Dirt Again

Her feet crush the coarse dirt,
settling from foot to foot in approach.
Tendons flex; bones remember weather.
Wings—thin bone, taut skin—rise,
each feather catching a gale it cannot see the end of.
The body lunges.

Wings propel upward as a single draft is caught.
Legs lock into a streamlined stance,

and the body relaxes, gliding on years to come.

The dirt seems never to have existed;
storm gales he dark sea below.
Flying spray and rising mist crust her beak with salt.
Endless currents shepherd the locked wings through thick fog.

Half in repose,
sweeping the air—never too high, never too low.
She has always been this far from land, and never.
Seasons crust her wings like old weather she can’t shed.

Then the wind snaps. A warning.
Wings unfold.
A wall of petrichor and sulfur rises ahead.
Feathers shudder.
Tendons unlock. Her body loosens.
Feet strike giving soil,
legs search for footing as friction returns.
Salt gives way to soil.
The dirt is dirt again.

Premium Member STANDARDS WITHIN THE HEAVENS

Standards within the Heavens
Virtues with honor
Calm waters, but focused
Crystal clear inspiration
The Sun glistens with assurance
Strength enduring
Sea creations refresh through the waters
Treasures deep
Safe keeping below
Boats and swimmers enjoy the cool feel
I am the ocean being ideal
I understand being the ocean
Even the Sea Gods wonder with curious
My waves with convictions and thinking its own
What are they thinking?
Each wave having a message in being caution
Sometimes the waves can propel during a storm
Other times being calm
Through every storm
There is a lighthouse watch
The Heavens create and observe
I am the oceans with vision of horizons
Eyes seeing as far as can be focused
Angles to the shores
Being an ocean
What do you see?
Distance with possibilities beyond the seas and depth of inspiration.

Premium Member Doublethink deceit

broken promises
expectation belied
heart feels anguish
for we have been to lied

double think deceit
where lies the fault line
to aggrandise ego
did not love for love pine

if earth life be a play
by God scripted
is not our consciousness
by each encounter uplifted

some hands hurt us
whilst others heal
why then are we not vibrant
at each point on the Ferris wheel

when someone tells a lie
why is our eye judgmental
to propel our soul’s growth
was not the wound instrumental

after betrayal we forgive
only for self-healing
instead offer loving embrace
invoking God’s grace appealing

oh worthy hermit
rise above the mundane
know we are spirit not form
let love and light reign

Premium Member Street Signs- Walking to Work

'Hospital- this Way' is my familiar street sign,
I park my car, then step out onto dew soaked grass.
Cars whiz past, engines roar in unison.
My footsteps echo onto the pavement as I walk.
Brisk walking strides propel me toward my workplace.
Magpies, in the trees warble their morning greeting.
The crisp clear air bites my uncovered fingers.
People pass by, some ignore, others smile,"Morning"
At the traffic lights I wait to cross, Green Man, my turn
More birds fly overhead, destination unknown.
Around the corner, another cross over-
I stop, take in a full breath, exhale,
Marvel at the feeling of just being alive.
I arrive at the hospital my workplace.

Pool of Tears

Diving in seeking for solace
And a peaceful release of thoughts
Inner quiet in a place of promise
Creates a rhythmic song and a waltz

Initial cold shocks the senses
And a realization there is no breath
Memories hurt. Up with defenses
Fearing now for a sudden death

Completely surreal. Just surrender
Drowning now. Is there no escape?
Flooded with tears without an offender
The mental screams begin to take shape

Plunging deeper, streamline surreal
Kicking hard and longing for survival
In poetic movement. A chance to heal
Surfacing again. A hope for revival

An arm points forward to show the way
The other motions back to where it's been
A labored dance to motion the cares away
In rhythm to propel, flip, and spin again

Distance covered in a pool of tears
Aqua blue represents the entire mood
Troubled thoughts washed in prayers
Stroke to stroke to become subdued

Streamline to memories once again
Kick to the surface to catch a breath
Distance covered to numb the pain
In a pool of tears to a mental death

Albatross

I see it now,
flying low
over silver-spumed waves.
I can enlarge the picture,
zoom into
its bright midnight eyes,
see that it is I,
I that propel these wanderings,
the lone flights
over ever widening oceans,
all those
ever-retreating harbors.
I see now
it is I that seek
that which I was born to find
in every stilled moment.?

