Day Camp

My grandkids are lucky; they’re going to camp. To them, it’s the summertime norm. The owners have naturally had to revamp So to Covid rules they can conform. Each camp group’s a “pod” with ten kids who’ve been sent And they keep to themselves all day long. No joining with others for any event, Not a swim or a ball game or song. The counselors are masked, social distance observed And for every day since camp’s begun, My grands come home psyched, with their joy unreserved And describe all their hours of fun. Not all children have access to places like this And I feel for the ones who lose out, But I’m happy my grandkids do not have to miss What the summertime should be about.

so wonderful the children have access to the summer camps albeit with 'the new normal' social distancing and ppe - as long as they have fun that is the most important thing:-) Hope you and hubby are ok:-) hugs jan xx

I am totally glad to hear this; for normal is so abnormal now in so many other ways. Great one Ilene.

Amen, ilene. For me camp is not just a summer activity, it is an integral part of a child's development. I spent several summers camp counseling and watched the transformation in children! Thank you bringing back such wonderful memories!

Even though there are restrictions in place it's nice to have a bit of normality for them. Enjoy your weekend Tom
