What Would You Say?
What would you say if morning’s blurred
And scattered light is grey
Or you won’t bother with a word,
Would simply look away?
What would you say, if in the news
There’s nothing really new?
More grief and troubles to amuze
Like they were never few
Or will you say a word or three
About the evening’s damp
Or maybe it’s suffice to see
A burn of midnight lamp?
You need more wine, I want more bread
I miss more music too
What would you say, if all is said
And done, like you would do?
There will be winds, and bending trees
And sun, and rain, and snow
There will be ships in deep blue seas
And anything you know
But one day you’ll be gone, my friend
The same relates to me
What would you say, if there’s no end
To lives, that we can't see?
