Pitiless Poems

Pitiless

In between the days
and nights, a lot of people
grasping their breaths,

while the gangsters
are snitching with demon
eyes in the owl light.

as if nobody is in bed dying,
as if nobody is starving,
needing their empathy.

They’re heartless humans,
selfish as the fat fox.
Don’t know when they last.

The Pitiless Drosera

But lo! What creature to my clutches wings
Attracted by fallacious promises
And curious to taste my sweet delights?
My scarlet beauty fashioned to bewilder
Shall tantalize this unsuspecting prey
And cause the wretch to plunge into my depths.
I’ll suck him to a vortex of despair
And suffocate by my tenacious grasp,
Then ruthlessly eviscerate;
For by such means survival is procured.

( In case anyone is worried about my state of mind : 'Drosera', commonly known as the sundews, is one of the largest genera of carnivorous plants!)

Pitiless Power

Horrendous wind, driving rain,
this is the approaching hurricane.
They give them names these storms,
to make them like a woman scorned.
They drive across the oceans so wide,
gathering strength for the shores they collide.
Hitting the land like a hammer hits glass,
People hiding, waiting and hoping it will pass.
Boats in the harbors homes by the shore,
take all the hatred, it shakes to the core.
All smashed to oblivion as havoc is wreaked,
Then folk from their shelters start to creep,
To find if there's anything left to keep.
Homes demolished, cars beyond repair,
people can only show a look of despair.
Trying to salvage whatever they may,
from the devastation the storm left today.
They live in the path called hurricane alley.
Nowhere else to go so they hope for the best,
Next year the storms may give them a rest.

Pitiless

A lonesome night soon fades away
Into indifferent rays of daylight
Towards a shallow, dusty pathway
Of fear and twisted delight
The crystalline emotions flutter
Within a heart of stony fleck
The noises make me shutter
As I tread this lonely, ACHING trek
You whispered something in my ear
I was thinking all the while
The words I simply couldn't hear
As I tried to switch on a smile
The night keeps leaving its deathly lustre
All around my tortured soul
The courage I try to muster
Is never enough...NOTHING...I am dull
I am useless, I am master-less
I am helpless...and with the mask of happiness -

PITILESS.
