Body Hating....or loving?

I go back to Pinterest because why wouldn't I.
It's addictive and gives me something to do I won't even lie.
I scroll and click and scroll and click once more.
It's hard to put down because it keeps my mind in control.
There's rings, clothes, books, and most importantly help for me.
I can relate a little too much to some of the posts and that's key
For me to come back I need to want, to CRAVE the feed
Everyday I open it and everyday I feel my hate for myself grow and my love for Pinterest turn into need.
It makes me happy. I know it's confusing but that's where my heart settled
I lay in my bed looking at these people who I wish I was and I meddle
I meddle with my mind but also my body. But I can't be them and I never will be and I come to term
I've thought that I hate this app but I love it because it can be good, i've learned
It's fun, nice, addictive, and amazing just don't scroll too deep or you'll get beat
I've had too much experience diving too deep and that's a fact
But I just CAN'T stop going back!

my home outside of home

My home outside of home lies within the words
My best friend sends me at 10 o'clock at night
Their words grounding me to this earth
Better than gravity ever could

My home outside of home lies in music
That softens the tears in my eyes when
The world becomes waves
That will never not try to drown me

My home outside of home lies in an untitled document
Filled with words I will never find the courage
To say out loud

My home outside of home lies in Pinterest boards
And girls with waists so thin and faces so breathtaking
That the words my mom has told me since I was five--
"Beauty is supposed to come from within"--
Suddenly become words and nothing more

My home outside of home lies in the conversations
I have with my elder brother when the sky
Has been brushed with pinks and purples
And everything in between

My home outside of home reeks of toxicity
It has smothered me in so many coats of acid
My lungs don't even burn anymore

Premium Member My Five Hobbies

I have five hobbies that keep me freshly enthusiastic and alive.
Painting is incredible; when I get tired of it, I buy new paints.
I recently bought some gorgeous glitter paints.
That got me back into my art studio fast!

Another hobby I have is cartooning.
All of my paintings begin as cartoons.
I have been drawing since I was four.
When I tire of this, I turn to another hobby. I have four more.

My third hobby is word games. I play scrabble-like games every day.
Not for an hour, but between four and six hours.
I am completely excited about words.
Always have been.

Hobby number four is poetry.
I learned as many types of poetry as I could from www.poetrysoup.com
They tell you how to create every type – diminished hexaverse, senryu, haiku.
I use them as a reference.

If I am out of poem ideas I turn to one of my favorite websites.
www.pinterest.com which has marvelous pictures of a variety of things.
I find ten that I like and save them, writing down a name for each.
Then I create a poem for each of them. This also keeps me freshly enthusiastic!

Premium Member pampered princess pooch

purposefully politely prissily pampered was Princess
she luxuriated on fluffy faux fur bedding of white
her home was a former staple in every 1950’s home
a tv console refurbished specifically for this pampered pooch
she is as cocky as any spoiled dog, loving her safety nest
an idea we found on Pinterest and rapidly began to construct.

before voices stepped in

I can’t remember who I was,
before voices other than mine stepped in.

I think I wanted to be
a movie director, a script I read in kindergarten—
a line or two still hums when I dream.

I think I wanted to be
a fashion designer, my first sketches—
heels like daggers, dresses stitched with thunder.

I think I wanted to be
a writer, during math class in middle school—
a girl with powers, betrayed by her lover.

Now I tell people I want to be
a marketing executive, a product manager—
since when, I can’t remember.

Before voices other than mine stepped in,
I think, I think—

I wanted to be
the hand behind moving dreams.

An Invite isn't a Gesture to Change me

If I invite you into my home, please do not show up with the floor plan and Pinterest boards of your ideas to decorate it as you see fit.
I like the plants I have hung up and the rainbow catchers hung in the window. They bring in growth and sunshine.
And before you forget, make sure when you exit you lock the door behind you. Because I told you, this chair you brought with you, well it just does not fit.
So maybe next time, you can sit in the chair I gave you that already was here waiting for someone who could sit and not just stand by and visit.

