile
On the dismal threshold of despair and heartaches
Bloodstained rugrat born into poverty and shame till
Suckling infant in her arms maternal love suddenly awakes

Blessedness
Writing Challenge - B Word
WRITTEN: 1/28/23
BLESSEDNESS
Your blessedness and bouquet gift of bougainvilleas
leaves me breathless
the beautiful and beloved butterfly bereaved
and brokenhearted sees humanity lying lifeless
on the bloodstained dying fields of greed
the perpetrator’s brouhaha will die with their arrogance
without blessedness...

The threshold of my life is dark and bleak,
Dismal dreams haunt me,peace is all I seek.
Bloodstained covers are wrapped around me,
My piteous life is nothing at all, so too speak
I loathe my conception, darkness is all I see
1.) piteous
2.) bloodstained
3.) threshold
4.) conception

I Certainly Put My Foot In It - Halloween Boo
I went out to trick or treat
wearing fake bloodstained hands and feet
Soon I began to get prickly heat
So I jettisoned them in the street
The finder went as white as a sheet
Then dropped dead with no heartbeat
Now I’m feeling like dead meat
How could I be so indiscreet!

The Children's Stain
Social justice sat
Poised before
The tribunal of the wise.
No not,
One voice of the socially
responsible echoed.
The avenue of cultural reforms?
Silent!
The cup of tears
Drowning the dreams of the weary.
Mothers exiled to hopelessness.
Dread resonates speechless fury.
Broken and a desperately riddled
heart of distrust.
Memoirs of a bloodstained culture...

Rape and Ruin
Bloodstained carpets
Bloodstained bed
Everything is oh so red
Dying dying dying dead
Everything is oh so red
Tears of blood
and tears of gold
everything is growing cold
Love on wings
of silver silk
trampled on the floor
whom is that knocking
death is at the door
Bloodstained carpets
Bloodstained bed
Everything is oh so red
Dying dying dying dead
Everything is oh...so...dead...

One Last Breath
She seeks no salvation for those who have scorned her,
Crimsion are the color of the eyes that hold her fate.
Unforgiven are thoes who see no future,
Soulless are they.
Hungry the devil laps her bloodstained flesh,
Devouring every drop of her essence.
Angrily she begs him to stop,
And yet they lie together upon searing sheets.
Too weak she is to stop them,
From stealing one last dying breath....

The Rise of a Blood Stained Phoenix
I plummet to the earth,
Like a meteor.
With head still pointed,
Towards the heavens that shine in the sky.
Body and soul raved by the fall.
And
Yet I still rise out of the rubble,
Like a phoenix with bloodstained wings.
I look towards the heavens in the sky once more,
Then I fly higher and higher with,
More determination than ever.
For if heavens won’t come to me,
Then I will simply soar towards them....

Upon My Journey
With time it grew taller and stronger
the harder I tried, the harder it was.
21 years and counting, knowledgeable in my days
I just can't do it, plummet to eternity
chasing a noose the plummet has ended.
So what is it really I've done so wrong?
Bloodstained pain pierced my naked body.
Swearing me to pitiful tears, I knew what had come
and beginning with my last step
I thank God for saving my life....

I do not know?
Dirty Footprints
Awe-and-shock parachute soldiers,
storm trooper boots hitting the ground
Death drones in search-and-destroy
hive imperative mode
Mission imprinted
in their instinct driven
war souls
Bloodstained boots
treading
on sacred ground,
which the holy prophets walked on
Dirty footprints in the sands of time
God, who sees all,
will make the final judgment call
Remove thy shoes,
before it is too late
to choose...

Dramatic Verse
To Destroy, To Build
mortally wounded, a soldier writhes,
crawls bloody on the bloodied earth
behind a boulder, a sniper takes aim again
to finish off a task so bereft of mirth
as worker ants lug hefty loads around lumps
of earth and boulder splinters
to rebuild an anthill crushed by bloodstained
boots of the slain and the slayers....

Diamond Hearts
Soft like a pillow of cotton,
tactile like a rose against skin,
cherished like the most rarest silk;
many things create an image of
comfort.
Bright like stars in the midnight
sky,
hidden like the most precious
of jewels,
secret like the unspoken whispers
of humanity;
images of peace are untouched by
bloodstained ways.
Inert like stone,
strong like steel,
diamond hearts are forever created
but lost like melting snow in the
summer sun....

Worth the Read
I have bookshelves of heartache
that I haven't written yet,
bloodstained pages of regret
that I haven't found words for,
a pen that always runs out of ink
in the most inopportune of moments.
Leaving me breathless in a storm of quiet,
thunderous discontent.
Everyone has a story;
I'm still stitching this one together,
one stanza at a time.
I only hope, after all of this..
It will be worth the read.

On a Chain
On a chain around my neck, the cross I seldom wear.
Not made of wood or bloodstained from Jesus bloody hair.
It doesn't show the holes from nails that pierced His hands,
nor the scrapes from being dragged on that dusty land.
I cannot hear the sound of Jesus when He cried for me and you,
"Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do..."
I took the shiny cross off, it doesn't suit my taste.
Put on the whole armour of God, Eph:6:11-18, in it's place....
