How
An aspirin helps heal a headache,
and lysol kills some germs,
but how do you save a sinner,
if sin his heart yearns?...

Headache
Walking misery,
headaches here,
aspirin needed,
relief is near.
Turn off the lights,
now be real quiet,
soon, yes soon,
everything will be all right....

Broken Promises Become Broken Hearts
You promised you wouldn't leave but
Here we are my wrists are scarred
And you're far away. Clawing away a
Piece of myself everyday I'm left with
Numbness. Shaking my hands as if I
Could call you back to me.
Headaches born of tears, maybe I'll try
And get rid of them with a bottle of
Aspirin....

Peace love and hope
Said brother, kick the dope
I might have relapsed a time or two
But never thought I’d kick the booze
Was love so misguided that I
Sought peace in a semi-permanent
Disillusionment and drunken haze
And hope that there was still
An aspirin on the floor
And beer left for a hangover cure...

Groan Mornings and Aleve, Sometimes
We always have enough choice
When a new day begins
To complain of pain, or give voice
To hope, mother that wins?

I did not give in to Mr. Groan
In USA I bought ALEVE (when pain had grown)
Magic in a pill, borrowed from Aspirin
I now have tonic drops in milk (south African)

FACT: the tonic told me by WENDOLENE is: BALSEM KOPIVA...

The esoteric couple had a night on the town.
And, wow, they were so totally wasted.

Neither aspirin nor Alka-Seltzer, will ever
Repair the health, that both lambasted.

Nor would any marijuana do the trick!
Those fools even tried potent Thai-Sticks?

Now down at our local pub
I noticed McGee at the bar
So I pulled up a chair, A bit unaware
That he was a bit under par

He said to me "Last night,
I tried to take me own life
I wanted to end my misery
In this world full of struggle and strife

So, I started to take a thousand pills,
and wash them down with wine
but after the second aspirin
I started to feel just fine...

What is the point in life that causes us so much strife why dont we all just end our lives
a bullet to the brain would do it an aspirin to the heart would surely stop it I just cant
fathom to think a better way than to end the pain and what more pain can the afterlife
bring yet my children who will wipe away my children s tears for i am like a god in there
eyes and what if god committed suicide...

How To Catch a Cold
How To Catch A Cold

Wait until nightfall
When all is quiet
And you are alone in your room
With the cold
Sneak up on it
In the dark
With a Sherman tank
Don’t make a sound!
Take a sling filled with aspirin
Without noise
Prepare the walls with vapor-rub and love
As you move slowly around the room
Slip a pill down its throat
Pray that it stays there
While you lift it lightly
Into a box marked for colds...

I Never
I Never...

I never do the dishes
I never clean my room
I never take the trash outside
I never push a broom
I never take forever to pick out what to wear
I never take an aspirin
I never have to share
I never say I'm lazy or wear too many hats
I never care what people say
because I am a cat.

The Plastered Painter
The painter drank with no restraint
Quite drunk with his mind askew
Survived the trip back to his flat
And then stumbled off to the loo

Looking for relief in head and hand
Which proved to be quite daunting
He grabbed sleeping pills instead,
Of the aspirin he was wanting

Paint on walls, the ceiling, a chair
In his hair and behind his ears
It was quite the sordid affair
He then gave up drinking for years!...

Ode To Writer's Block
Cross out
Erase
Start over.
Ideas just wont flow,
The pen just wont write.
Correction won't write.
New paper,
New pen,
Damn this wind
Close that window!
Where was I?
A million thoughts
And not one makes sense.
Where is my Thesaurus?
What the hell rhymes with time?
Lime
Dime
Mime,
Forget time!
Hell of a headache,
I need an aspirin.
Make that a shot,
Or two,
Or three
Where was I?
Cross out
Erase
Start over...

An Aspirin For My Pain
I am not suprised you came to visit
I am not surprised It hurts when I see you
maybe it is you who missed me
or maybe it was me who called you.
but one thing I am sure
I do NOT want to know you.

This small piece is going to help me
This small piece every day.
One week, no longer than that
One week, and you will be less than a cat.

One every eight and one every four,
I swear I did it before.
This time I tell you
I am not that old
You are just a cold....

Premium Member A Contractors Life
My Father built and repaired houses.
Like my Mother, I have a fear of potentially,
terrible disasters; They are well-founded, you see.

I’ve seen the nail-through-the-finger;
the fall from ladders and his face,
the day that someone’s hammer broke a light bulb
And glass shards dotted his face.

After a while, the ER employees knew him by name.
Nevertheless, he went to work every day, quite proudly
and returned in the evenings for his,
aspirin and pre-supper, nap....

Ah No
Aspirin, a powerful little pill
Ibuprofen, a safe pain pill

Them two little remedies almost stole what's mine
Finding myself in the emergency room was a shock to me

I didn't know I had it
That little bug in me that doesn't agree with some foreign bugs

Constricted airways, wheezing, swelling every where, name it all
And then to top it all, a mammoth bill

So i've become a paranoid little being
Keeping my enemies far from my food incase someone decided to slip a pill...
