Sonnet No 2

Because of your age
You leave me in a rage
Why temper me ?
When we walk on a lea

You wont bow to the Queen
Is it because your a teen
You wont walk the promenade
Is it because our love is frayed ?

Where is your joy
we are not built on clay
Seize the day
Once more omit the grey

Finally you have reprieved
I shall not be grieved

Borrowed Time

Holding on tight
to each moment before

The test results come
forever unsure

Reprieved for a day
condition unchanged

“Your numbers are stable
— but cancer remains”

Psalm 103-3

We’ve all been crippled
in different ways
To hobble or stumble
 alone in our pain
No one is reprieved
as years take their toll
Till that day we return
one body — one soul

The Napkin

God took a vacation
when time had run out
Rethinking his opus
replanning devout

His Angels in limbo
the devil on leave
Heaven a sublet
sin now reprieved

Faith worn and tattered
the bible debunked
Crusades a bad memory
the Grail marked as junk

He orders a cocktail
the waitress comes back
A napkin — her number
salvation highjacked

My April Fool Horn Haiku For You

My April Fool Horn Haiku

looked and saw loose stool
had been found in swimming pool
produced by cruel fool

had brought baseball bat
would want to knock someone flat
found him to be fat

is no Einstein
did like fruit that died on vine
so he should resign

small hands looked like claws
character had many flaws
grabbing at loose straws.

what we had believed
by maniac was conceived
he should be reprieved

really and really
is stupid yet still silly
played with a filly

distinguished Democrats
Rude Republican Spoiled Brats
on head need some pats

Premium MemberLucy Gives Tortoise a Fine Day

Tortoise had only great things to say about his comrade Lucy.
She inspired their boss to give him a day off with his cousin Deucy.

When Deucy bowed out of the adventure, Tortoise felt relieved
Like he had been exonerated, and reprieved.

Because he had a cozy armchair and an exciting book to read
He settled down for a terrific day; it was a marvelous unselfish deed!

Life Unbound

Waiting for life to come to me,
the clock ticked down to one

With barely but a second left,
my tendency to run

With nothing left but one last tick,
all motion seemed to stop

Perspective changed, then rearranged,
a lifetime on the spot

My eyes won’t blink, the fear too great,
of staying closed for good

As from a distant galaxy,
I finally understood

All life had boiled down to this,
eternity defined

When everything that ever was,
together crossed my mind

I left the past and future mired,
to breed and then deceive

And took this present life unbound
—unto my soul reprieved

My Tree - It Shall Survive

MY TREE - IT SHALL SURVIVE

Beside the Kinta River still it stands
Colossus of the primal forest panoply
Residing native of the fecund land
It’s limbs supporting graceful arcing canopy
A wondrous teeming aerial village live
                   It shall survive

A plume of smoke in still cool morning air
Warned of a threat to life of our dear friend
I dragged back fire and damped consuming flames
From perilled home of copious verdant life
Reprieved to face more challenges, and strive
                    It shall survive

Bearing scars, endured with grace of old patrician
Looking on unchanged, while all around contrive
‘til once more needing care of a passing physician
                    It shall survive
Each time I pass that way, I muse as I see
With warm complacent notion : ‘That’s my tree!’

The Spark

The Spark

I believe

I am a law breaker
Reprieved from a sentence to dwell in a dark , empty , bottomless internal well .

I believe

Strengthen me to make a stand, when I am bereaved by lovers of this corrupted world.
Who’s efforts are to uproot me as a unwanted weed.

I believe

Encourage me,
To climb out of the mire.
I often find my self engulfed in,
When I have wondered off the path of light,
And I have been deceived by the prince of lyres

I believe

You ignited a spiritual spark in my soul.
Inspire me to cultivate the spark ,into a
A consuming fire.
By feeding it with kindling of the Word,Spirit, servitude.

I believe

You have anointed me to be a touch bearer.
Carry the light of truth to the dark shadowy places where deception thrives.
To bring the warmth of the flames of love and hope, that will melt coldness of hate and destruction.

I believe

With out Jesus the Christ
I am unable to confront my enemies
With courage and nobility as a man.
Instead I scurry a long the floor searching for a hiding place, like a terrified mouse.

Premium MemberCake With Prince Charles - In His Words After Meeting Trump

I just met this awkward chap,
By some referred to as a “Cad”,
Sat with him for quite a chat,
One that wasn’t near half-bad.

We spoke about the plight of Earth,
How man’s destroying it,
A pet subject since my birth,
An obsession I can’t quit.

He seemed to listen quietly
As I rambled all hour long,
But I think I reached him finally
When I told him he was wrong.

