Love Provides Exit Plan

A kitchen table, only two sit here today The couple are the characters in all scenes In control, so it seems. Arms outstretched, hands clasped tightly Words spoken slowly not sprightly. Age has wearied, love unbroken Memories shared, emotions showing. Both so proud of their offspring Occasional visits are now slowing. Health an issue needing help Doors always closed, the message sent Blinds never drawn, what is meant? All the signs but who would know. Whom to call their souls to reap Whispered talk of the pact for leaving Together always, that is the action. Hands grip tighter, whispers continue Keeping secrets all in fashion All now silent, just facial expressions. All in order, time to bow Tears flow at such simple words. Will they miss us? How will they know? Curtains closing, leaving stage right The day will now turn into night.
