Premium MemberI KNOW NOT

I know not who I am
I know I'm a veteran

I know not what I can do
I know words can challenge you

I know not if my words are expressive
I know my words are not expensive

I know not if my words are curt
I know that there not written to hurt

I know not if my work is liked
I know I won't be psyched

I know my words help me
Brought my life to infinity

Premium MemberPsyched Out

   brittle as a tiny twig
the girl seemed not to grow

   strange, her appetite
     drawn out, her nights

   stumped the psychiatrists
     out went the lights

I Chased a Girl

I chased a girl and I liked it
I chased her to the end
I chased her where she fell to
I chased her for a friend

I asked her where she was
I asked her what she liked
She told me of her past
She told me what is psyched

I said we'd meet again
I said I wish her well
I left her for her end
I left her to see Hell

We went our separate ways
We left for better days
Off to see the world
Off to see new stays

Premium MemberOn An Adventure

I am in great shape because I am going on an adventure.
With one of my favorite people in the universe, my granddaughter.
We are going on an eight hour road trip, and I am psyched.
She is talkative and fun, and this happens today!

This week has been marvelous. I have finished eight paintings.
Have started on three new ones and have spoken to ten friends.
I am relaxed, almost completely stress free after five weeks of vacation.
I have a bit of twinge in my lower back, but I can control it with salve.

Life is exciting and fun. I have turned out ten poems a day for a year.
My ten grandchildren are doing well, and my dogs keep us joyful.
My husband adores me after fifty-five years, which is remarkable.
Unless you have met my husband; he is ga-ga for me.

How are you?

Premium MemberFour Cups of Wine

~ A Passover Tale ~

Four cups of wine
  They say I must drink
I’m getting too old for this
  Don't you think...

But I psyched myself up
  and drank the first cup
The room didn’t spin
  I thought I might win…

Then came a second cup
  and later a third
I glanced at my son
  He looked like a bird…

Came time for cup the fourth
  but I took the fifth
So as not to incriminate myself ~
  converted to Buddhism forthwith...

Now if ever there was a faerie
  tale, this one is it
I had better stop here
‘fore' that wine drowns my wit

So You Think You'Re a Poet

"So you think you're a poet?"
Yes, stranger, I do.
"You merely post poems on Poet's Stew!!!"

Sir, I don't think it's nice
"What did I say?"
That you won't stay away.

"That's awful unfair..."
Now listen here! Take a look!
I bet you can't say that your poem is in a book.

I just got my Poetry Anthology yesterday, and I'm psyched that my poem is in a book along with many other talented poets' works!!!

Trying To Write

He beguiled me
 with his smile.........

Meanwhile:

Its a struggle to write;
inspite on my mind
 being all uptight
and alight
with excitement
It's a plight
frought with
delight
when applied
to provide sight
that ignites
being psyched
to new heights
and reunites
rewrites
priced into bytes
dispite
providing a guide
to decide
and set aside
my writing style...

Premium MemberTo All the Mean Soup Babies You Know Who You Are

Its not about how good you are its all about being liked
give them an inch of gossip watch how they get psyched
sticking together like a band of thieves ignoring the rest,
they believe what they hear and never put it to the test;

Its not about how kind you are if they are jealous green,
they'll cut you up to size just about their size, its mean
contests oh contests, I won't say much upon that subject
I have had my good share of "no can do" constant rejects

I got a private mail one day, " hurry fix your poem please"
only to find out it was already judged, and it was just a tease
I got another private mail, " too bad you didn't make it , dear"
I didn't hold my breath darling, your next contest I won't smear

When it comes to making friends on site I only have a very few
its a big site and if I miss you, its never intentional, the slue
if you don't like me well there is nothing I can do, "soup babies",
I'm a lover not a fighter, I don't bite and I don't have rabies...

One That Dreams of Someone Else

Always look sad when i listen to music
haven't seen a sky i didn't like
never met a puddle unsplashed
Ever dare i psyched
Seen the daylight change
the night time glowed embarrassed
I've kept a second longer
Held attention till it gasped for breath
Had a screaming contest with Munchies grotesque
cut silence with a scalpel blade
What have i made of myself
one that dreams of someone else
i didn't think
therefore
i'm not

Day Camp

My grandkids are lucky; they’re going to camp.
To them, it’s the summertime norm.
The owners have naturally had to revamp
So to Covid rules they can conform.

Each camp group’s a “pod” with ten kids who’ve been sent
And they keep to themselves all day long.
No joining with others for any event,
Not a swim or a ball game or song.

The counselors are masked, social distance observed
And for every day since camp’s begun,
My grands come home psyched, with their joy unreserved
And describe all their hours of fun.

Not all children have access to places like this
And I feel for the ones who lose out,
But I’m happy my grandkids do not have to miss
What the summertime should be about.

Premium MemberA Win-Win

I do not fear death
or grieve my last breath.
I'll leave this physical realm,
to what, I don't know
but I'm psyched to go,
the feeling should overwhelm.

Relinquishing life
for an afterlife
curiosity numbs fear
though life bonds sever.
My soul's forever
and faith helps me persevere.

To find there's a God
that isn't a fraud
would be all I could hope for,
if heaven is true
then God's love is too
and thus, my spirit shall soar.

If there's naught but sleep
there's no need to weep.
I'll blink out, finally free
and never feel pain
or anguish again;
it seems a win-win to me.

Panglossian Perspective Pivoting Poze Pretentiously

Pacific, pacifist pampered papa
parading par excellent paragon

particularly partisan) parvenu
passive, passionately paternalistically patient,

paunchy, peaceably pepped, perfectionist,
perceptive, perennially perky, permissively
persevering, persistently personable, perspicuous,

Premium MemberLooking Forward To Your Visit

I heard my husband say,
Oh, good. You'll be here in forty minutes.
How wonderful!
Yes, the cousins of the cousins were coming.
Less than an hour's notice.
We'd been trying to get them here for ten years.
They had never accepted.
Now that we had the car packed, and
the kids were psyched about going
to a water park for the weekend,
We were staying.
I stared at my husband, incredulously.
Why didn't you tell them?
He put up his hands, shrugged, helplessly.
These were his mother's cousins.
In their 80's.
They would never understand.
They were already on their way,
Expecting us to be delighted.
The hardest part of the weekend
was not unpacking the car
or keeping the disappointed
children quiet.
The hardest part was
not strangling
a man.

At Michael's Wedding

All the Schalls were dancing
At the wedding of a son.
Exuberance was in the air,
The crowd psyched up for fun.

As friends and family joined them
And the DJ fanned the fire,
We reveled in the mirth and spirits
Couldn't get much higher.

There were people on the dance floor
I'd last seen when they were young.
How delightful then to watch them,
From their childhood shells now sprung.

While my husband twirled my daughter
As the music's charms were heeded,
What I hoped for was that image
To be conjured up as needed.
