Monocrostic (Birthday of Rolly C. Simblante)

Outside, by my front door,
I count twelve things. Can you count more?
When I go out to take the air,
a snail and butterfly greet me there,
and I always see someone -
a lizard out in the sun.
A spider plucks his silvery strings
which he also uses to catch flies and things.
Uhoh, the snail is going somewhere,
but a caterpillar beats him there.
In the soil, where up spring plants,
I see a regiment of ants.
They march along in formation,
members of the six-legged nation.
In the tree a robin sings.
Hey, what's that - a hummingbird with rotary wings!
Let's not forget to take stock
of all the things under the rock.
A rolly polly rolls up cuz he's shy.
A centipede with a hundred legs strolls by.
When you go outside, what can you count?
Can you find a higher amount?
I'm scared of too many things outside.
I'm going back into my house to hide.

Smelling
Woody, sweet, aroma
Christmas pine tree,
Weaved with Bright blinking lights,
Topped with a starlit top.
Feeling
The Brrr ... chill of the night air
Brrr ... freezing cold of the North Pole.
Listening
To the sounds of the wind
For the Ring a ling, jingling,
Ringing of the sleigh bells.
Watching
Moonlight shadows dancing
On the walls as they take
Different fantasy shapes
Waiting
Jolly, rolly, “Ho, Ho, Ho”
White beard Santa
In a white fur trim, red velvet suit.
Seeing
Santa’s sleigh just went zooming by
Fading off to nighttime dreams
Making every minute count.

Rolly poly foley kitty cat
Ate a sandwich with a fried-up rat
Coughed up a bit on my welcome mat
Because he did not want to get totally fat

I found an armadillo on my pillow
he was light as a feather on a willow
What was he doing on my pillow?
this rolly tiny stub of no real kilo
this roundy little sweety ditto
that was made of coco & oreo ?
He was waiting for a morning hello
but as the sun began to billow
he would melt right on my pillow
So I just placed him in the fridgeo
where he could live another dayo
Now isn't that a glorious wayo
to treat an armadillo on a pillow
now isn't that a glorious wayo
to have a friend name Shiloh...

EACH morning comes and we are dying
ONE year passes and more are born
i walk in fields of flowers and gossamer
and fell into a hole with stars and nebula passing
and caterpillars singing before they have wings
and a red panda kisses my cheek and explains this is
where things go when one dreams while walking.
-- so hooka man in your small corner closing in upon
your jelly brain gets up and dances again
oh little rolly-polly you are a cute ball
and my brain lost logic and proportion and words
and numbers dissolve at the dawn of common sense.
We are told to believe some things
We are punished for doing many things
We are clean as a Spirit and Soul
but then as always -- life takes its toll
Be safe around busy eyes and hold upon a wind
the secret words you believe in
allow no parrot to squawk within the room of
your private thoughts
Oh! Live! Be different and be your own friend!
Be your own friend!

Hugs
muster
strength to light
amongst brethren.
Hope reflects as storm-water slowly drains.
With warm compassionate care and prayers
raised fervor hands
to rebuild
broken
Homes.

the rolly chair chance,
the pole-y bear prance
the zanily, happily, dappily, underwear dance.
my muse laugh as she comes up with these lines.
Loving the colorfulness of the things that she finds.
The holy care rance.
The mole-y dare lance…..
She is lying on her back flat out, kicking her legs in the air.
Trixie, do you think you have gone a bit too far to the left?
the sole-y air mance.
The grow-ly mare ants.
She is laughing too hard to continue.
I wait for her to crash and burn.
The jole=y share pants.
The kole-y jare cants.
She is in hysterics now.
Done?
Doubtful.
It is 3:42 a.m.
She refuses to let me go back to sleep
Until I type this out.
Trixie out of all the muses in all the world…
the rolly chair chance,
the pole-y bear prance
the zanily, happily, dappily, underwear dance.
