“No costume can make one more beautiful than a sweet smile. So, smile as much as you can. It will loosen your muscles and lighten others’ hearts.” ~ By Poet
Try to spread some cheer with a happy smile,
Giving a feeling that life is worthwhile.
Smile lightens the tedium of the mile,
Warming many hearts without any guile.
By creating in others a sweet smile,
We're scripting for us a better profile.
A sweet smile can make everything look bright,
Igniting the dark world with dazzling light.
It can lift everyone from sorrows blight,
Making the murky lives filled with delight.
A smile can brighten even the dark night,
Removing from all, sorrow’s harsh onslaught.
A smile can calm even a troubled sea,
Bringing such benign peace to you and me.
Maybe it's the face that we put on,
That makes us feel like everything is alright,
But we are all soo broken,
That it weighs heavily when we take it off at night.
We play pretend,
Like we know what's going on inside,
But the truth,
It's always been a losing fight.
We are all born grey,
All of us are,
May be some darker than others,
The ones drowning at the bar.
We are all losing the fight to life,
It was from the beginning, a losing bet,
The tiny glimpses of love and happiness blinds us,
The truth! We are all trying to get by before death.
Life gets us all,
It spares not a single one,
So put that face back on again,
Atleast try to have some fun,
So put that face back on again,
And find that reason under the sun.
When you look into my eyes
I put on a disguise
I am forever filled with hatred
You act as if everything is sacred
When you act like you are wise
I put on a disguise
You will walk away
I am always filled with rage
When I look to you, I criticize,
I put on a disguise
This, not revealed for years.
Now it puts me to tears
Should a woman put on trousers?
Yep: ones that don’t men make browsers:
That let Top Secrets remain secret;
Documents eyes should not just meet:
Trousers that won’t hatch Internets,
Lust cause to beat its castanets…
Trousers fully masking Womanhood,
Easily The Misunderstood:
Sometimes, seeming to say “Draw close,
So that you may pick up your Rose…
Women may be free with trousers
But trousers could turn howitzers:
Pastors and Imams gunning down,
Priests causing to smile who should frown,
Maiden forcing to dump her gown;
Strongly shake the firmest crown!
And may men put on the skirt?
Yeah: if their trousers packed up dirt
And nearing it could image hurt
Worse than a woman’s for Shirt.
let’s go beachcombing at midnight
we’ll get a nice moontan, although slight
and maybe we’ll find a stray camellia
straight from the shores of sunny Astraylia
I had a friend, an adroit dreamer
he hung himself with a guitar string
and then I met you, my avid diva
so put on your shoes, your dancing shoes
and let’s dance swing while beachcombing
I’m too flummoxed and too transfixed
from what was there among the debris
a message in the bottle – for us
and I’m under your spell now, bewitched
since you’re a virgin child of the sea
and together we can truly be free
dancing the swing every night with no fuss
Put on your night shoes, my beautiful dear,
and put on your gossamer gown.
Adorn your neck with the iridescence
of opal, and let your hair down!
Your tresses cascading – a blonde waterfall -
let them flow! Then to emphasize
a chatoyant sheen, use the jet black
of liner on your jade green eyes!
On lips that are dulcet, use a soft pink
like cherry tree blossoms in spring.
Flourescence they’ll see with you on my arms,
for darling, you’ll be flowering!
Dinner; then on the pool deck we’ll Samba,
and under a plethora of
stars we see dancing above our cruise ship,
we will outshine them all with our love!

We Would Put on Pants and Shirt
We would put on our pants and shirt,
Then after that were placed on alert;
Were well trained;
Even when rained,
And we had ended up hitting the dirt.

E-ach day, put on the wedding ring,
D-on't hide it from the sunlight;
W-ear it wherever you are,

J-ust put on the wedding ring,
O-r the love will slowly fade;
R-emain faithful forever,
I-nstead of being afraid.
A-pril nineteenth Wednesday,
R-emember your day of marriage;
A-n anniversary is important,
R-egardless of your age.
A-fter years of living together,
C-ouple's union is a blessing;
A-im to last a lifetime,
P-ut on the wedding ring.
How did I find such a man as this?
How can we share such happiness?
Of course I said yes, I put on the ring
Excited, elated, of what the world will bring
But more than the wedding- the frills and the lace
It's to be forever within his tender embrace
C-old chilling raindrop
H-as left Monday night;
R-ising sun above the horizon
I-s setting things aright.
S-eventh day February breaks,
T-wilight and dusk are over;
I-t's a beautiful Tuesday,

O-pening the day with warmth,
R-ays erase the heartache.
E-arly morn has broken,
N-o more mist in the meadow;
C-old chill has vanished,
E-ven the deepest sorrow.
F-ill your heart with thrill,
U-nder the blue skyline;
L-et the clouds stay white,
G-ood weather remains fine.
E-very ocean or sea
N-ever hides from the beacon;
C-omfort and safety are certain,
I-f the life vest is put

Let us put on humility,
Even being on center stage;
Remain meek and modest amid
Honor, glory, praise, and prestige.
Meekness may elicit picture
Of someone saying 'I was wrong';
Or one telling 'I need help' from
A certain group he does belong.
Yes, it brings into mind of one
Not expecting royal treatment;
Remaining lowly and humble,
Even if he is prominent.
It further raises one's image
Of putting others' concern first;
Reaching down to other people
From pedestal of interest.
The lowliness leads to wisdom,
While the arrogance to disgrace;
The former ends in accolade,
As the latter in shame of face.
Humility brings wealth and life,
While the ego castigation;
Modesty makes joy and gladness,
As pride puts one in destruction.
Hat in hand truly gains guidance,
As cap on head spawns misery;
Clothe not ourselves with boastfulness,
Let us put on humility.
Fate met with life on a crossroad,
they saw me looking both ways,
hesitant to take any merging path;
fear overcame me, numbing my senses,
and frozen like Alaskan ice, I stood there.
Fate asked life to put dreams on hold,
but she protested with an astute reply,
" He's old, a huge debt you owe him! "
I waited while they battled with words;
a rushing thought invaded me , " Go! "
And I started running, not listening to them;
I realized that fate is what we make of it.
I remembered the card reader who suggested
I wore a talisman for good luck, I ignored her.
If in defeat I mourn, or in triumph I cheer...
the voice that I heeded was a good omen.
I have lived longer than any true or untrue friend;
at their tombstones I stand and grieve their loss,
perhaps The Higher Power added years to this life
to recompense me for my patience and long wait.
