Premium MemberSea and Sand

In the midst of no man’s land
In the town of my birth
Once I dreamed of sea and sand
Sitting on the granite earth
A lot of water has flown under
All the bridges where I stood
Looking down, caught up in wonder
It was real and too good
A lot of time has passed since then
At the sea resorts I’ve stayed
Walked upon all kinds of sand
Picked up shells along the way
Dreams of sea come out fulfilled
Love’s another dream I had
It came true and stayed until
Came the time of which I read
That it comes all of a sudden
Unexpected like the rain
On a sunny day in town
Where my love lived, and remains
Dreams turn real and vice versa
This reality’s a dream
In the ash of its dispersal
Over sea and sand I’ve seen.

Hi May

Hi January
I miss you
ah, not you
but January. I miss May,
who smiled in the flower field
to the strains of the melancholic song
that played in my head at that time.

Hi May, let's go together again to January
so I can see you again
spinning merrily
among those swings.

Hello May
You will sit again by the North Sea
catching the tide
as I loved it.

And May,
walk again in the dim lights of the old city
with your steps in those white shoes
and I with the night drizzle,
admiring you then.

And now the drizzle is falling
Missing you again
In the alternating drizzle

THINGS YOU NEVER TOUCHED

I stitched my silence with threads of things I couldn’t say.
I yearned with the last pieces I had stored away.

The moon watched me unravel, but never turned away.
The sea heard my cries, but never bothered to ask me "why?".

I carved poems on the inside of my ribs just to feel alive.
And the lines suffocated me instead of bringing me back to life.

Now I wear my pain like a second skin—
Quiet, but tight.

Eyes search for yours in a room filled with aching hearts.
But yours were always the kind to look away when it got too dark.

The smile you wore felt so fake,
Never could see me in the eye but always watched me When it was time to say— goodbye.

You held my ghost like it was still breathing,
But never dared to touch the girl I was beneath.

Touched my skin like it’s what made me, me.
Still, unaware about the nights in me.

You kissed daylight onto my body,
But left my shadows starving in silence.

So I became the quiet storm you never saw coming
Soft in presence,
But drowning everything you left untouched.

Premium MemberYou don't have to stop the sea to make me feel you've chosen me

You don't have to stop the sea to make me feel you've chosen me,
for I've lived moments of dreams, yet loneliness has embraced me.
I won't ask you to stay where you don't want to be,
I won't hold onto things that don't cling to me, I won't insist on keeping them.
But if you want to take your time, my only concern is,
to be gentle with my heart, please be kind and understanding.
Be gentle with my heart, my dear, and I will do the same,
there will be days when we are in darkness, but we will follow the stars along the way.
So, be gentle with my heart, and I promise you the same,
we will seek the light in the night, guided by stars, dreams, and desires.
For in this journey, with our hearts exposed, vulnerable,
we will find the strength to love and rediscover each other, always, unwavering.

Premium MemberAlong the Sea Shore

They walked barefoot on the wet sand.
The hot sun had dipped beyond the horizon.
The brine and fresh air intertwined,
How pleasant to walk hand in hand!

Occasionally she would stoop,
Her wedding ring glinting in the dying sun.
She would search for lovely decorated shells,
Whilst he tried throwing flat stones
Across the calm stretch of the waveless sea.

Finally, they had to turn back to their inn.
The access to the beach stopped their tracks.
Large rocks hindered further progress.
They did not mind really. It was dark now.

Their previous footprints were almost obliterated.
Above the dark sky like sequins glittered stars.
They arrived at the inn, finely prepared.
They found champagne and sipping all
Until they fell into a deep restful sleep.

After the Storm

The sky broke open, spilling light along empty streets,
and he went under its shelter, carrying the weight of every yesterday
as if each memory could still cleave to his shoulders.

Raindrops lingered on the pathway like strewn mirrors,
catching pieces of moments thought lost:
the eyes that believed, the hands that shaped him and the whispers of care that remain long after absence.

Every step ahead shuddered with uncertainty.
But still the world teemed with quiet promise.

He spotted small wanders--
the scent of wet earth rising,
a leaf twirling in a plash,
the soft pulse of life returning after darkness.

He stumbled, he faltered,
yet each fall shaped a different rising:
a reed that bends but does not break,
a step that carries forward still,
though the horizon clings to storm.

No one walked beside him
but still he felt the world breathe softly in his steps.

The storm had passed, leaving only light;
a silent endurance entrenched in every step,
a mellow voice that urging him to continue,
even when the track is yours alone.

Gotcha !

