Goodbye December

We have waited (or we suffered), depending on what you believe. For this festive celebration, everyone knows as New Year’s Eve. We proclaim our good intentions, of starting all over again. As soon as the clock strikes midnight, then those promises can begin. But it is the nature of man, that we will quickly lose interest. To Google, Facebook and Twitter, or Instagram and Pinterest. By the time groundhog’s day is through, our want to exercise is nil. We’ll leave our empty promises, hanging on the unused treadmill.

That is how it goes most years, Jerry. But we keep trying. Have a great week, my friend. Bill

My son and I have been walking 5 miles a day for almost three months now. The treadmill is up and ready for when the snow falls.

I probably have the world's shortest attention span of all. So, my philosophy is to set a lot of resolutions so my odds of completing at least one increase.

Your poem humorously captures the universal experience of making New Year's resolutions and how quickly they can be forgotten. The mention of social media and the treadmill adds a delightful touch of reality...

I've found that most humans have a very short attention span and mine is probably shorter than any.
