Refutation Poems

Finally my blood began to coagulate,
and stopped to seep out of the slashed heart,
lacerated in the tempest of turmoil
by the sharp shards of your refutation.

In the memory meadow I found a crack split open
in the longing ledge of my hypnotized heart,
where the sole sapling of love bloomed in brilliance,
freed from the compelled confinement of isolation.

In your embrace my senses gracefully turned
into rhapsodic rhythm of heart enchanted within,
set the course of the lingering love so long latent
to sail in the sensuous stream of my yearning.

In the tormenting torrent of zooming zephyr,
as you drifted away unconcerned past me,
and blew a devastating storm of apathy,
my fragmented fervent feeling became rapture ruins.

Your flouting indifferent footsteps trampled
my emotive flower as you departed uncaring,
its crumbled petals made a wreath
for the bleeding bits of my broken heart.

In the flow of time I saw the essence of my soul,
its healing measures created the concerto of clotting,
as liquid lines turned into coalesced connection,
the splendorous suture made my heart whole again.

Siddhartha

Divinity’s candle
stays burning alive
not born or created
conceived or contrived

Its light from the center
forever shines through
the moment’s unveiling
delivering you

To places all knowing
through spaces unknown
the mix in the crucible
its myth to atone

The vision self-granted
when time is deposed
confirmed refutation
— with nothing to know

Premium MemberRepristination

Repristination of our nation
calls for hours of restoration.
Political powers hold their station
in hopes of that next election elation,
glad of their occupation
though to us it is agitation.
Perhaps we can find a situation
wherein we voice our refutation
of their personal preoccupation,
without instigation
or castigation.

Premium MemberShotgun and the Wind

As we neared our destination
Heard a loud reverberation
Almost instant suffocation
Windows down for ventilation
First a little accusation
Followed by a refutation
Then he says it’s defamation
An unjust adjudication
One quick breath in desperation
Then I paused my respiration
Dare not risk an inhalation
Fumes so bad they’d kill a nation
Cigarette for relaxation
Struck a match then detonation
Leapt out to avoid cremation
Went back for my charred Alsatian

Our loving sportsman, Sen. Pacman
Never missed a chance of being a samaritan
His humility and hard work earned him great reputation
And yet his whole body endured more refutation.

Still Naked

Naked with no laurels for my glory could I yawp in

Awe of other poets’ winning well versed script though

Kinder to myself and fellow soupers do I give merit

Eject my sulking disappointment from the scene and

Defuse what was as to denude again the naked truth

Refutational Reputation

What is a reputation?
What meaning does this word hold?
Seems a fickle, intangible thing.
Changes, as I fashion my mould.
Shifting sand serving foundation.
Island mansion housing past sin.
Life sentence of judgment.
A battle designed not to win.
Built on other people's judgement.
Erroneous and fallible, they may be.
Nobody can truly be happy,
without accepting self, truthfully.
Don't let others dictate who you are.
Reputation is an improvable theory.
Let principles be your guidlines.
They can answer the character query.
Reject the lie pushed upon you.
Another person's life-prison view.
Everything in life is dynamic.
Relative, and never the same for two.
They never have the whole story.
I could care less what others think.
Circumstances change faster
than a hummingbird can blink.
So spew forth my reputation.
It's something I don't believe in.
You have no idea where I'm going,
much less, where I begin.
Where I have been,
or with what I have to contend.
So, for your inkling of mentation.
Your summary of my living work.
I bring you my simple refutation.
You speak through your own murk.

We Bend but Never Break

Stand your ground the Monarchs cry
defend our power, do not ask why
Know we rule by our divine right
murder so easily with our might!

Bow down to kiss our Godly feet
we are the best you will ever meet
Know your place and all is fine
now pick the grapes, stomp the wine!

We stand above the shining light
ordering peons to slave and fight
Get cracking , do as you are told
if lucky, you'll work until very old!

the refutation......

Stand there in your deep disgrace
vainly thinking to be a better race
We searched and found freedom's call
you bow or else you will fall!

On bended knee beg for our help
bark, bark , you surly little welp
Learn your place to stay alive
tread water or else take a dive!

We stand in great defiant cause
no longer obey your stupid laws
Obey meekly and you just may live
that's most you get , more we'll never give!

Robert J. Lindley, August 3rd, 1974

Written when I was 21 years old, so full of piss and vinegar!
Youth has the advantage of - energy and eagerness....

Titus 1:15

I too gazed and never saw or knew
But what I knew before
Perspectives of my own point of view
That made me excited and sure
Then leaving it all, I more foolish still
Beacame, and bore the jeers
That could not outweigh the joy of will
Consuming tasks that others fear
                       ii
And he, turned inside out for the laugh
Say look again, his private mind piles
Explorers and blunderers with thin raft
Down the rapids, where proof defiles
Not his craft that sturdily surge the flow
But theirs who with self lense pine to see
What they have taught by fears to know.
Yet none question the strange consistency
With so many pieces of that expectation
That forms the norm that achieve ill goals
I offer no other sublime, no more refutation
But hold to my intents though tempest howls.
Laugh then, I shall not stutter this to repeat
But gladly engage my choice that well brings
The adventurer, self-certain, every heat.
My ash shall only show my sleep, but no stings.

Another Creep

Another guy
another creep
just came in
and swept her right off her feet
She fell for his lies
as she looked into his eyes
She just failed to see
he was nothing but trouble
his bad reputation
she fought off with her blind refutation

Cold Front

There comes claret coldness
on the land, creeping haze
heralding change.

It is a moody mist—
an earthen kiss,
a lingering at grave’s lip
that lifts us away.

Temperatures fall
in flaxen fields of gray—
a soft hiss of rain
heckles sky.

There is a coldness
in blood, a letting,
a lost begetting of time
and landscape.

The hard freeze is near—
a sheer plunge, a refutation
of words that warm souls,
send us beyond clouds
to light—
cold and bright
as cracked mirrors
of winter lakes
spilling empty
our opal eyes.
