Continental Drift, An Old Song

Unsuppression
Exact wild convoluted digressions
Dispatched rap to re ramp tan
Hide all important novelties
As I confuse the vile
Stagnations the ball sawed dust till
Legends found tall
Ballerina indignant
The definition that wouldn't kiss
She wanted rules in verbs
Out of poison
Longing for idiom
We played out a sunlight
So I could pass on to heaven
What he might
A long a line in times
Well righting zincs
Wipe after wipe
I built a heart she never lept

Four cloves to the heart did grow
And removed her shucks from my lies

A picture perfect moment but at a stand still
You can see and even feel a touch that isn't real
Your thoughts and actions are well played out
Waking up and remembering what it's all about
Dreaming of past decisions and present regrets
Making a big promise to someone you never met
How often you see a person possessing no face
At the same time your always in the same place
If you're having a nightmare nothing wakes you
Only the sweet dreams never seem to continue
In your dreams you're never held to a promise
Anything awesome always remains anonymous
You can do things you wouldn't do otherwise
Life in a dream seems to go counterclockwise
Don't give any thoughts to what they may mean
We can escape from reality through our dreams

Mind Games

Playing mind games everyday
What does that get us hurts only you
The one who runs the mouth
It ain't all about you it's all about them
What games you play when you are heading for the end
You be the only one that loses out
We go through our day
Like zombies at night
Praying on the weak
It's a game we all play
In some part of our lives
We want to roll first
We want to take them down
But I don't understand why
The games we play when love is at a close
Hurts only those around
The bigger picture is the one of a family before
It's not about pity choices
Who gets what
Who takes who to the cleaner
This game was played out of love
Out of the odds which weren't in your favor
But it does not have to end with an absolute victory
Because the price is to high
The ones who lose the biggest are your children
So look around just because the building has crumbled
Does not mean the foundation needs to fall to
Carry on and put the mind games aside
Because everyone has a chance to win when you play fair.

A bizarre light show streaked across the sky.
The blinding lightning seemed to explode and electrify.

Vivid flashes of color to the clouds and everything under.
Striking blasts of illumination floodlit the night.
In total awe we eagerly witnessed this amazing sight.
Breaking the silence, more crashes of thunder came booming down.
Deafening the unsuspecting residence of our Sydney town.
A mind boggling spectacle was being played out.
Unable to hear ourselves think, we couldn't even shout.
A memorable night, never happened before, maybe never again.
Now along with the thunder, comes torrents of rain.

Wiped Out

Exhausted played out past the point of no return
and yet while I have breath there's a will
and still the fire within shall burn
but what with all the crooks connivers
cheats con men shuckers and jivers
it's a wonder such a sensitive soul as I
is here now and how quite aliver
tho' neither nor big or small
nothing at all is made to last
as day by day we waste away
and it feels like I'm fading fast
when looking back before lights out
with but one life to spend
lived its span on my terms to the candle's bitter end
and I know when it's time to go all will be as it should
there'll be no regrets along the lines of
if only I'd done it when I could

I Laugh And Smile

When somethings so right
We laughed like children
We were as big as the Universe
We laughed at the sun and smiled at the moon
Choosing to return your smile on this April day
Something feels so right
The Universe echoes forever its beginning of time
I could take you home
The tyrrant of truth at your comnand
There's voices in the sky
Remember the feeling of games we played
A teaspoon of bad is ok
Look down at yourself
Can you leave
Then if you do please come home
In town sacrifice to the late sleepwalkers of the early dawn
A walk in the cold be nice or sooner straight out of fiction
I believe in you
Believe enough of yourself to be you
Cause we played out play
Zoomed by teenager life
We couldn't wait to live the lie
Started already forgetting to laugh

Premium MemberSharp Turns An American Sonnet

I’ll slam with much more originality
than that cadence you chose to copy.
Who are you? Where is your voice?
It’s a fixed game of multiple choice.

You sound just like everyone else,
a rhythm that’s played out but still sells.
Left out too long the ice simply melts,
you ache to forget such repetitive bells.

I’ll slam just a little bit harder and crash,
rather than stay secure inside of a net.
A filed down road is so ambivalent
it lacks the character of sharp turns.

I said what I said let’s have some fun,
breaking the eggshells a battle’s begun.

Do You Feel The Music

Do you feel the music?
Does it capture in your soul
the feelings that got lost in there
as you’ve played out your role?

Have you ever sat and listened,
let it take you far away?
Well, I’ve done it time and again
and I can clearly say -

that nothing else compares.
It’s like a portal out of time,
where you can let things go and heal,
submerged in the sublime.

Cuz life will drag you down,
it happens as we move along.
So, open up and let yourself
be taken by the song.

90 Mile Beach

90 Mile Beach

Watching the waves surrender
The beauty of this dance
Played out like a contract killing

The wind rips at the land like a starving rat
Angry at the moon for the tide
Screaming for answers
She strangles the trees

Barely visible in the blue-black light
A silhouette against the sand
Longing for the horizon
He waits like a wayward anchor

Everyday

What if I change the end of your story,
This question is only to prove your assumptions of my glory,
All the how's, the when's, and why's you try to guess everyday,
Through all the knowledge you think you've attained,
What if someone asked you what are your plans,
And you don't give a direct answer because you really don't understand,
And all of those assumptions you've played out in your mind,
Were never part of the story, or my will for your life,
So all the time you spent on trying to figure things out,
Wondering what would you do if I brought them about,
Was a waste of a senerio that would never come to fruition,
To fill your mind and heart with nothing but distraction,
The anxious thoughts that try to stand in your way,
When I am in control of your every day

Premium MemberLike listening to Mozart

The world has gone mad and it’s on our watch!
The world has gone crazy and humanity’s in a ditch.

Leaders for money, power and wealth.
Leaders for people… don’t kid yourself.

We’re looking at a future that has played out before.
We’re being driven against eachother because there’s so much profit in war.

Billions of lives that don’t matter at this billionaires table top!
Billions of cries that they enjoy like they’re listening to Mozart!

The world has gone crazy and this is our ride.
The world has gone crazy and soon they’ll be no place to hide.

although we’re from ego unchained
we’ve played out our role as ordained
intent’s pure and so we endure
blood that flows that soul be retrained

puddle

would I want to if I could
Jesus think of the heart ache
the life lived
I guess that's why I read it
in the end I just would rather
read it than have to live it

better to have loved and lost but
after sands melt away and those
embers smolder so too (if only
in a way to

steel away what turned out to be
tarnished silver) though all you end up
longing for
is peace with it and say when
that I cant only do what can be done.
It is done regardless

so now they say a survival tripped
hard wired faulty from their
somewhere a circuit breaker
too blown the fuses all failed
not even civil engineering…
isn't that nice

or good as they say in
‘the good life’ or so I’m
told never had much time
for dime store sci fi but
good I’ll take the short and high notes

wishing it played out like a jazz piano in the streets
slow moonlight swirls like mercury in the puddles on the ground
your one black boot
splashes into me
