I sit in the back corner of a dark musty warehouse now
Discarded, forgotten, despised, unwelcome, bereft.
No one has been in this place for at least sixty years.
Once upon a time in my heyday I was revered and petted.
Children squealed with delight as they approached.
They laughed and giggled and chuckled about my candies.
Fat women covertly looked both ways before approaching.
They loved my offerings but did not want everyone to see them.
Milk chocolate! They said with a sigh, as they gulped my candies.
Skinny men whose wives had them on diets approached with a skip.
They fairly hopped away, with the enthusiasm of their youth.
These memories keep me happy as I sit here in this dark dungeon.
Inspired by a paperclip, the pen began to write
The clip danced a mean tango with a errant fork.
They were showing the room the time of their lives
When stapler began to click-clack, vying for attention
How do you do that without a hand? I asked stapler.
Sassy stapler smiled, thrilled he had gotten my attention.
It was a fantastic day in the land of the desk top.
We were enjoying the comforting click of the clock.
Then everyone began shouting and shrieking at once.
Seconds before the hand tossed over a large chocolate milk
Spoiling the mood of two notebooks and a wedding invitation.
I snickered at the invite’s distress; she had been gloating.
They brought me home in a plastic bag
The whiteness of it nearly made me gag.
I was optimistic when they took me out.
But then a woman began to shout.
Why would you bring me this kind of junk?
I got re-bagged and thrown in a trunk.
Trunk got hot and I melted so badly.
This is no way to treat milk chocolate candy!
One person bands will only ever have two hands,
And a brain held together by rubber bands,
That can snap when followers make too many demands.
How can we expect anything but royal stuff ups?
With so many daily close ups,
With no time to do press-ups,
Before the follow-ups.
How can one size fit all,
When the one holding the only ball,
Is afraid to tell all,
The thoughts that will cause them to fall,
Letting another one person band control the ball.
A one-person band in a world where bigger bands,
With more hands can deliver sweeter sounds,
Throughout the lands,
So fewer people need have blood on their hands,
With trigger fingers receiving a new set of demands,
Makes no sense to those in the stands.
When one-person bands,
No longer work without backup plans,
To shift demands into more hands,
Attached to brains with less demands,
Held together by more than just rubber bands,
The difference will surely be felt in the stands.
Chocolate,
it's been a rocky road
deliciously swirled
in mouth
a delectable treat
quickly melting within the heat
a bite teased, aimed to please
more than sex appealed
WHIPPED creamed
caramel covered
BANANAS
shimmering glass beads
spooned and licked clean
in the moonlight
a midnight dance
cumulating into the kitchen
the night young
as we
indulging
overwhelming the senses
our needs
it's more than just vanilla
to me
Hopping for donuts
I landed in wet crumbs.
I get chocolate frosting on my left shoe.
They throw me a bit of a roll,
Restaurant’s special item.
I hop to catch it, land on my right wing.
Silly robin! Someone says.
They laugh at me in a nasty, mean way,
So I fly off with their roll in my beak.

Everything
I am Creamy Chocolate
I am Milky White,
I am Yellow, Red,
all colors in between,
at dusk I am the Night.
I am Apples, Oranges,
Peaches, Pears,
Sweet and Sour to the taste,
I am Everything
you want me to be,
come on, it's getting late.
I am Angelic,
I am Tempting,
and in temptation, Sublime.
Untouched for eons,
spanning all barriers of time.
Come along with me,
this night shall last forever,
I am everything you want me to be,
I am Forever and Ever.
With my
dark brown
velvety
chocolaty
eyes
I am melting your heart
well that’s a good start
As I draw you within
I am calming your soul
watching you
trusting you
falling in love with you
Please take me home
do not leave me alone
I beg don’t resist
as your heartstrings I twist
with my
dark brown
velvety
chocolaty
eyes
Tis me
your very own

