Premium MemberMy Favorite Poet of Poetry Soup

My favorite Poetry Soup poet, the most honorable L Milton Hankins
His avatar is predominately on the home page, he’s the big tamale
Obey grammar rules and suggestions or you’ll get written spankins
No matter who you are, or where you’re from, the U.S.A. or Somali

A great mentor; informs us about syntax, if you know how to spell well
“Addicted to unnecessary words” superfluous on any subject, in all forms
“Sasquatch” to stirring “Apple Butter” renowned for his fav—the villanelle
Painting lovely scenes in the City of Lights “Christmas at Paris” he adorns

Says it’s so nice to be complimented, it always makes his innards squirm
Distracted by a miserable bully, while enjoying his time here at the Soup
I only get three stanzas, otherwise an essay I’d write like for a mid-term
Or I’d tell you more of the poetess dishing out nasty like a nincompoop!

NOTE:THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE without grammatical symbols the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' & so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and respond thus making the form a two way interplay and often a unique interpretation by the enigma so derived

Treasure the Pleasure of God's Blessings

once i had footprints as tattoos
the art was tasteless
the seed was a hateful hoax

once i had phlegm laced spit in every hair follicle
the gleam was unattractive
the roots were unbalanced and unevenly growing

once i had gnats fronting as a jazz band predominately playing dirges
the rhythm was a compulsive liar
the melody was basically a malady

then you came along
you saw me in all chapters of unkempt
you dried my tears
you gave me shelter
you made me pray with you
you Loved me to Wellness

now i am a better man
now i am smelling like lavender and vanilla
now my heart is richer than my many big pictures
now i know the true meaning of Prosperous Gratitude
now i know what it really feels like to be Definitively Loved
Now I Thank God and Give Him Praise For You.....

now i must go and get myself together and get ready
her funeral starts at 11am
her last words to me were 'You Blessed My Life By My Saving Yours'

Treasure The Pleasure Of God's Blessings......

(This poem is political satire;
don't read if you think you may
be offended. No truth in any of it,
considered by many to be
tasteless -- Not meant to be taken

New strain of Virus detected
just a minute ago! Predominately
in Democrat run cities and states:
Seems to be 3 trillion times more
infective. CDC is calling it the,
S.T.U.P.I.D. Variant. University Staffs
hard-hit! Early signs, loss of Sense-
of-Smell, Gullibility, and increased
fetish for Designer Masks. Best
detected by examination of Cancel
Cultures -- microscopes prohibited
per Fauci. The most vulnerable group
seems to be those who have already
had 4 doses and 2 boosters. To treat
Fauci recommends, 4 doses and 2 boosters
for everyone, preferably administered

Another Karen - a Reverse Poem

My black son
He did not belong
Unwelcome
Unannounced and subsequently
Uninvited
To attend his predominately white Honors math class online
Confirmations abounded
With increasing befuddlement
By the substitute teacher
“Are You Sure?”
By a white classmate
Affirmed
Welcomed
Invited
Permitted to remain
After all
He did belong
My black son

Portrait
By: Tom Wright
1/17/02

At God's easel I commonly gaze,
at my life's portrait, predominately brushed.
Observing indiscriminate brushstrokes through a haze,
I'm rendered by time, aged, but yet un-hushed.

But dried brush strokes, have proven good to me,
no poverty, nor craving, but was my claim.
A master portrait, with blems, for all to see,
with God, both artist, and encompassing frame.

The Air We Breathe Is Provided By
Leaves
By: Tom Wright
10-29-04

Foliage that in spring was chlorophyll laced,
Yielding the comfort of shade for a season.
A leaf’s life span, in thought, I’ve traced,
It’s God’s provision for a complex reason.

Foliage, red, yellow, and gold once hued,
Is now wrinkled and predominately browned.
Settled motionless, packed tight, as if glued,
They gyrated or floated from tree to ground.

This temporary state lasts but a short while,
In wind gust’s they swirled and danced.
Their journey terminates at my compost pile,
When decayed, garden soil is enhanced.

 (Foliage)
To the ground all things eventually return.

Premium MemberInvesting To Thrive

WinLose competitions
evolving
can only emerge from prior ecopolitics
of predominately cooperative relations
transactions.

Prior cooperatively evolving WinWin dominance
is ecologically necessary
and logically implied
to derive anything like
WinLose capital-building economies.

The opposite is not also true.
WinWin cooperations
evolve only as further emergence
from prior cooperative ecopolitical relations,
more resonantly resolving
than WinLose degenerative unraveling.

Lessons In Life Learned

Lessons learned...
                       -are blessings earned…

The fear of the being social
has always brought trepidation,
and in my youth I’d be scared
      to try new escapades-
Severe anxiety with
apprehensive contemplation
wondering if the dismay
          in my heart will escalade.

As I grew older my dread
of certain situations,
just became worse and
           I grew more afraid-
I just couldn’t find any
     comprehendible alleviation,
but I decided it was time to
make new friends who stayed.

So, one day after church I
     took the pastor’s recommendation,
I went up to a nice lady and
a new friend I made-
She was so sweet and welcoming,
           what a relieving sensation,
so gradually my social anxiety
began to fade.

Slowly I learned that there is
       a moral in this illustration,
a taught message was
predominately displayed-
I now believe that in life socializing
              can be a celebration,
and found blessings in lessons...
                      -in taking off my masquerade.

Sinkholes - Prophetic

sinkholes

 suddenly slam

 earth asunder

 do you hear the thunder?

 the rains are coming

can you sense it in the air?

 Chaos everywhere...

 mountains falling

 streams heaving

 rooftops caving

 everyone shaving

 parts of themselves clean

 scoured and plastic

 bereft of all real knowledge

 standing above

 looking down

 sneering

 clearing the way

 for mediocrity

 upholding vile

 impudent waste

 as predominately

Alliteration For the Planet

Wonderful wonders woven within wild.
Titillates theatrical tender thoughts
Consistently creation, contrives conservation concerns.
Ecology evolves equations, entitling entities essence.
Empowering equality, enlarges existence.
Life lovingly leases Longevity.
Biodiversity braces, blatant brutal balding.
Deforestation, destruction devoid due definition.
People physically, plundering planet.
Prevalently procuring, products proscribed
Pilfering practices producing poisonous pollutants.
Greenhouse gases generated, generously grievous.
Temperate temperature’s tempers tumultuous.
Creating Climate changes, causing catastrophes.
Planet purges peril predominately.
Preached, placid platitudes, politicians podiums paced.
loved lives logged listed lost.
Lacuna languished, lessons least learnt.
Losing Life lingers, listing leeward lazily.

my Lord beaten profusely about the head and shoulders each
blow more devastating than its predecessor until
thine eyes rendered nystagmus.

the strain of the world’s sin sowed predominately thy
soul in sorrow in the physical strain of the torture of
thy darkest hour.

I Watch,I Listen

I WATCH my fellow children as I examine adults,
good and bad,very odd results.
I LISTEN to whom I come in contact with,
if lied to I'll still display strength.
I WATCH the news which is always violence
what's on the news, then happens to you
then there's silence.
I LISTEN to other ones hopes
and the outcome is we all have obstacles to cope.
I WATCH I
and come to a conclusion to touch the sky.
I LISTEN to numerous songs
they are predominately beneficial, few project wrongs.
I WATCH time go by
when occupied by what you love time flies.
I LISTEN to the birds in the morning
then escape to the impossible, to hear the lions roaring.
I WATCH my imagination
I LISTEN to my floetry
which is motivation.
