Contest "An Haiku From Your Window
Our Mayor begged and he pleaded
But he never once succeeded
He thinks he's so grand
But can't understand
Our Baker wants to feel kneaded
Eve said than an apple a day
Will keep all the doctors at bay
The butcher and baker
Continued to make her
'Til Adam came home with some pay!

There was a fat baker called Bill
whose store stood high on a hill
he lived down below
and when it would snow
he slid on a tray for a thrill.
Willy Whipple was a bread baker
Whose wife thought him a faker.
She called his bread awful
Comparing it to offal.
So Willy did up and forsaker.
Mr. Sherlock Holmes
has by now studied a good many forensic tomes
as much as they matter
elementary that Watson should ponder every blood splatter.

once a breadmaker named peas
his shop it smelled of stale cheese
so patrons complained
and a court arraigned
he'd open after a breeze.
The pi that’s of math has its day,
But that of the baker, no way.
Though both are quite round,
Less merit is found,
In pies that in stomachs do lay.
Artists dabble in shades and hues
Authors express their sundry views
Troubled souls take to darkling woods
The baker smiles ~ 'twas sweet and good
There was young “lady" of Chester
Who not only dated a jester
But also and baker n' smith
whom she all liked to kiss
she's known as the great man-molester
Baker Bob brought breakfast biscuits
To big, bad Bennie Barker's bed.
Bob believes, sadly, that Ben behaves badly
Because Barbara Barker rarely bakes bread.

What’s in man that makes him go
Is it the satisfaction of the craftsman
Or the drive for more dough
Ask the baker ~ He may just know
Her hand in my hair and
our bodies now
slowly drifting apart,
while Chet Baker plays,
she says:
We love like the dust
and the hairline
cracks
in old mirrors.
There once was a baker who loved to boast
about his bakery down by the coast.
But the bakery burned down
and he exclaimed with a frown,
Now all of my business is toast!
Lennie was a Hen-pecked pastry baker
Who told His wife He might forsake Her.
She nagged and was grossly obese.
He wanted it to quickly cease.
Whereupon He frosted Her Half-acre.
Baker better than Pilsbury.
Looks similar to Chante Moore in youth.
Forever faithful. Love everlasting.
The good woman looked you in the eyes for all these years.
Did you notice?

Where are the Bakers of Poetry Soup?
I miss their energy and the queen’s haikus
I hope all is well let me visit their page
For no response from soup mail I made
Bill and Sara are you ok?
she is
an ever-glowing
pink rose
in winter
with
sun-kissed
petals
her diamond
quill flickers
gold across
the cosmic
canvas
of soupers
