Premium Member Come To The Waters

This is a form called a Pensee, but I deviated from the true form. Also, somewhat an example for my contest. I use Isaiah first as it relates to me then how I try to figure out my best trait. Soon we will be married sixty-three years, and I feel that God gave mankind a command to marry, love each other, be faithful, stay together, and have children so I have done that.

Free drinks
Water, wine, milk
Holy Spirit offers them
To a child at small church years past
He loved me as I was

Filled me
Now a clean pot
He saw some promise in me
Though I saw it not, so now search
For my positive trait

Loyal
Sticking, holding
Through good, bad, sickness and health
For sixty-three years stayed, prayed and loved
I obeyed God and man

Daffodils

Yellow daffodils upon a hill,
Standing strong in their will,
Letting their colors spill,
Filling the space with grace,
Brightening up the place,
Chasing the sun,
Having fun in the breeze,
A pleasing sight,
I stop to share my light,
They grow just right,
They don't fight or meddle,
Perfection in every pedal,
Deserving of a medal,
As I settle into the beauty before me,
Exploring how they came to be,
And how their life relates to me.
The daffodils on the hill,
Sending me chills,
As the thrill of life fills this space,
With its blooming grace,
A reflection of the sun's face.

Have you fallen into the oldest of traps, before?

Have you fallen into the oldest of traps, before?

(A lone voice whispers)

Be Illuminated.

Don't be like the many and fall into a readers' mindset, and believe everything you read is true.

Be sophisticated and ingenious.

And when reading poetry, be conveniently adventurous.

Don't always think it personally relates to the author:

For that trap is the oldest of the old.

Going back to poetry's first beginnings.

Poets do sometimes relate their stories to be told, but generally, perhaps:

They're really creating secret escapes.

Imagery, emotions and landscapes, for those seeking shelter.

From the cold, unforgiving, light of just living.

Fondly the memories dissipated;
Nothing left but lost discerns and heartache;
Memories such one forgotten hated;
Gross bonding ne’ver more relates;
Away from sight darken light shuns low shines;

This who is beneath the grounds named so kind;

Premium Member Flame of bliss

Does heart yet secretly anticipate,
in as seek a scent it does remember,
thereby fanning desire to alter fate,
to prolong the flames of dying ember?

The rabbit hole of desire goes in deep,
which relates to cravings of body-mind,
so if we’re to take a consciousness leap,
we must leave all ego cravings behind.

Moment to moment, all moments entwined,
in the here and now, vibrant and carefree,
head and heart with whispers of love aligned,
we proclaim ourself as God’s devotee.

Desire exhumed by our mind discerning,
ignites flame of bliss, forever burning.

Premium Member Faustian Bargain

Caught in a spotlight from a star
Long time ago extinguished
Isn’t it good to see so far
A mirrored image finished
This view relates to time I guess
If one looks from the star side
A planet Earth must be a mess
That long ago has died
Time works like turning of the key
It opens lots of spaces
I borrowed little time for me
To let me see through faces
One day a Faustian bargain
We’re forced to make, before we go
Each ounce of dust looks quite the same
Is this important thing to know?

What do you say about dying?

What do you say about dying,
that won't cause any undue stress?
Some kind of small talk about life,
like some secret you could confess?

Or how about a bunch of cash,
they say you won't be needing?
When everyone is wondering,
how long can a heart keep beating?

Isn't life a little bit strange,
with all of the good and the bad?
And how it relates hand in hand,
to the happy and to the sad?

In the end will they remember,
all the sacrifices we made?
Or like clouds in the summertime,
will we just one day fade away?

Premium Member Avadhuta Gita Chapter 1 verse 8:

“I have no mental activity, good of bad;
I have no bodily function, good or bad;
I have no verbal action, good or bad.
I am the nectar of Knowledge -
beyond the senses, pure”

fragmented fickle thought relates to ego
useful of course but we now make it slow
we take expansion as good, contraction as bad
preferring to be joyful rather than sad
but reflect oh hermit, to whom do emotions come
are we not the luminous Self, the very cosmic hum

since we are both transcendent and immanent
pulsations of bliss within us are permanent
Soma nectar flows and we drink to our fill
peering at heaven through soul’s window sill
vagaries of earth life we easily endure
since of heart is pure and innate vibrance demure

Premium Member Dandelion

You can blame me for the wars
And eclipse me for the nation
Close before me gates and doors
To prevent contamination
You can treat me like a fool
Talk to me like I’m a child
Who had listened to a mule
Born and bred in land of wild
Where they never read a bible
Maybe never use a fork
Round the fire they dance tribal
Dances, looking folly dork
Their existence is illegal
Their warships cross the ocean
They are threatening the bald eagle
Poor bird sends warning notion
None of the above relates
To myself, and likes of me
Who are facing the same fate
Waiting for the blind to see
But as every pavement needs
Its own stubborn dandelion
I’m with decorative weeds
In the world of deadly iron.

Premium Member What Would You Say?

What would you say if morning’s blurred
And scattered light is grey
Or you won’t bother with a word,
Would simply look away?
What would you say, if in the news
There’s nothing really new?
More grief and troubles to amuze
Like they were never few
Or will you say a word or three
About the evening’s damp
Or maybe it’s suffice to see
A burn of midnight lamp?
You need more wine, I want more bread
I miss more music too
What would you say, if all is said
And done, like you would do?
There will be winds, and bending trees
And sun, and rain, and snow
There will be ships in deep blue seas
And anything you know
But one day you’ll be gone, my friend
The same relates to me
What would you say, if there’s no end
To lives, that we can't see?

Premium Member I Wish I Had A Deadman’s Hand

Distracted by eyes and lips; skin so fair.
Lured bettors; a beautiful poker face.
Taking games with ease; a delicate stare.
The deck’s in my hand. I’m holding her ace.

I wish I had better prepared our tryst.
I’m falling in love across the table.
This temptation is one I must resist,
dare and she’ll leave with my horse and stable!

She offers a grin, as river cards fall.
No hesitation. She places her bid.
The pot within sight I echo my call.
Excitement not being bottled or hid.

Meeting your match; unlikely pair relates.
Cards fallen in stalemate; aces and eights.