Premium Member The Perfume Bottle

Ornate and half-full; the emptiness full of her scent.
Gentle wrists above soft hands,
with perfume’s disappearing sands.
Captured see-through embody;
an immovable body.
The dust gently swept away,
whilst ebb and flow of tears sway.
Purple urn does not consume;
she sleeps sans warm floral bloom.
Ornate and half-full; the emptiness full of her scent.

Blithe lift and douse of precious moments before ascent,
to pulse points of my mother;
romantic kiss of father.
The ring on her hand a splash;
Diamond spills heart throbbing ash.
Still, the soul ne’er sweetened better;
Scent was not a Dear John letter.
La Vie Est Belle Rose, does dare
to linger, last, propel, and share.
Blithe lift and douse of precious moments, before ascent.

Science Friction

Friction can be tricky
if not applied correctly.

None -
creates a slipping hazard on ice.

A little -
causes a blister on your heel.

Too much -
results in the collapse of a relationship.

But just enough -
will ignite a fire
(outdoors to toast a marshmallow,
or in your soul to propel you forward).

The Reason

Days, months and years to all are special,
Because the rate of occurrences are spatial,
A deliberate art of super human,
To propel celebration of event and man,
Even those that are tragically comic.

We hold high birthdays for they are annual crops,
Centurys' first day is sold in a rare kiosk ain't shops,
A new day in a decade is ten years,
Is 1992 calender not as same as 2020 and coming years?
That is also the beauty of leap days.

While some celebrate as...
God and geographers bring mine not like ass,
For I was bore, once in four annuals,
A deep day to find in several biannuals,
As unique as a unicorn.

My birthday, like a sanctuary,
Privileged, get it not a mortuary,
We are those born on February 29th,
Count in fours from 1804 to 2020th,
Should we not celebrate a unique year?

Bliss

When you don’t know
What you can’t do
Then the unimaginable
Comes naturally to you

When you've never seen
What you couldn’t be
Then your vision
Grows wings that keep you free

When you’re not aware of
What tomorrow brings
Then hope is a magnetic springboard
That can attract anything

When your dreams soar unencumbered
By gender, age, ability, or space
Then the very wind will propel your goals
Onto the path of a hero’s gaze

You Are Perfectly Formed

the flaws you see when you look in the mirror
are not visible to the world
stop judging yourself so harshly
stop diminishing your self worth
you are not the sum total of all your failures
nor those missed opportunities in life
you are a child of the Heavenly King
and a sibling to the Lord Jesus the Christ

you are a unique creation of God
individually and perfectly formed
and any slight dents you believe you have
can't stop you from being resilient and strong
they only give more character
and a purpose to manifest
they only add to your life's experience
and propel you to do your best

you are perfectly formed
see yourself as God sees you
and as your loved one's view you as well
for you are an awesome outcome of a life well lived
just go forward and continue to excel

THE WINDOW’s PANE

A spell cast, a net of wonder forever,
Transfixed in mountainous worlds, clever.

Isolated in chosen safe places, deep,
Sublime generosity, secrets to keep.

A portal of experience, a window's grace,
A reprieve from boredom, time and space.

A caress of melancholy, when skies open in rain,
An embrace of hope in sunshine, easing pain.

A pact with the vine leaves, whispers low,
A way to touch the seasons, where soft breezes blow.

Sending morse code-like candle messages bright,
Literally to propel the narrative, in fading light.

Washing my soul in the earliest sunshine bath,
Where spirits rise, along a sunlit path.

Soul inclined to shrivel in confined space, it's true,
A cinema, window a screen, a world anew.

A picture, dipped in hues so grand,
Transient, aching, tentative, grains of sand.

Intend to live as slow as the vista allows to the sky,
An idyllic portrayal, a repeat telecast, a painted dye.
