The Maker : Knit and Purl
The Maker wields the needles
of predestination and free will,
One in each strong, talented hand.
Knitting the yarn and thread of our lives
Into the fabric of time with such love.
Knit ,with predestination;
His will is done.
Purl ,with free will;
Our choices made.
Knit and purl, purl and knit,
The pattern known to Him and yet
allowed to be as it is, who it is.
It is when choice agrees with His will
That the pattern becomes
as beautiful as He intended.
Until the tapestry of lives
form who we are, why we are.
Interlocking with others,
Becoming part of the
pattern of all things.
The Enemy cuts
With sharp shears of deceit.
Maniacally ripping jagged holes.
The Maker patiently mends
With healing truth and love.
Knit and purl, purl and knit
Until we are whole again.

Form: I do not know?
I'd like to be dressed
In stretched clothes that you're wearing like a taming.
I wouldn't try to climb on the fabric,
To climb with elbows on the shoulders.
I would be closer to you
Exploring attire
From the inside .

Yes,
Knit one
Purl two,
Dropped a stitch.
Knit one
Purl two,
Then, the intrusion of you,
In between the lines that
Tell how this cashmere wrap
Will take shape.
Knit one
Purl two,
Start again,
Don't let it get the best of you,
Although this pattern is for
Beginners.
Now your voice!
Lord, I am lost!
Knit one
Purl two
Try again tomorrow!

The clicking needles replaced by whoosh
as wool loops interlock
the rapid growing fabric - swoosh
the pattern in punched blocks.
No knit one purl to rib a cuff
the endless counting past
but really I have had enough
the joy in craft is lost.
To set a pattern into its place
and feel the wool in hand
no machine can ever replace
the craft a knitter’s planned