At that he seemed to wake
From the slumber I’d perceived,
Maybe this or that big cake
From my servant we received.

Either way I care not how
His support I then achieved,
I just want him to allow
Mother earth to be reprieved.

People think I’m such a bore,
Plummy mouthed and a tad slow,
Little knowing I do score
When it matters I just know.

Premium MemberI Am Lifted and Forgiven--

Oh, I am always, I’m in so much in love with the Lord;
For He’s given me life this I know;
He is true to me, I am redeemed;
Confessed, repented sinner reprieved…

I’m forgiven
I’m forgiven
I am saved by the blood of the Lamb;
I will be living
I’ll be living
In the mansion, in the skies in heaven

Oh, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up;
So I lifted up my arms and hands;
God comes to me, He embraces and lifts up me…
He is truth, He is all that I need

And He embraces me
And He embraces me
For He never, never, ever let’s me BE;

And when I’m down, He’s always around
My God, My Jesus lifts and forgives me;

And He embraces me
And He embraces me
For He never, never, ever let’s me BE;
I’m forgiven
I’m forgiven
I am saved by the blood of the Lamb;
I will be living
I’ll be living
In the mansion, in the skies in heaven
And when I’m down, He’s always around
My God, My Jesus lifts and forgives me;
My God, My Jesus lifts and forgives me;

Ghost of Empathy

A soft glowing, upon a hopeless face.
A hurt showing, as you descent from this place.
Will you return, before we begin our fall?
A reprisal we yearn, longing for that call.
A ghost of empathy, enters the tomb.
A feeling of sympathy, shadowing us in gloom.
Through our bleeding, we come together.
A bitter beating, shrouded by dreary weather.
It won’t be alright, despite what you say.
A eternal night, blocking out our day.
A lack of light, hiding the way.
An answer of silence, an answer of fear.
A prayer of violence, hidden oh so near.
Can you try to see, a place once beautiful?
A way to forget me, a thought so merciful.
Soft sands of ashen white, waves pound deliberately.
A delicate day so right, turned so menacingly.
Never wanted this, never wanted to be reprieved.
An ensnaring kiss, never meant to be deceived.
Can you recognize, a place we called our own?
I see in your eyes, the endurance you’ve shown.
I cannot see the lies, such a fable we have grown.
Can you hear the fragile wings, beating as they fall?
A benevolence sings, reducing the mind to a crawl.
I’m going now, forever alone.
A teary eyed bow, walking a nether unknown.

Premium MemberGod Saw a Prize

My world a chasm of utter darkness
Dreariness enveloped me like a cloud
Bound by chains in an abandoned fortress
Tormented body - a field freshly plowed
Accomplishments ignored; voice never heard
Wondered why on earth was I even born
Treated like clipped wings of a fallen bird
Ripped to shreds, I could no longer be torn
Unsettling to be taunted by others
When all you do is exemplify love
Why is it so hard to love one another
As commanded by the Savior above
I tried so hard to find favor in their sight
All efforts were unfavorably received
I began to pray and was bathed in light
Chains started falling, my sentence reprieved
God looks at me and sees a worthy prize
The Lord loves all of his children the same
I’m no longer concerned about man’s eyes
Ill-conceived judgments nor secular names
The name of the Lord is a strong tower
His mighty name is worthy to be praised
I thank him for his redemptive power
For being my light on the darkest of days
In times of despair God spoke from above
Through His Word, He counseled and He advised
Keep His commandments - Keep walking in love
I am His, I am loved, and I am a prize!

A Haiku Anthology - Theme Summertime

wildflower meadow
as tall as a muntjac
cuckoo cuckooing
-
farmers haymaking
grasshoppers stridulating
don't touch a stinkbug
-
wood admiral glides
honeysuckle its host plant
humid the hot nights
-
warm is the river
fish rising leaping for flies
life seeking cool shade
-
inverted swimmers
water boatmen taking in air
cygnets follow pen
-
as fall approaches
swifts are well on their way
second brood blackbirds
-
hungry mosquitoes
human siestas a nap
insect repellent
-
sunbathing insects
flowerflies hovering free
mowers thrashing lawns
-
farmers cutting hay
a smell not forgotten
wildlife be afraid
-
sunbathers warning
cream up or suffer sunburn
worse melanoma
-
swifts immature
three years on the wing
unbelievable
-
sand martins nesting
adorning soft sandy clifts
freshwater skimmers
-
dragonflies masters
watch them fly backwards a thrill
kingfishers posing
-
super hot weather
droughts not good for wildlife
reprieved... thunderstorms
-
climate warming
both poles can't take the heat
humans all sweating
-
a countryside walk
on a warm sunlit day
foxes sunbathing
