As shadows laid where none could go,
The dark sky etched fear in a scrawl,
Making hearts to leap out of sight,
Silhouettes of danger scared all,
A cooly breeze whispered the fright,
Meanwhile, death crept closer too slow.
It startled me from behind
but it could not hold its grip,
for in my hands I grasped it
and twisted it dead.
SCARED TO DEATH
I was warned not to go near that dreadful place,
And if I glanced them, to immediately
Turn my face,
Which I did, and began to run away in the pouring
Rain with all my might,
And turned down a dark lane thinking I was
Out of sight,
They however saw me and my footsteps
Began to trace,
I was afraid, horribly scared, trembling and
Wet, I was close to home, my safe space!
I hurriedly unlocked the door, the phone rang
It was midnight,
Heard windows shattering, dogs howling, the
Electricity died, there was no light,
A shadow emerged from nowhere, then two,
Three and four,
Vampires with razor sharp teeth surrounded me
Drooling, I looked down from above, I am no more!
Awakened from my slumber
The fear rushes through my body
My heart sounds like thunder
The air is heavy upon me
Creatures take shape
Molded from the black
Under the covers I escape,
but they're ready to attack
And then I heard
the floorboards creak
More chilling thoughts stirred
I even think I peed.
Voices begin to whisper
From underneath my bed
"What shall we do with her,
as we've scared her to death?"
