Memories Coming By Candlelight - Minichu

the candle's haul —
blown from my lips on glass,
shearing fire falls

how the wick goes down,
left a shadow on smiling girl's cheeks from the frame,
picture played out now

stained
days
stay

the candle's haul —
left a shadow on smiling girl's cheeks from the frame,
stay

Did you ever get a win here? I think I have read and commented to all your poems. I could have sworn you had more than one page though. Am I wrong about that?

I find this form very difficult to do with exact rhymes. Your near rhymes are nice. Wonder if I will still have time to try this one

Especially love these two lines: how the wick goes down, left a shadow on smiling girl's cheeks from the frame…also, blown from my lips on glass… my perception is of cutting glass, a smile fading… much more descriptive then a smile to frown. Well done, dear Paige!

Missed reading you, Paige. Lovely imagery of candle and fire. How deeply you have loved. !! If you are perhaps submitting this one to the Minichu Contest, the first long line (12 syllables) need to be in stanza one. I think I remember this correctly. So double check. If not for contest, it is perfect. Xxx.

I didn't even know there was a contest for Minichus, thanks. I didn't plan on entering it - and I like the flow of it now. I am I guess eccentric, maybe should check and see what's out there more often. I just don't want to change the first line because I think it may read differently... <3 Love.
