Premium Member Man-Shaped Orchid

An Italian Orchid that is native to the Mediterranean,
a cluster of pink/purple blooms that resemble men,
each wearing a hat and has a funny face too,
they grow in sun-drenched meadow,
and they dance and in the breezes,
oh, such a rare and unique flower,
that also looks like a person . . .

Balloons Shaped Like Anchors

Sometimes we all need
balloons shaped like anchors
to balance out
the exceptional
but also
the turbulent notions
found in our souls
which keeps us grounded
in our spirituality

Premium Member How Thou Hast Shaped Me, And Increased My Life

How thou hast shaped me, and increased my life,
     O Rose! Before, I was a squall, a storm
of melancholy and dark, bitter strife:
a soul already lost like a vile worm

on a dry sidewalk on a hot, sunny day.
Without hope or joy, without faith or God,
I spiraled, and at risk of losing my way,
my hateful heart thought thoughts that none can laud.

But O, dear Rose! Reformed by thee, made whole
once more by thy bottomless love and wide-browed beauty,
I am a new being fashioned by thy sweet soul,
and now transformed through thine unwavering fealty.

Rose, my storm was broken up by thy light,
so that I'm no more a worm in God's sight.

Premium Member Stephen Hawking Seems to Think It's Saddle-Shaped

I'm eating a hot dog for breakfast
With mustard and ketchup
Watching lecture 18 of
'How to Listen to & Understand Opera'
Sometimes it's pain au chocolat,
But I'm in pain getting in the car at
6:41am; I drive in the darkness
Cuckoos, frightened birds,
Donkey-Jupiter, hurdy-gurdy
Tears, sorrow, cries
I hear the clouds -
See a chariot drawn by two frogs
I say out loud, "That's a mad silhouette of a person."
Such a description may well give the
Impression that the Earth is out of sorts
And every morning, this is the
Birth of comedy

I check the football news
There was a punch-up at the end of yesterday's game.
"Look how happy the crowd is to see a man being strangled."
The pig is in the poke.

Premium Member We Are Shaped by Waves

We are ocean-born—
sea-salt still flows in our blood,
tides within our veins
the rhythm of waves calls us home,
to sea shanties' pulse and chants.

Once the waves have caught
you in their woven square nets
you are never free—
the waves don't ask permission
to sweep you up, knock you down.

Water yields and bends
soft yet stronger than iron,
nothing holds it back—
learn to ride the crest of change,
let its surge flow and shape you.

Each wind wells up
sculpts waves in sand, sky, sea, sounds
with smoothness caressed
to resonate sinuous
clock-like regularity.

Clouds above reflect
the sea's restless memory—
with waves in the sky
mirroring our handset waves
we use to communicate.

Signs ripple outward—
with wave gestures on the tide,
sometimes dismissive,
dragging under, lifting up,
quelling, by just saying 'Hi'.

Shaped by cruelty

They laughed out loud, for being fat. Turned myself into a thin bat, yet they laughed.

They screamed in my face for being ugly. I didn't know, they would still scream when i'm pretty.

They called me lazy, when, was Silently struggling with my mind.

After all of this, they asked me "Why did you change"?

Premium Member Re-shaped by Spinning Wheel Churning

Spinning to re-shape
on the lathe of misfortune
tools of memories
slice the old dead-wood away
shavings curling around feet

Round and round I go
ghostly hands remake my form
what I was, is gone
what I am, waits for pruning
severing grief from rough years

New clay on the wheel
trembling hands begin to mold
the shapeless mass pile
a new form slowly rises
shaped by daring, bold fingers

Painted ponies churn
straight road offers no answers
yet the circling does
we learn the truths we forgot
etched deep in the wheel's lament

Wood or clay spinning
hands caress, carve, and refine
as circle chants on
form and spirit are re-birthed
making a new beginning

Round and round I go—
shaped by the spinning
the rough falls away
a new form rises
in the clay, that's spun today,
-on the merry-go-round
-on the merry-go-round

Sipping on all of my stevia sweetened canned cola soda.
Thinking how for him I'll improve my metaphorical moda.
Painting him a heart-shaped astrological mandala.

Ball-Shaped Map

The ball-shaped map of
the world on
my desk has a
nasally voice. Its little brother aside him can
breathe triple fast due to
his triple
fat adenoids.

Serpent-shaped streams of tears slithering down my reddened cheeks
As I silently cry out all of the feelings built up for weeks.
Quietly reflecting on how he's changed because of my critiques.
