Peace In Our Time

It is what it is
and no mistaking
which no one can deny
by hiding or faking
but if we can
all agree to disagree
and let it be
one day things may
turn out favourably
but the situation currently
is not quite right
in fact it's completely
out of hand
around the world
throughout the land
an act of God is not enough
more than a miracle
is needed
for all mankind
but

Mind Powers

What I’m saying. 
What is decaying. 
I have enough at home. 
Feeling sad as that dome.

The office building over there. 
Is as strange as hair. 
There could be enough. 
But treasure chests are tough. 

Mind powers. 
They told us it would only take hours.
Take as much paper as you want to.

War Between Nuclear Powers

When silence breaks with a siren's cry,
And ash clouds darken the morning sky,
Two nations rise with wrathful might,
Blind to peace, prepared to fight.

Where rivers flowed through fields so wide,
Now burn with rage on either side.
Flags once fluttered in monsoon air,
Now mark the graves of young laid bare.

The tanks roll in, the bombers fly,

It's the power of
Persuasion and suggestion.
Also seduction,
Passion, manipulation:
All the powers of women.

Higher Powers

Courage travels ...
 where reason will not go 

Wisdom teaches ...
what intellect cannot show

Prescience offers ...
what knowledge can’t explain 

Love transient ...
infatuation to remain

A Dream of Higher Powers

The other night
Visiting in a dream a foreign land
We waited in expectation
The arrival of a group of alien dignitaries 
Somehow involved in guiding the culture.

When they approached across the sound
In a dark and rough hand-hewn canoe
I ran out to take pictures
Only to find a half dozen or so headless chickens
Standing patiently in their effortlessly gliding

Is the wind alive? That’s what the Choctaw believed.
The Apache called it, apocryphally, “the breath of the world.”

To them, the wind is the trickster you never see,
a joker on the plain of life.

What’s always arriving and always leaving?

What’s as old as the world, yet forever current?

Powers of Enlightenment

I've noticed our Republic's
IrReligious RightWing Tree of Life v Death
reacts to root-systemic problems
as if oak strong branches
lifted to majestic worshiping heights
of crowning supremacy
need not be concerned
with watering
and feeding democratic roots
of nutrition
nursing organic trust
and nurturing EarthMother empowerment.

Such behavior feels less organically intelligent
than a sacred Tree of MotherEarth

More like a gang 
of Bully Putin Pulpits
and capital addicted

Oft when dusk
crawls on in
its smells as
freshly rotten leaves

its dark
its power is
a wonderful joy
as in those
hearts that
air spells

wickedness and
evils

But as shadows arrive

powers
display
this heart
sends up
its wise
alert flags
and cries
man
the fort lad
for battles
will be waged....

As
twinkling star
spit down
rays of speeding
lights
some hearts
finds pleasure
and joy
for the darkness
it destroys
and the mind
sees
ravishing beauty

Imaginary Friend

Tim was lonely as a child
Tranquil, timid and quite mild
He was considered as weird
But that wasn't what he feared.

He saw people that were dead
Monsters hid under his bed
Voices whispered in his brain
Everyday he was less sane.

Below the surface of his mind
Something of sinister kind
Started to control the boy
Playing with him like a toy.

They were sharing stories…remembering their grandma…
stories they loved to devour…when the eldest asked,?“if Grandma was a superhero…what was her super-power?”

They each took a moment to close their eyes and think on it a while.

“I think her super-power was her smile.”