Premium Member Political Blues

Bears and dogs and brain worms, oh my.
Made me want to vote for this guy!
DeSantis was always my go-to, first choice
Social conservatives’ only real voice.
But then Iowa had their damned little caucus
Infected us all with enterococcus.
Suddenly, RFK looked pretty good -
detailed his issues; knew where he stood.
On numerous planks, we didn’t agree,
But did so on several that mattered to me.
Nobody else even mentioned the debt,
much less declared it an imminent threat.
The border, free speech, and corporate capture;
If he’d been pro-life, I’d be fully enraptured.
Still, I was in, I was open, overt,
made a donation, and got me a shirt.
But then all the lawsuits, they got me distressed;
when he threw in with Trump, I was sorely depressed.
MAHA sounds nice, but would it really matter?
Love for a bit, but then all the chatter…
“Trump needs a mandate”, forget We The People
started to sound like the usual sheeple.
Something just died, and I lost all interest;
Now I watch YouTube, and I heard about Pinterest.
Deleted my twitter, turned off the news;
got me a case of political blues.

Goodbye December

We have waited (or we suffered),
depending on what you believe.
For this festive celebration,
everyone knows as New Year’s Eve.

We proclaim our good intentions,
of starting all over again.
As soon as the clock strikes midnight,
then those promises can begin.

But it is the nature of man,
that we will quickly lose interest.
To Google, Facebook and Twitter,
or Instagram and Pinterest.

By the time groundhog’s day is through,
our want to exercise is nil.
We’ll leave our empty promises,
hanging on the unused treadmill.

Premium Member Rainbow Heartbeat

Rainbow Heartbeat

Pour me a rainbow
let it float on the sea
As it flows from your heart
and become a part of me

Yellow to brighten
any cloudy day
As upon the waves
it effortlessly plays

Red born of desire
undulating motion
Salty on my tongue
a passionate potion

Yes, pour me a rainbow
let it float on the sea
As it flows from your heart
and becomes part of me

Blue as bright as the sky
a twin on the water
Twinkling refractions
Poseidon’s daughter

Green like in a garden
ripples tickle my feet
Liquid luxurious
a horizon to greet

Orange to tantalise
on waters once pale
Jack O'Lantern splendour
intertwining with whales

Let me savour your rainbow
as it floats on the sea
Flowing from your heart
becoming part of me

Indigo intuition
free flowing crystal clear
Your gift upon the sea
that draws me near

Violet imagination
A vision complete
Oceans of possibilities
Your rainbow heartbeat.

When I Say I'M Fine

It doesn't mean
I have the sun rise in my hands
and have it set under my feet;
or that I control the hands of time.

I say it not,
because it's short and sweet
and can comfort my difficult emotions;
or that all my swings are solutions.

I don't say I'm fine
because I am ashamed
of my circumstance
or afraid of anyone's verdict
for instance.

I grew up in hell
where I was taught, in my shell
to deal with difficulties
even before I was hatched

I traded happiness for sadness
chose trouble over calmness,
sanity over madness
later for now.

I say I'm fine
because I know
 this is just the start
for a fulfilling past:
my journey has not come to an end

I'm happier with myself
because the more I live
I know — the more I'll narrow my scope
for I have faith in hope.

I say I'm fine
because I spend more time
on things that add value
not on things I should value.

I say I'm fine
because I believe
I'll be fine.

O' Heaven Hear My Cry

The river struck nearby my ears,
A Lightning hit excites my fears,
Feeling blames worth; I am the one,
Holy Ghost, forgive Father, Son,

O' thunder's rain runs over me,
Soaked to my bones, mentality,
Shrinking holding as waters run,
Holy Ghost, forgive Father, Son,

I sensed myself fully immersed,
My innards feel as a cloudburst,
Bearing a shift-hitting homerun,
Holy Ghost, forgive Father, Son,

As tears drop freely, express I,
Heart's living water, confess I,
Water stain on my face well done,
Holy Ghost, forgave Father, Son,

Premium Member Flower In the Rain

After a long ride in the train,
he alights in the rain delighted,
gets drenched, but can’t wait,
for he has been quite late already.
With flower posy in shower spray,
to wish her happy birthday he runs.
