Looking for a brand for our growing herd
Nothing fancy nor absurd
Just something to let em know their mine
Rain or shine
Getting them to water.
As days grow hotter
Long lonely nights
Avoiding the lights
Keeping them out of fights
Yep, takes nerve
Feelings held in reserve
To ride heard on any kind of chicken critter
Some seem down right bitter
It takes sand
But back to our brand
Chickens need a tiny branding iron for sure
No cure
I've watched them grow
I want you to know
Ain't easy roping them tiny necks for one.
Waking up before the sun
Crazy roosters trying to claw your eyes out.
No matter how loud I shout
A rooster is a dangerous critter
Grabbed my friend and bit her
Never know when they will start stampeding
There's no impeding
There's no helping you then
Mauled by a lunatic hen
You won't win
They are clucking crazy when riled .
Can go from meek and mild
To totally wild
In nothing flat
They drop the hat
That's right.
No sleep at night
All they do is fight.
Pooping my breakfast what can I say
That's my day.
We all think we can do things which we can’t.
‘There’s nothing to it’ – how we’ll rue those words!
Those other jobs look simple – which they aren’t.
Thus, landing helicopters, roping herds,
injecting diabetics, seem a snip:
but teaching is the softest. “What jackass
could fail at chalk and talk?” Please! Get a grip!
Just try it, bro. Go stand before a class.
We’re at the hotel’s cheese and scrambled eggs.
I’m soon to show Mercedes London’s sights.
What drains my ego to its bitter dregs
(interpreting is easy, right?) is when
I ask the staff ‘Is Big Ben open nights?’
in English, and assure her, ‘que bien!’
Cowboy Bob loved taking the kids to the campfire
He told them stories about roping cattle, cleaning manure out of barns,
riding broncos, driving tractors, eating from a chuckwagon
They were fascinated by his stories
There was a lot of laughter
We grown-ups had our own circle and our own bonfire
Grateful that Cowboy Bob loved entertaining our children
It made our campout experience so much nicer
Its early morning and my baby she done put me out.
(She done put me out now, ya hear?)
Its early morning and my baby hung me out.
(Hung me out to dry, last summer sun.)
Its early morning and I tried to take me a ride.
(Alright.)
Its early morning and I'd try to go for a ride.
I'm a tight-roping dancer baby, failure on both sides.
(We'll I tried.)
And that's fine.
I'll just have to go and meet you on the other side.
(What side?)
I said, "I see you when I gotta", and I'll have to soon.
I'll make that other side, with or without you.

64, Many More for Wren
We belatedly sing,
Uncork a bottle of wine,
For Jen “Teetotaling”,
We imbibe Jen Joy sunshine!
Annapolis is gaining as less “NYing”,
Jen Wren for out loud “Whinin’”,
Rick & you go out dining,
Listen to music that’s fine,
On the Bay, enjoy sailing,
To Darby, Rickie & Sean be benign,
Worse than a NY storm is taxi hailing,
Dress to the 9’s, with Rick align,
Parachuting, Mountain scaling,
64 is only the beginnin’,
Know when tight roping,
C# or B Flat endnin’,
Light a candle, Offkey singing,
Barbara & I Luv Yah without margin!
A Cowboy lives his life,
From sunrise to sunset.
Hard work, calloused hands,
And a bunk to hang his hat.
Riding, roping, branding,
It's all for a week's pay.
Come Friday night it's time,
To chase the blues away.
A few cold beers in hand,
A Cowgirls twirling skirt.
It helps a man forget,
The hard days in the dirt.
But when the fun is done,
And the sun starts to grin.
It's time to grab the reins,
And Cowboy up again.
The tree in the corner shimmered with tinsel
A tradition I remember from Christmases past,
With bright colored bulbs and glittery roping
We filled the stand with water to make it last.
This year it was replaced by aluminum fronds
And twinkling lights pre-installed at the store,
No water required, it will last forever and ever
An improvement, eh? I say “Nay, what a bore!”

At the foot of
Ardent sun, the beauty waned away, abreast
To the hungry waves eating one's traces
And, turtles and crabs.
An eye is begging for kindness
Mere for one meal, love, and not all alone
A lot of it, we busy ignoring
The wail sounding over the mind
You excuse-
'The kind may thrive they to bite us'
And I wonder, what's the difference
between us and them?
They broke the choke collar to mend
the freedom they lost by roping all-day
alone in your yard or
You abandoned them like trash in the street
If u can't alms, the kindness to they
Don't chase and hurt them with your excuse
Such simple fun was had in days of old
for younger girls to spend their time each day-
apart from dolls to dress and fondly hold,
or make-believe tea time for fancy play.
A plain backyard with ordinary dirt
and length of rope to loosely swing about;
no matter dresses- plain or ruffled skirt-
just three of them it took to figure out
how fun it was for two to hold the rope-
one at each end to circle it around
so third could jump up high- and also hope
she'd be in time to clear it on the ground.
No TV, phones, or fancy games at hand;
days way back then were simple as can be.
But, oh the fun jump-roping would command-
this pastime kept them happy and carefree!

cowboy roping and riding
rodeo ready
bull riding cowboy
the fanciest belt buckle
not easily won
bull wrangling cowboy
the rodeo is in awe
his prowess legend
bull roping cowboy
the happy trophy winner
if he does not die
Pushups and planks
Now armpits stank.
Roping and jumping
Outdoors I'm loving
Kicking and punching
Tension and stress I'm releasing
Netflix on house arrest
Sunshine and fresh air, I confess
Kissed by the sun
Just vying for some fun
Social distancing
Nature I'm embracing
Mellifluous birds I hear
Living with no fear
Quarantine commanding
God's word, I'm standing
I think you're full of . Selfish big style men in suits.
The games you play ing suck. You're bloody amateurs.
Underground sex and getting it on. Are you for real?
Next time invite me. Or else it's jiving devil time at your expense.
Every jealous man is dangerous. I'm your worst enemy times a ton.
So sit tight and get scared. I'm the angry to fear most.
Ignore my threat at your peril. Please do so and it's party time.
Sweet revenge is mine. Like roping your sister good and slow.
Sexy sister agreed to my terms and went along. Then begged me for more.
How's that for starters? You corporate fecking whores who want analytic action.
I will win because I'm me. The badass redneck writer from the Badlands.
Take care and watch your back. Feel free to arm yourselves and prepare for war!
A Christmas Tale
In the dim and distant past,
There was sore enmity
Between Divinity and Humanity
Man’s disobedience paved way to sin
roping man into the devil's captivity.
God was heartbroken
Beholding man from Heaven
And concocted a bridge for Unity
By sending his priceless Son, Jesus
Granting man impurity.
Oh now, the savior is born
There is hope for all mankind
Oh, at last, freedom will all find
Light has shone upon the dark mind
And a facelift of sight to the blind.
Oh take a peek as though in a fair
The peace and the love in the air
The joy that wells from within
The hope of secured future
The ecstasy of the season.
Now, we celebrate Christmas
Our advocate is born
And exalted is our horn
As the strength of the unicorn
Our King is born…
God’s choicest gift to humanity.[Title]
A very Merry Christmas to you!
