Craig Cornish"s In An Instant Contest. .27 Jan 25
.. A ghastly cadaver drops, for whose noble sake? To ravish the grandeur of wildlife In the thud of night; to mangle Mother Earth's gift and its life's intent Where each tender beast moves in a flow Linking a primal, fond tie with nature’s deities… But the affinity with innocent children, its tribe Snuffed with one ruthless bang in the forest When pitiless minds become delirious… heinous A giraffe, a leopard perishes without knowing The lithe body quickly turns into a gaunt shadow, How sudden. Just like that: unable to play with birds And race with own calf or cubs along an inlet... O hollow night, O lamp of silence drained By the vicious game from predators Lusting after power...just like that And no one can tell, for whose noble sake?

Nette, we do see killing in nature, which is really about survival. It's a different matter to kill for sport or just for some sick pleasure, and that's an unfortunate abuse of the natural order. We also kill creatures needlessly by destroying the environments they need to thrive. Your poem makes me think about all of this madness and makes me sad really. It's a beautiful piece I'm making a favorite.

When stewards become predators all of nature suffers. My heart aches with the suffering and loss that comes suddenly. Congratulations on your win! Blessings to you and for the eart we steward.

Greedy men comb the forests and plunder all wealth. They mercilessly kill animals to the point of making them extinct. Your earnest desire to preserve wildlife is greatly appreciated. If this is for a contest, all the best dear Nette.

Dear Nette, Oh, how your words ache with a raw, soulful plea, a cry for the voiceless. I am a huge fan of our animals that God place here on earth. You’ve painted loss so artistically, it’s impossible not to mourn. Winter Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Nette, what an excellent poem on the needless brutality that humans impose on nature and the devastating consequences of such acts. It emphasizes humanity's detachment from nature, as well as the loss of innocence and life as a result of greed and merciless actions.