Tingly skies full of surprise oh how I love when with surmise,
the little rascal aims his dart as if it were, poetic art !
Unpredictable seas with droplets that spray oh how the sharp rocks being where they lay,
Affects how sea nymphs stalk and capture their prey as if it were, a play !
Restless winds pervade the air oh how the clouds suggest a dare,
Looking like sheep jumping over fences oh how it stirs the sky and senses !
Crackling fire illuminating the shadows of the night oh how with mysteries of the light,
Animals will watch the humans make camp as if each camper is, a scamp !
Powerful gaze holding years of hope oh how with vulnerability and the will to cope,
Looks knowingly into the void as if it were, a mental sanctuary to be employed !
Unstoppable magnetism attracts us to one oh how unexpected, powerful and fun,
When cupid’s arrow aims for you, there isn’t much that you can do !

Sea Change

A tusked wolf dips its paw into the brine
the sea is its restless mother.
A proto creature, its bones already growing
razorback fins and horns, it must seek a shell
to hide beneath. The fanged manatee dies for love.
Before the porpoise leapt, before the whale shipped
its gray prow,
Jekyll and Hyde clawed each other
through a gibbosity of flesh. Where the skin flew,
rat tails grew gills and jagged jaws, while
blind behemoths burst out from small pods.
a saline transitioning that even now
wave-washes my naked feet, as the sea
plows me deep -
and does this cold moonlight reveal
the hidden talons of my ever-flowing father?

Please keep on singing

Tie me like Ulysses,
I don’t want
 run to death
hearing those songs!
Bind me Lord!
But you keep on singing!
The sins are not yours
for the shores I crave
or the eyes I seek
or the thrills of my restless soul!
I beg you to keep on singing.

The Pier Can't Always Keep You Where It Wants You To Be

You stand with your suitcase like a buoy,
bright, bobbing in the shallows,
and I am the pier—
rooted, barnacled, smelling of old salt and rope.

You tell me you’ll stay
if I keep my hands wrapped round your ankles,
but I know the tide you carry in your ribs.
Even on windless days
it pounds against my palms,
shouting for the open mouth of the horizon.

The gap is a sandbar—
we could walk there together,
let our knees sink into its damp skin,
pretend it will hold us longer than a season.
But I have seen what happens
when the sea grows impatient.
It chews through land like bread,
swallows the footprints before we can name them.

I want to say go after the storm has passed,
when our nets are mended,
when the gulls return to roost in my hair.
But your moon is full now.
It pulls at your water
even when you swear it won’t.

And I—
I cannot anchor you
without learning how to drown.

SEPIA SEA

in sepia waves,

time’s tide pulls me back

faded photographs,
memories in sepia sea
love captured in light

S-O-S

Am I on an island launching bottles out to sea
beached at the waterline will someone rescue me
I'm drowning not waving as the boats go by
abandoned at high tide does anyone hear my cry
here am I sad to say writing messages in the sand
marooned a lonely castaway will somebody lend a hand
if I'm on an island will my ship come in
or has it run aground did it go down
with only thoughts of you to keep me alive
when will my ship ever arrive
here on an island sending signals from the shore
stranded high and dry will no one hear my call
found my freedom a big mistake I made
there's not another living soul around
loneliness the price I paid
and my tears are the only sound
if only my time I could rewind
but am I really on a deserted island
or is it only in my mind

The Sea is Between Us

When I read your words, I feel a sense of peace!
The words are pleasant and offer me a chance to feel love!
Each time we speak, I feel your heart sharing with me a piece!
The words are of magnificent bliss like the beauty of a dove!

The sea is between us, but our hearts are connecting with desire!
The past has caused us to reach out and begin to speak!
The water only encompasses our fire!
Oh, please do not be afraid to show your shyness and be of the meek!

The land I live in is ample in comparison to your paradise!
Your paradise has what I need for my life!
My land has a different feel, but yours offers me true paradise!
Who knows! Maybe we’ll be in each other’s future life?

My heart is feeling the beat from you!
I am no longer afraid of trust because of you!

THE SEA AND I

First of all, I must say that I love the sea so much
in the past, I dared to repeat words from the poet Areias,
"Sea, my ground"

RETURN
If the sea deigns so much
to lose a little water
to wash my feet...
I reciprocate, filling it
back with my tears...!

I know the sea's salt,
so many shipwrecked ships...
I know the sea's distance
so many distant loves...

Water that gushes from me
only increases a sea between us
a lonely man without his love!

I know that the sea, my confidant friend,
will feel my death...
I, little innocent river!
