it is always
the in-betweens that matter

the digestion,
the separation

pre-starting or ending

it is what isolates the meaning

In Betweens
The fading flowers remind me
of just how short life really is.
For just in a second it seems
 we are conceived and born
 age and mature.
In a moment we live and love
 then grow old and die.
It is the in betweens
that mold us and make us
who we are....

In Between
In Between

Somewhere in my thoughts today
I sit and wonder and I pray!
I pray for a little girl I met so innocent and warm,
I hope that someday she will meet someone whose is strong.
Strong enough to know and do for her what is the best
And pray for all in betweens that we can never guess....

Vegetales Five
corn grew up on the cob
got gnawed off by the gob
In a shack
way out back
cob had a job wiping glob

corn got thrown in the can
cob got tossed by the man
then big fat hogs
gobbled cob logs
and turned ‘em into ham

What the? Wadda ya know.
The labels now read GMO
corn and beans,
and in betweens
all mutate more than they grow...

Fast Writers
I don’t know how they do it
How do they write so fast
My writing goes so slowly
I sometimes feel outclassed

I’ve time and lots of talent
And inspiration too
But something must be wrong
I don’t know what to do

I’ll sit here for a while
My thoughts not quite connecting
Good starts, good ends, good in betweens
Not used, simply collecting...

Premium Member Switching On the Light
each room bright
well lit I find
myself switching off
a light that’s not on
it’s off it’s bright
feast to the sight
walls are textured white
the moon looms
when the brightness dims
on shadowed limbs
outside-in and inside-out
and upside-down the lids
close and darkness hearkens
dreams and nightmares
and in betweens
til morning sits up
in its time and frolics
in my stead...

Hands On
This world experience
is an on-going story
with no hands writing it.

There are no hands but yours.
Imagination needs fingers
if it is to shape an idea,
and thought needs a glove
to become its reality.

In the end, there is no beginning,
in the beginning there is no end,
all in-betweens are a fiction.

That which cannot be said in words
will forever exist.

God has no words for you
but:

I AM....

With Envy Do I Climb
How I begrudge the eyes of all these men:
To whom the balcony has pledge in time,
An envy which befits this grasping vine
Whilst shaking its temptation joining them.
The far betweens of having found it hard
To cut it down in turn eludes this love,
That I, cannot indeed be before you guard
Whose arm is severed less from you above.
Then let it be, that new vines do exist
While futures' looking bright, I shall persist....

Rules and Balance and the In-Betweens
Define regularity.
Yes, thank you.
Regularity- that which is seen. But only in daylight.
When the lights go out
Rules follow quickly after, tripping
 On heels belonging to legs
Owned by logic.
Structure-
Though craved will not be sought.
The masses are dead, though some are only dying
Those babes sleeping in cradles of doubt
Hanging on in a short and silent time.

For that which cannot be bought.
Was once treasured but now forgot....

Premium Member In This Old House Dwell Spirits
In this old house
Dwell spirits
Moving from here to there
Quickly and quietly
Without form
As to not disturb the air

Some spirits are of the living
Some spirits are of the dead
From generations past
And from the future
And from in-betweens
They fare

The spirits move
Into Walls and halls
Floors and doors
Windows
Looking out
And looking in

For few outsiders can see them
Or know them
For when inside
They are out
And when outside
They are in...

There must be always
Room for wild and free humor
Laughing at ourselves...

We do cry enough
Trying to better ourselves
In this journeying

Living together
This magnificent planet
Manifesting dreams

Beyond what we know
All, curious, within dreams
Searching for what's real.

So the days do pass
Perhaps Nature too, learning...
Higher Self-being.

Find comfort in this
Skirting Chaos like we do...
Better than Nothing....

Good Grief! Would you just look at that!
That elephant sat right on my new hat!
He belongs to the man who lives next door,
Says he bought him at an elephant store.
They have big ones, small ones, and in-betweens,
This one just happens to be bright green.
They have red ones, blue ones and some with spots,
They even have one with pink polka-dots!
As for my poor hat, guess I won’t have a fit….
I’ll just thank goodness I wasn’t in it!!!

Betweens
Between here and there lies a thousand steps
Between 1 & 2 lies uncountable fractions
Between you and I lies 7 billion people
Between love and hate lies a couple of other emotions
Between friends and more than friends lies a little more love...
I've lived on in my moment between
Hoping to never meet my end
But that's just me and my wishful thinking
If everyone else would learn to live
In between moments...
Loss wouldn't have a face of her own...

It's Actually Love
The rain falls,
Between these dark halls.
It slides down,
With a glistening beauty unknown.
As These dim corridors seal me in,
In With you and your silky skin.
I try to conceal myself from you,
But I can’t because you’re the one that makes my red heart feel blue.
The one I see myself marrying with,
And fading with.
This isn’t a poem,
It’s my heart speaking, and hoping a love between us will stem.
Stem in betweens these darks halls that we roam....

Shirt and Jeans
The clean shirt and denim jeans
No more in-betweens, just me
No more hiding it inside
A rough ride, but I am free
Stepping out and coming out
Too long shouting in the dark
Today is it, can’t go back
Their flack belongs in the ark
Head high with pride, standing tall
It took my all to do this
The past is left far behind
It’s time to find what life is
No regrets, I’ve done all I can
And now it’s time to be a man

Void
There is that momentary pause
a second or two locked in hidden space,
 darkness, calling out from somewhere
 lapses of the uninhabitable reality
 in the in-betweens;
we cannot help but enter in
 escaping what lay behind
 what waits ahead
 all that haunts the now
 the blank void that is nullified;
the quiet stillness
 of emptiness here,
 the chasmed abyss of nothing
 the journey into lost time
 over there, beyond.

Premium Member My Treasure
Each snowflake falling on your face
A frozen raindrop is
Each one that lands upon your lips
A cool, refreshing kiss

From me to you though not in view
In spirit I am there
In thoughts and dreams and in betweens
I'm with you everywhere

Think of me, our thoughts will meet
And hold hands in the sky
Somewhere up there beyond all care
We'll down a rainbow slide

And in a pot of gold we'll land
There's many a dubloon
Take them all, to me that's small
You alone would be my boon...
