Tough, but ever hip,
Our Miss Patience said,
"You all never tip,"
"So, patience is dead."
"Here's some more bad news,"
"You all leave a mess."
"Got grease on my shoes,"
"And stains on my dress."
"Then, when my day ends,"
"And finally get home,"
"My family and friends,"
"Can smell me from Gnome!"
"No more free coffee,"
"And no more free swill,"
"No more sweet toffee,"
"Best just pay your bill."
"Don't like my new rule?"
"Go elsewhere to eat."
"I'll sit by the pool,"
"And put up my feet!"
"Light up a big spliff,"
"Then, when in the mood,"
"I'll take a big whiff,"
"And eat my own food!"
Cocooned no longer
delicate yet stronger
your beauty will astound
as you fly above the ground
Surrendering to fate
freedom worth the wait.
Patience is a virtue someone once said
But sometimes I wonder if I'll be patiently dead
There's a limit I'm sure
The anticipation I can endure
I'm a sitting here waiting for what lies just ahead

Patience is a virtue and patience I have
So call me a virtuous soul
No matter how long I must wait for you
I'm prepared to accept my role
Goals that are lofty and seem out of reach
Need much perseverance and luck
Determination is what will always succeed
Let 'em know who's driving the truck
Things that appear to be worth the wait
Deserve more patience than others
Like the love of a lady you've dreamed about
Forever you'll wait you'll discover
Patience is a virtue and patience I've had
As far back as I can remember
Way way back when I was just a toddler
Waiting for the 25th of December
Patience is a virtue, there's really no doubt
Things can seem really quite distant
A fact young mother's should teach their kids
Not everything happens in a instant

Did you ever sit and wait
To hear from someone you just hate
You have no choice
Where's their letter
Their fat check can make you better
If someone just controls your fate
Don't get angry if they're late
Just breathe in slowly
Let it out
A smile to all
Don't ever pout
And when the cash comes to your door
Just be nice
Forget you're sore
Just say thanks
Like once before
So what's the moral of this tale
You waited daily for the mail
No more stomping on the floor
Just take the bucks
You don't need more
Don't have to sit and frown
Just laugh inside
You won the crown
Soon it's time to pack and go
No being nice
No eating crow
Just drop them all
And close the show
You might even win a Tony
For being such a real phony
The safety of a rose with a dozen of choices,
Why stand still and let the love waters get frozen?
When you snooze you lose, your move is like chess it doesn't prosper the fools,
Waiting to long you'll grow old sharing your blues,
Since communication rules the nation we're born to die but not miserable
Your hesitation will only lead to frustration,
Patience is your virtue
Patience is a virtue they say
When trying to lose some weight
Rome wasn't built in a day you known
So have that wee piece of cake
Slow and steady should be a motto
To remember as you struggle each day
There's no substitute for dedication
Just keep at it come what may
Eventually you'll see some progress
Your feelings inside will explode
Singing a song and clicking your heels
But be sure you don't overload
You've still got a lot of years ahead
Make sure they're happy and free
Free from the scourge of too many pounds
And you'll get down to 303!
patience is a virtue that's what they often say
but why is it that people can't seem to change their ways
always looking for love in all the wrong places
hoping for a true commitment from lying faces
unwilling or incapable of just waiting for God
and to only wind up with bruised and broken hearts
we want what we want and we want it fast
but it's the slow and steady that ultimately lasts
desiring riches and fame but not willing to do what it takes
thinking their entitled just for their own sake
nothing is promised and there's only one guarantee in life
and that's the unconditional love and patience of the Lord Jesus Christ
