He tried
but for him
speech did not
come easily,
the parrot had a stutter
starting with a sputter --
tripped over
every third word
sounding quite absurd
the clipped-wing bird;
his flight, as well,
a jump and a fell --
a monumental flop,
every spring
followed by a plop...
and Boots, the penthouse cat
a bit of a louse
absent a mouse
terrorizes Carrot~ the penthouse
parrot --
poor Boots, dreams of woods
feline hunts and captures
kept from the wild
chooses poor Carrot
for his daily, stalking raptures --

it has been a long time since you've seen me
you wonder if i can still write with my left hand
you looked for me on the beach side
all you found was a pair of pants with empty pockets
you searched for me on the sound side
all you could find was a couple of used up pens and some badly damaged pads
the footprints have been all washed up
the cell phone has been abandoned and badly damaged by the elements
you do not notice me on the balcony of the penthouse suite watching you search for me
you do not discover me me waving at you as you look around with sad and brokenhearted confusion
if i give you more creations to entertain the passion's palate, would you yearn for more if i pointed to the right
will you see me again
Here on the verge
Where touch greets urge
Let joy now merge
Watch as time tells
How grand thoughts dwell
Fine touch that spells
See how space chimes
In plain clear rhymes
The cause of time
Sense penthouse thoughts
That fling fond lot
In fragrant spot
Tea for two here
With plain good cheer
Of feel most clear
Watch the sun slide
As moments glide
On this calm ride
Feel windy rain
Cause chilly strains
On window panes
Time brings endow
We sit here now
Wonder streams how
The feel is good
In charming mood
With thought for food
Rows and rows here
Of books spark clear
Fond easy cheer
So much to age
In printed page
In wholesome wage
Here dwells fond show
We come and go
Sync with fine flow
When price is paid
In grooves now laid
Feel joy's warm braid
Here in due time
Grand reasons rhyme
As chimes move mimes

The day
Ventures a quest
Joy pays
A deep fond zest
The way
Juggles a touch
Love say
A lot as such
The fest
Prompts humour here
Deep zest
Greets bounty dear
The ride
To penthouse gaze
Sifts pride
In poignant craze
The pact
Of lovely times
Funds act
That squeeze bold rhymes
The state
Of fragrant feel
Through gates
Where aura heals
The mind
In peace of heart
You find
In grace that starts
The heart
Finds grace to be
Wise art
That you now see
The voice
Of cheer that sings
As choice
Sparks lively things
The night
Knows peace that dwells
Deep sights
Of precious spells

Waves of blue extend as far as the eye can see
raising high above the leafless treetops I dwell
a turquoise statue rests in the parkway
broken kneecaps and fingers but I don't know who
is attributed this honor dressed in flags of red
I close my eyes and imagine the battle scar
at Fort Sheridan where settlers dreams came true
A black bird glides down upon this glory
the sun starts shining through the clouds
and my thoughts wander to visions of you
penthouse in the sky
urban heaven on one floor
long way to look down
Glimpse poignant feel where truth now writes,
Rich dream sums clear blessings of gain;
Apt thoughts now thrill grand feel we cite,
Note profound cheer that streams most plain;
Dance with fond steps as ripples swirl,
Play of wise thought frames mindset bold;
Endow mind map with your own world;
Niche hidden plot in hot and cold,
Time flavours rhymes in chimes of grace;
Hurl sensuous theme with sanguine sense,
Opt in sure time the cast you face;
Urge on sure scheme in vivid tense,
Success knows when to show and tell,
Engulf grand flow where rapture dwells.

Family moved from cities grace,
to a quaint country home.
Along he went, the penthouse cat
always did carpet roam.
A place unlike apartment life,
what was a cat to do?
New sights and smells, walk in the grass,
bright sun and sky so blue.
Kitchen bound for a midnight snack,
kibbles and bits in mind.
What shock, another there to feast
he didn't expect to find.
“And who do you happen to be?”
questioned the penthouse cat.
Giving a glare, the kitchen guest
did freeze right where he sat.
“Oh, I'm just a little house mouse,
innocent as can be.
I'm just a friendly passerby,
nothing to fear from me.”
“I'll never scare your family,
so quiet are my paws.”
The penthouse cat jumped on the pest,
held tight in his sharp claws.
“Oh please kind cat I'll leave this house,
if you'll just set me free.”
“I'm no fool, you're a nasty rat,
I watch lots of TV.”

Out in the open
on a very tall pole,
sunk into cement -
an expensive birdhouse,
designed for Purple Martins.
Mister Bluebird sits
atop the house,
guarding, watching,
while his lady works,
building her nest.
His presence causes
the Purple Martins
to pass on by, seeking
another place to build.
Twelve compartments,
eleven of them empty
except for wisps of straw
placed in each, warning -
this house is taken!
Her blossoms unfolding their love's, midnight petals...
Capturing my heart; gently, turning over as she removing
Silk sheets from her beauty's nakedness; dry sweet perfume
Her fragrant strawberry cream, still clinging to her velvet thighs
Rose garden an afterflow, while she dreamnt; calling out my name
In her sleep fluttering long lashes, lovely, and all I could do was smile
Kissing lovingly her pearl white cheeks these, soft vanilla traces between.
This boom and bust economy
can take us to extremes,
raise interest rates one quarter point
and see who yells and screams.
Courage is required
when times get mean and hard,
like when a primitive restaurant
won’t take your credit card.
Financial ruin can beckon
to make one squirm and whine,
when Dow Jones takes a tumble
and portfolios are in decline.
Privation looms with losses
emotions saw and whip,
investments shrink a fraction
causing capitol gains to dip.
Trade in a new Mercedes
for merely a Cadillac,
what will people think of you
when they see you driving that?
The tension of the market
never eases or relaxes,
‘cause if Democrats get elected
you might even pay some taxes!
The perils of investing
can lead to loss or gain,
put your trust fund on the line
to play the money game.
