Solitary hour
Momentarily adrift
Armchair traveler
Transitory decades pass
Silently animated.
Yesterday lingers,
still a not-yet-memory,
today waits to start.
I’m sleepless at 3 a.m.,
adrift in the cracks of time.
'T seems we imagined us the train
Forgetting us our station
Tempestuously challenging adrift
Warship on a slumbering ocean
Floating out further,
Adrift among the stellar.
Far beyond return,
Surrounded by the red glow
Of all solar stars which burn.
I'll always miss you
when I see the starry nights
slowly sail away
like sand adrift with the tides
– in lost undercurrents
A beautiful bird was soaring up high
and as I watched it adrift in the open sky
that good for nothing bird took a crap in my eye.
The ships gone adrift
On the blue portrait of us
Were just two strangers
No destination in mind
Every port just looks the same
snowflakes floating down
downy feathers caught in breeze ~
helplessly adrift

Time's memento unfolds a thousand lore;
Soul's ode is forged, behold!
As tides approach, a tale's told
Adrift every spirit's mold.
The boat floats adrift
Slack sails shift from side to side
Oar broke, rudder lost
To wander the ocean wide
Free at incredible cost
in life's labyrinths
we get adrift easily
yet we move forward
perching hope on a belief
of following the right path.

freely flies the bird
skies follow The sparrows North
wings floats above grounds

If USPS has your gift
Delivery will not be swift
It seems the Night Shift
Just got the short shrift
And somewhere your gift went adrift!
Fort Myers has not gone adrift
Although everyone needs a lift
With thumbs in the air
They need a rideshare
But FEMA has never been swift
when autumn falls and
leaves my heart bare, the wind
will blow my tears away;
adrift with the foliage, I
will think of you
I ride a leaky newspaper raft
Adrift on the linoleum
Anxiously awaiting an
An attack of smelly
squirming happiness
covered in fuzz:
Puppy love.
Flying souls, adrift
in a sea of silver clouds.
Their wings brushing God,
carrying prayers to Heaven;
messengers for the faithful.
tenderly
on the breeze
these branches sway
locked together
like lovers
in the embrace
of a close dance
suddenly
my thoughts
are adrift
again
She pooh-poohed his smallish gift.
He looked glum and she looked miffed.
No diamond in sight,
She did not delight.
Her love for him was set adrift.
A ring of truth, a silver star,
so set me adrift and I won't get far,
but tether my soul to astounding faith
and all that is left is my rippled wake...
Form:
twilight
in the palms
of my hands
awaiting
the trails
of stars
awakening
to carry
wishes whispered
of moonlit kisses
adrift on the wings
of dreams
Golden leaves adrift
autumn wind blows soft kisses
whispers sweet secrets
Unwanted
Nobody’s choice,
A lone star adrift,
Unwanted
Nobody’s beloved,
A broken piece of glass,
Unwanted
Nobody’s treasure
A dead leaf floating away.
resounding bittering
lacerating and
painful deafening ,
tremendous scream
is the sound
of a ruined love...
so adrift, so astray !
five sopranos float down streams
each one sleeps and each one dreams
adrift on sliced cheese
past herds of small bees
each awakens to tuneful screams.
