Rita and Peter and Sue Too

Let me tell you all about my friend Rita
She fell in love with a guy named Peter
He made his living as a panel beater
To Rita there wasn't a guy any sweeter

So Rita and Peter went into town one day
Happened to meet Sue along the way
Both of them asked if she was okay
Fair to middling is what she did say

Peter was a cheater and had a roving eye
If ladies were about he certainly wasn't shy
When Rita found out she started to cry
All she could say was why Peter why

A Rose For Rita

Here’s to the travellers,
   the passengers, the tourists
who trek this alien landscape
   in search of experience.

Here’s to the resilient,
   the adaptable, the survivors
who chose uneven ground
and made a path for others.

Here’s to the dreamers,
   the poets, the believers
who see the cosmic cycles
   of life, death and rebirth.

Here’s to the family,
   the siblings, the bonds
that protect and comfort
   because love is never lost.

Here’s a rose for Rita,
for Les, for Reen, for Mom
and all the souls we’ve lost
   who have gone home again.

For we are the aliens,
   not of this Earth, interlopers,
we belong to eternity
and to eternity we shall return.

NOTE:
Last night, Aug 20, 2019 my sister Rita Rose (her married name) lost her battle with leukemia and kidney disease, passing behind the curtain peacefully, joyfully returning to her husband Les whom she lost just nine months ago. Our mother passed only two months ago at the age of 92 while my brother's wife Reen died in April of 2018. Please send your love to Rita's daughter Heather and her grandchildren.

Rita

There once was a cat they called Rita
Whose best friend was named Manuelita
One day they played cards
Rita won…wasn’t hard
‘Cause Rita was really a “chee-tah”.

Flowers By Rita Solis Radius

Dear readers of mine,
I bring you
Some red flowers!

Dear friends of mine,
I bring you some
nice twin flowers!

Dear family of mine,
I bring you
some nice roses!

'Cause, flowers
Do bring us a lot
Of joy at home!

'Cause, flowers
Do love us all,
For, they are like us:

Godfather has also created them!
So, family and friends of mine,
We do have to love flowers,
We all, have to respect flowers,
God, our Father, wants Love to be first in life!!

Escaping Rita

Chased mercilessly
over well- worn tar
palpable loss pushes
a sable brush
dunked in dread
a furious deluge
of fear
 oozes out
blackens every inch
 of familiar landscape
what if’s
eat through
 the still static blue horizon
making a meal
of unborn dreams
slaked only by
hastily grabbed
history
coupled with
ragged spirits
 that desperately
haul hope north
safe haven
on strange soil
still dark hours
 away

Lovely Rita

Rita Rizzo was more like you and I when she was younger
Sometimes asking herself why she felt this sort of hunger
But one way she was different was her great love for Jesus
No matter how things went she knew that He still loved Us

As this love for our Lord grew so did her wisdom and insight
And all that strength that she drew in the seeing of His Light
A woman of smaller stature no one could ever stand so tall
For when it's Jesus you adore your enemies' often tend to fall

But it was her constant prayer hour upon hour spent alone
And the more she would become aware in His Light Shone
Defending Him if it's needed in taking on her Lord's Fight
But it's what she seeded in helping so many in their plight

And now She's up there talking with all of the Lords Angels
But down here feels so bare for now there are few parallels
Perhaps we could, in Her name, also begin to do the same
To the One who took all our blame so we'd have no shame

Psalms 34:15
“The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous,
and his ears are open unto their cry.”

Peter and Rita

Peter met Rita
He was so pleased to meet her
They went on a date, so Peter could treat her
On the date, Peter challenged Rita to a game of cards
(He thought he could beat her)
In the game, Rita was beating Peter
Peter called Rita a cheater
He said “Rita, you need to play neater”
You are a big cheater!
“Rita, you are a big, big, big cheater” shouted Peter
(Peter was a repeater)
The following week, Peter met up again with Rita
Peter told Rita, he was sorry to call her a cheater
He asked if they could meet up again
(Him being a repeater!)
They later enjoyed a night out
With a litre of Margarita

My Rita

Rita, the feeling is so real
For you, of all the love and
passion
My Rita, how do I make you
feel?
Loved, or out of fashion?

Rita, I’ll be the one for you
Forever by your side
My Rita, whatever it takes, I’ll
do
Our hearts, we’ll never hide

Rita, you came to me my love
In just the nick of time
My Rita, tonight we’ll rise above
You’re in your red dress so fine

Rita, the feeling is so real
For you, of all the love and
passion
My Rita, how do I make you
feel?
Loved, or out of fashion?

Limerick croises : Once our ‘Rita jumped into Sea Anne-Anne – 14

Once our ‘Rita jumped into Sea Anne-Anne
Sirens howled « panic stations » refrain
One Valhalla Rani
Offered her much money
For a shot sans mantilla – in vain

Our ‘Rita – you bet – a stunning beauty
Not given to falling for flattery
Was all of prime six feet
Which she tucked under meat
For Sevillan beds stood (on) two feet plus three !

So they put her up that night till Morgan
Classified her as subterfuge weapon
NSA roped her in
To put one o’er Putin
Now Chinese wish her to test rat poison !

A Band and a Dancer So Grand Rita C

A BAND AND A DANCER SO GRAND

“Shall we dance?” the lady asked ever so politely
And oh how the lady danced ever so lightly
It was as if she hovered an inch above the floor
And I never enjoyed dancing with a partner more

I begged the band to belabor the point
For it was the music the woman would anoint
She baptized the band as sanctified oil
And to the lady my soul became loyal

She took to the tile, a temptress, my muse
And when she asked for more no man could refuse
The brass played with class and the flute wasn’t mute
And her elegance was a fact God Himself could not refute

Mine eyes beheld the majestic majesty of grace
And simply holding her caused my heart to race
She danced me into a dream of loveliness and lace
Whilst the band grew jealous of what was in my embrace

Her gracefulness begot beauty and grandeur so bright
While the vocalist sang a song about undying delight
But then I heard four words that dimmed every light
When the M.C. announced the final dance of the night
DOES THIS MAKE ANYONE BESIDES ME WANT TO PUKE?
