mentor me to make allowances
give me the fortitude to forgive
anoint me with a godly leniency
In this life I now live
give me the ability to forgive
the capacity to absolve
teach me to be patient
have my brokenness resolved
make me more tolerant
operating with a Jesus attitude
teach me to be more compassionate
more redeeming and less rude
give me the ability to forgive
the capacity to absolve
teach me to be patient
have my brokenness resolved
I now stand before you God
In complete humility
with a penitent heart
vowing to do my part
In total honesty
to let go of anger
to no longer act with emotional rage
rebuking demonic traits
for in your wisdom I now wage
now able to absolve to resolve
all the brokenness in my life
between me, my family
and my Lord Christ
Lord give me the ability to forgive
and the capacity to absolve
teach me to be patient
for all my brokenness has been resolved
I do not place my words before your praise,
nor wait for your clapping hands to grant them worth.
A deeper pulse compels the lines I raise~
a meaning rising darkling into birth.
I write to breathe, to name what trembles near,
to steady what has wavered in the cage,
to free the truths that lingered bound by fear
and give them voice upon an open page.
Denied acclaim is neither wound nor guide;
your daggered slights effect not my moving hand.
Expression is the compass at my side~
the soul’s own weather shaped so it may stand.
So pen your veiled, daggered slights if you must.
My work seeks life beyond my desk, unbowed and just.
resolutions fail
promises may get broken
yet we must still try
Now that all the family and friends have retreated back to their own caves to digest the pies, cookies and candied everything of another holiday ruckus, it’s finally time for me to tidy up the old homestead. January has arrived here in the Ozarks. It is traditionally a month of resolutions. Those promises we all make to ourselves to be better neighbors, better friends, better family…better human beings. Time for reflection and regeneration. A time to remember those things that treated us well and how not to repeat the mistakes we've made throughout the years. I have my list, though I’m sure most of them will fall by the wayside within days, I’ll still try to keep them as long as I can. Because even though I’ll only keep my resolution for a day, a week or a month, my life might be in a better place for a while. Besides, who says I can only make a resolution once?

Reginald vowed with nut-free zeal,
Salads shall be my balanced meal!
He heard advice (quite well-intended):
Eat the rainbow!—so his habits he amended.
In went the reds, the blues, and the yellows~
M&M’s sparkled like fruity little fellows.
Rainbow nutrients! he chirped with delight,
Munching his way through each sugary bite.
By February? A wobble, a sigh~
Next year, he vowed, I’ll eat kale... or fruit pie.

December,
whispers melting fast~
promises scribbled on receipts,
dog-eared hope curled in midnight’s fist,
unread.

Monocrostic (Birthday of Ness Mandapat)
Ashby v White, if applied right.' With the script i do not
Comply' at the ballot will belie.) Remove misogeny from
On high..Why choose to be opressed? Once this reality
Is addressed.' Other lands should follow suit? Then your
Fate will not be moot.' (The no longer to be trusted)
Shall then really find they're busted.' So be ready from this
Day give them the boot.' Send them on their un-merry way.!
Hold firm resolve, to remain still,
gentling thought, word and deed,
that thus by relinquishing will,
we let love take the lead.
Awake dear heart, awake
Be tranquil like a lake
Our soul’s growth is at stake
If we’d evolve
Hold firm resolve
Be true to yourself
In joy and sorrow
For only you know
What you feel
Even if not why
So stand tall, head high
And remember to breathe
Free and easy
No matter what others
May think or say
Friend or foe
For they never know
What is both
In your heart and head
As the wind blows
Sun shines
Clouds form
And rain falls
Don’t forget who you are
And that it all depends
On a single breath…
(4/24/25)
When the cold winds blow
And the hostile natives are restless
It’s time to wake up, smell the coffee
And cut your losses.
What is there to push back on, after all,
But the bitter taste
Of someone else’s resentment;
The mighty wind of their off-gassing.
The world is wild and cruel
Even within the treacherous smile of neighbors
When dog eats dog possesses their mind
You find yourself one of the dispossessed.
In this open, exposed and lonely place
Circle the wagons of your resolve
Recognize those you hold dear
And take solace in their love.

When you’ve had every chance and all resource in hand.
When you’ve been in good graces and known where you stand.
When you had God in Heaven reach down just to line it all up,
and you still found a way to fail. How could that be?
You look back in disbelief, regretfully
and feel like a failure, jinxed by a charm of bad luck.
Then you’re forced to ask yourself, “Should I go on?”
You wonder if maybe the timing was wrong,
that if you keep going, this time will it finally work out?
Cuz now there’s an omen that’s lurking behind,
waiting to take you down time after time.
It’s hard not to think that way, wondering what it’s all about.
But success in a very real sense is defined
as - starting things over again, one more time
than whatever the number of times it is that you’ve gone down.
Leave that omen behind in the re-view of life.
Drive off and keep going. Don’t even think twice.
For now, you know better in all things… this time around.
The super low-grade low-brow, low-born guy
Is not at all a low life, but we don’t know why.
Possibly it is the resolve of is sainted mother
She made most of her parenting mistakes on his low-brow brother.
A resolution requires resolve
if the problem it is to solve
A week or two just won’t do
when a year’s required of you
Strength’s counsel, please admit
Little setbacks can’t make you quit
So, set your jaw, align your spine
in 365, you’ll be just fine
Through the eye of a needle, narrow yet unyielding,
Belief burns bright spoken, lived, received.
Pain is the toll, loneliness the price,
Friends lost, enemies born, love sacrificed.
It’s not about you but your boundless potential,
A storm caged, breaking, roaring for freedom.
The cost is everything; the reward?
Respect. Power. Transformation.
When the world steals, betrays, crushes
Rise. Fight. Don’t you dare quit.
In the house of power, his fiery call
A Trump vision that inspires us all
With his passion ignited, the banners unfurl
Four more years charged with a vibrant swirl
