How To Catch a Cold

How To Catch A Cold Wait until nightfall When all is quiet And you are alone in your room With the cold Sneak up on it In the dark With a Sherman tank Don’t make a sound! Take a sling filled with aspirin Without noise Prepare the walls with vapor-rub and love As you move slowly around the room Slip a pill down its throat Pray that it stays there While you lift it lightly Into a box marked for colds

Thanks SKAT. My poems are like my children. I send them out in the world to stand on their own merits. Some try to be good. Others require more shaping. As you can see, this one caught a cold. (I try not to feed them too much pen & ink for fear they might become...addictive...) Earl

Hi Larry. I'm sorry I'm getting back to you late. In the beginning I didn't know that I could respond back to readers. I'm just finding out. Thank you so much for your kind words. I am deeply appreciative. Regards, Earl
