Escaping pain and turmoil from the world of men,
I walked away and disappeared
into a forest by a gurgling spring,
and there, I found the many shades of green
calmed me and soothed my wounded soul.
Where shafts of sunlight found the glittering water,
and beauty was a kind of psychic balm,
I wondered how this place could be so quiet,
when so much, in fact, was going on.
A breeze song whistled, causing reeds to sway,
as rock and stream danced a happy jig,
and, within, inch long minnows swam.

Enjoying His blessings
Exposed to His benefits
Experiencing His bountifulness
Expressing His bonuses with bliss
Empowered by His building-up braces
2Kings 5:1 Praise be to the Lord Who gives us to deliverance;
thus; we should always:
Seek His will
Search His way
Stay in His work
Salute His wisdom
Serve Him worshipfully
2Kings 5:18 Praise be to the Saviour for
granting to us His pardon that:
Heals us from our hopelessness
Honours our honesty
Humbles our haughtiness
Hearkens to our helplessness
Hallows our hearts by His holiness. Amen!

The heady scent
Changing through the seasons.
As spring is no longer embryonic
It’s adolescence showing through.
Swathes of yellow
Popping buds and seed pods as the sun hits,
An audible accompaniment
To the visual spectacle.
Each year I walk
Through the forest fringes
Heathland meets dense wood
And each time when the scent hits
Initially for that year
My mind is transported.
To lazy hot summer days,
Beaches far away.
Sun glistening on caramel skin
All triggered by the scent.
The gorse fills the air with coconut,
The telltale sun cream aroma,
A reminder of days gone by,
Summer to come
Sweet blossoms heavy with nectar
Ambrosia to nourish the beasts
Dwelling in the margins of the forest.
And as the Beltane passes,
Air filled with smoke from
A nonet of timbers
Taking us into the summers dawning,
The fresh yellow darkens,
The scent matures
No longer coconut richness
And once again the spring has retreated
Time advancing on toward the hazy days.
WATER'S BENEFITS
Water is needed for life
This liquid is not to be shunned
When food is quite rare
And you only have air
That water to quench will be nice
So with the Water of Life
Our Lord provides against sin
If you see its value
And let it revive you
You'll be glad you took my advice

Falling

A kitchen table, only two sit here today
The couple are the characters in all scenes
In control, so it seems
Arms outstretched, hands clasped tightly
Words spoken slowly not sprightly
Age has wearied, love unbroken
Memories shared, emotions showing
Both so proud of their offspring
Occasional visits are now slowing
Health an issue needing help
Doors always closed, the message sent
Blinds never drawn, what is meant?
All the signs but who would know?
Whom to call their souls to reap
Whispered talk of the pact for leaving
Together always, that is the action
Hands grip tighter, whispers continue
Keeping secrets all in fashion
All now silent, just facial expressions
All in order, time to bow
Tears flow at such simple words
Will they miss us?
How will they know?
Curtains closing, leaving stage right
The day will now turn into night.

A strategy to humble

and give right to those
Who wish to be rebellious.
Who's mercies speaks of God.
That man's trust is spoken
In as situation.
Work available to encourage
Folk to work.
Might we labor and chore
So we might than enjoy the
Intimacies with those who
are legally able to marry.
Right and rightousness.

nature provides all
from food, to housing, to love
do not hoard its gifts
Moving roadblock below the speed posted,
Death, hurt, and evil blaring on every FM station,
Daily planner shifting underneath, nearly toasted,
Gray skies, dark earth, frame mid morning's creation.
Now minutes late for an important meeting,
Neither bumper losing, or gaining ground,
Cell phone abuzz with opportunities fleeting,
Heart hastens, numbed head starting to pound.
Last chance for alternate route passes,
Glimpses of freedom, between, offers hope,
A ray of sunshine through dirty glasses?
Eyes become fixed for this stranded myope.
Attention is drawn to that which is not,
Gleaming letters below Penske in gold,
Swiped clean in a deliberate thought,
"God is Good" shines for all to behold.
If confused, look again at the snapshot.

Hillary Provides Food
Hillary provides food which will nourish
So we comfortably exist and flourish
Remain happy and be contented
And to all of this God has consented
Our love of country we should cherish.

In certain surge of feelings;
Feel time reveal thrills that glow
In easy urge of seeing.
Think upon ways that joy flings
In fleeting stay as time stops;
Sense the warm rays as words sing
Of happy days and tear drops.
Urge of grand lot frees true sight
In hidden springs that now flow;
Surge of clear thoughts bring delight
As wise words fling a warm glow.
Look beyond looks to see true
The path within your warm heart;
Read beyond book the real you
In depths unseen where love starts.
Line after line now emerge
To mellow blur in fond strains;
Word thoughts divine in sure surge
In spread and spur odd yet plain.
Go beyond scheme to feel bliss
In actual trace of free voice;
Abide sweet dream here like this
To fill fond face with raw poise.
Play provides more that you see
For love lives here in embrace;
Words can now spore what will be
A magic cheer that firm grace.
