Sleepless

Every binge keeps getting longer
The emptiness growing stronger & stronger
Her only wish is that you never wrong her
Fighting to hold on to a dream
we never could've imagined was real
Grasping onto the only thing
that ever made us really feel
Knowing this was truely the real deal
....Confused...
hating & loving our past
Wishing with everything we have
that what we created together will last
Playing tug of war with the ecstasy & pain
knowing deep down forgiveness is
the only chance to gain
N still refusing to just let our past mistakes go
Destroying what we searched for for so long...
our only real home
Js the thought of being alone
Rips & tears at our already damaged souls

Lila, at Play

The world conforms to the wishes of those in it
Not necessarily to what we want
But certainly to what we need
Mirror-like in reflecting all we bring
Yielding to all we project.

And so cultures throughout history
Create their own world view paradigms
For the next to build on
Or tear down.

The modern world is still the age of reason
Ruled by logic and mechanical processes,
But it hasn’t always been so
And it won’t always be so.
The world as it is
Conforms, mechanically or playfully
And that depends on us.

I don’t know about you,
But all things being equal,
I’d rather live in a playful world,
Not one devoid of reason
And immersed in magic and mystery,
But one in playful balance.

Where plants can talk and animals listen
Where sunlight heals and sings
Its ancient song
Weaving lattice bridges
To distant stars
Across time and space, mind and matter,
Linking then and now, us and them
Together.

Mysteriousness and sacredness

Wished words, universes, wanted new lives
Serial lives, never-ending infinity of desire

I need this life, I want this life, in my heart
I want to do it, the mystery, and the real light

The only one, the living sacredness of life
Here is not a tale of the mysterious kind

In the human world, this is just a movie of the fantasy mind
This is the secret of life, just believe me, oh life

I know the truth. I know that. The fantasy is real life
We are just living in our minds. Collectively, this is sick blind

Yes. We are blind. Open your wings, and just fly, and fly
In the space, in the sky, and find your new life in heaven

Heaven is the true world, not just a religious desire
Jesus said, “In my Father’s house are many rooms.”

“This is the reality. All the words are true”, Satan said
Heavens. Universes. And Mysteriousness Sacredness is

The atmospheres of those planets
This is the reality
Everybody is a saint
If will arrive there

Free Fall

Jumping quickly
out
of known security
into
animation, suspended
above
hard reality
in
momentless time.

Gliding smoothly
through
unknown thoughts
past
unlimited dreams
near
unlived fantasy.

Landing finally
midst
broken dreams
of
desired wishes.

Reflecting quickly
upon
what could have been.

Knowing it never was.

The Constant Conflict

The lurking demons,
Lying deep down within me,
Strive against my good.

Premium Member Between Denial and Reality

You’re not here with me tonight
But you haven’t been in awhile
I believe you’re coming home again
That’s the beauty of being in denial

That ship has long ago set sail
Any bridges burned and torn down
With my shattered heart and regrets
I’m a failed king without a crown

I turned a love so amazing and pure
Into this loneliness and heartbreak
With out of my life is falling all apart
I caused more pain than I can take

I’m searching for any sign of hope
Stuck between denial and reality
Praying you will knowing you won’t
Some day come back home to me

THINKING THAT YOU THOUGHT

As if seeping through the paper.  Words;
                     Just seem to disappear.
        Yet absent are the memories,
          From only minutes, so near..

                 Thinking that you thought,
               as you think about the memory;
A trip to the store or
                       something you bought.

             Quickly forgotten as you stumble mid- sentence;
A place you now reside, comes to light
                                        In bright eyes.

             A place soon forgotten, to you and you alone;
While those around you deal with each forgotten
Like another painful death has falling upon.
                                Yet each one now marked
                                              Unknown....

             As memories fade like the scent of cologne;
                         Thinking that you thought
as you think about the memories
                                          All alone...

Premium Member A Good Sense Of Humour Blunts The Sharp Blades Of Reality

So many times, I've held my head low
So many times, I've taken a blow
Somehow, some way, I've pulled on my strings
And found some kind of way to better some things
Take for instance, When I hear a bad rumor
I say to myself- with a good sense of humour
"As bad as it is, someone has it a lot worse than me"
Yet someone's got it worse than them; undoubtedly
I tell all my friends, my children and wife
We all need to have humour installed in our life
A keen sense of humour can help in ways
That could make someone feel better in their toughest days
Life's dull without humour, and it could be quite a bore
We all need to have humour, need I say any more
Humour has helped me to connect all the dots
When I've been tied up- it untangled the knots
Humour is nice, it often makes me smile
It's nice to hear some good humour once in a while
The rewards will reap good and most likely be kind
So, I'll share my good humour with you...
That is, of course... If you don't mind

A good sense of humour blunts the sharp blade of reality poetry contest

Witty words keep me sane
A giggle eases, life’s pain
When times are trying
Laugh through the rain
Reroute the grooves
Soften the grain

With faces stiff
A snooty drift
Good humor sees
Life is a gift

Minus a grin
Hard work won’t win
May spot the crowd
But won’t fit in

So when you choose
Smile over frown
You’ll lift the blues
A joyful sound

Premium Member Great Expectations

Everywhere I look I see the effect
Of great expectations washed up
On the shore of reality.

I know it’s a projection,
But I see it in the faces of everyone
From young to old, happy to sad
And know it is true for them too,
Whether they have accepted it
Or are still rejecting it
Caught in arrested development
In some stage of grief.

It’s life after all
To expect things to go our way,
And life to have them eventually
And always go otherwise.

It’s what makes us grow
Tough on the outside
And resilient within,
Yet still no matter how tough and wise,
Within there is the pain and sadness
Of being human,
Having gone through gain and loss
And of seeing others go through the same.

I know it’s projection on my part
But I also know
That’s my part of humanity.

Premium Member Taking A Break From Reality

Don't feel offended
if I come across as flat,
It'll be cause I'll rather
dream than be alive,
I love the fan on full force
as under my sheets,
I have to double wrap
for any comfort,
& its easier to sleep
while freezing.

My dreams to me,
are where,
I need to be.
There's another
universe
I so much desire.
My dreams
without
the nightmares
are constant
reminders.
Flat-ness
of sitting
up for hours
is no life.
May as well sleep
and be
in my circle
of comfort ,

Safety
but hated
in the real world
I had a chance
and he can't
wake
most mornings
either.
His graying
and barely
able walking,
I wish
he could
be born
back
in Eden.

Unpredictably Predictable

Feelings, like storms, disrupt the inner peace and leave the future uncertain

Hopes, like mountains, seen and far away to reach

Desires, like eternal, keeps running and stop’s nowhere

Thoughts, like lightning, shine, disappear, and keeps coming

Tears, like rains, clear the clouds and leave it’s
Sign

Life, like ocean meets river, people comes from various channels with infinite waves, some to live and some to leave

Burden Child

You were never meant to be a vessel of sorrow,
Yet the world placed its trembling hands on you.
A child seen as an outcast has no place here, they said,
Treated like a beast than an actual human being.

A childhood of watching, listening, holding secrets like sharp stones in tender palms,
Smiles practiced, tears swallowed, the weight of others pressing on small shoulders.

Burden child, you've learnt to be strong before what strong actually means, to stand silent so others could rest to give warmth while shivering.
Learnt to be independent and caring, even letting others walk on you like a rug, with no absolute care in the world.

Burden child, you grow too quickly, carrying griefs that do not belong to,
You grew to become a kind- hearted person but it seems that reality labelled you as burden.

Burden child, your name will not be a burden, but a survivor, and even more than that... light
