Circle The Wagons

When the cold winds blow

What is there to push back on, after all,

Leave That Omen Behind

When you’ve had every chance and all resource in hand.
When you’ve been in good graces and known where you stand.
When you had God in Heaven reach down just to line it all up,
 
and you still found a way to fail. How could that be?
You look back in disbelief, regretfully
and feel like a failure, jinxed

I RESOLVE

I know it’s tradition to make resolutions at the beginning of each year
that has always been the way…
but I have a list of resolutions I try to keep to every day:

I resolve to tread a little softer, 
to tiptoe and walk barefoot on the Earth
to remind myself everything that’s been created…
has beauty…value and worth.

I took up the call
The command was made
Placed the receiver down
Hardened my resolve
Steadying my shivering nerves
I picked up the gun
Shot at the innocent man
He fell with a thud
Blood spurted from his chest
With my descent into Hell
I fell from Grace 
My gut swiftly swirled
Downwards the twilight zone
A throne of skin and bone spoke

A gigantic wave across the land
With power and fury, it sweeps like sand
Trump's roar, a tide that rages and swells
Echoes of passion where fervent hope dwells

Echoing Resolve

Easy river run
down vast beauty light
in morning dawn
crest before my eyes

For Autumn rain has gone
sparking light of silver grace
now lay peaceful strokes
on hillside of new day

Each thought still remain
in splashed hues of poetic verse
a quenching bath of love 
upon soft sky of birth