FIRST PLACE
The rushing wonts of action render these happenings unmovable,
These feelings, passionately felt, to dull words ill and strained
She clings, my koala, with chocolate eyes pining for my green
Though each time she lets me go, she leaves me docile and pained
Once before I claimed her; yes, she did not turn away from me
But instead gazed on how the breeze could sway my branches
I wanted my bark to secrete the sweetest tears,
So she would know how eternally I yearn for her glances
For it is she alone, who can consume and digest my poisons
It is she alone—besides the sun—who gives me reason to stand erect
(a poem a deux)
The Oreo is there.
Out of sight, it calls to me.
Oreo: Love! Come to me. Pleasure awaits.
Me: No. Will power! I will not succumb.
Oreo: Think of chocolate...tongue-lingering, senses-reeling, so appealing...
Me: I am stronger than chocolate.
Oreo: Beneath the surface lies cream. Pure, unadulterated cream.
Me: I have a new book to read.
Oreo: Love, be reasonable. You know you want me.
Me: I don't.
Oreo: You do.
Me: Don't.
Oreo: Do.
Me: Don't.
Oreo: Do.
Me: Don't, don't, don't!
(pause)
Oreo: (seductively) Milk.
Me: (groan)
Oreo: I adore bathing in milk. It makes me so soft, so vulnerable, so wet.
Me: No! Not there. Don't touch me there!
Oreo: A veritable orgy of ecstasy in your mouth.
Me: O stop! Don't! Stop. Don't---stop---don't---stop---don't stop.
Oreo: My love!
Me: Wait for me, I'm coming. O God, I'm coming!
I knew this day would come
When I'd lose you from my sight
I won't be able to devour you
I'll miss that scrumptious bite
Seems everyday you were there for me
You were my afternoon delight
So rich, nutty, and delicious
I should have held you tight
I feel so down without you
My senses are getting numb
You gave me such a pick me up
To your pleasure I'd succumb
I see you through the window
With my sad and longing eyes
I crave just one taste of you
Can't you hear my heartfelt cries
This machine wont take my quarters
I've tried again and again
I need you, my snickers bar
Anyone got change for a ten
Just one look at you and my pupils dilate
I caress you with my fingertips and stroke you gently
I hold you in my hands and undress you slowly
I lick my lips and wish you were in my mouth
You arouse me with your scintillating scent
Dark, rich and smooth as silk
Oh how I want you
Simply cannot fight off this desire any longer
I need you urgently
Guess I better eat my bar of plain chocolate

From the moment I first saw you
I knew that I was in love
God must have sent you
Straight from up above
With shear perfection He molded
Ten perfect little fingers and ten little toes
Chocolate into your eyes He folded and
Topped it off with a perfect little nose
As I have watched you blossom
Into the young woman that you are
I think it is so awesome
That you have come so far
So on this your special day
I wish you all the best
For years ago this was my happiest day
The day that I was blessed
My thoughts are fluid
Gushing rivers of rhyme and reason
Winds of change and a variety of seasons
Dreams and emotions
A journey on streams to oceans
My views are a snapshot of the universe around me
Deep within my psyche I see
Lazuline skies
And gold dust butterflies
Whisking rushes of the night stars
Tree trunks the shade of chocolate bars
The music of earth settling in the for day
The morning hush, the scent of a spring bouquet
I feel blessed for the humanity I feel
A gift from God I love to reveal
And he is with me during my sorrow and my rejoice
He is silent,
But I listen, and hear his voice
It looks like a beer mug
maybe one from St. Patrick's Day
I keep it in a special spot
so I'll always know where it is.
It loves to go for a spin
in my little microwave
holding a green tea bag
brewing me something healthy.
Sometimes it takes a break
opting for hot chocolate instead
though it really hates this
when I have to scrub it clean.
Coffee isn't so bad to it
taking many a day to build up
enough for me to deep clean it
with more than a gentle rinse.
My mug and I spend many a day
sitting by our computer
working on verses together
it keeping my drinks warm.
