Premium MemberVoices Fall Silent as Long Time Passes

ashes drift through streets
foundations crack into dust
false tongues guide the crowd
we watch as the pillars fall
we're silent heirs to ruin

shouts of protest fade
pleas for change lost in the void
swallowed by neglect
travesties parade as law
complacency rains on guilt

even those prepared
trained to weather storms and fire
find their tools undone
in a tide that won't recede
against headlong climate change

cry for children's sake
their innocence locked in halls
their hope dims and fades
as our shadows fall on them
darkening their fragile plight

worsening within
erosion of soul and will
the mirror grows dim
our humanity watches
complacent letting self fade

where have voices gone
we long for them in passing
we ask but can't sing
we pick flowers to fill graves
we never learn time's passing

where have our blooms gone
onto graves we keep digging—
questions circle back
who is there to sow not weep
who will plant flowers in spring

Premium MemberAs Time Passes

As time passes there is also a change in view
You don't do the same things that you used to do
You learn from your mistakes as you mature
You seem to learn patience as you endure
Things don't hurt you the way that they used to
You're leaning on a higher source just to get through
Remember to allow the time to heal all pain
Because failures keeps you from remaining the same
Allowing time to pass is what helps you to grow
Making bad decisions is the only way you will know
People you deal with help you learn life's lessons
As time passes you will see the greater blessings
Humility would always be needed as you're learning
Teaching you to slow down and always be discerning
As you get older you start to see a greater you
As time passes you learn what and what not to do..

Grab it Before it Passes

Tonight this full moon shines down,
flooding my mind with old memories,
of the way I used to be when
I was younger, wilder,
and free.

I know I can’t go back
and try to find those youthful days
that now haunt my mind
but I have no regrets of anything
that I might have left behind.

Age demanded a high cost
and some of those things
I hoped to keep, got lost
in the mix when my years began
to fade away.

So don’t let your hopes go up in smoke
never treat life like it’s a joke
slow down and take the time to live
in the here and now.
Forget and
Forgive.

You will never have another chance
to pass this way again

Premium MemberLive In Each Season As It Passes

 Inspired by Henry David Thoreau

Live In Each Season As It Passes, For nothing is ever so sure
Only that time is fleeting, and Death is never too far
Breathe the Air for to Breathe is to live
Drink the Drink for time it slips,
Taste the fruit for here and now is all there is
Resign Yourself and be Influenced by a life of Bliss

Premium MemberAnother Storm Passes By

Another storm we are both going through
Darling I'll always walk the storms with you
It is you who has to bear all the pain
i pray for you to become well again.

I will love you always, as you love me
And care for you through each stormy frenzy
The sun will shine again on the morrow
Taking away the strain and the sorrow.

As long as we are guided by the Light
That shines in our hearts by day and by night
We shall be kept safe in our dear Lords care
And there’ll be an answer to my prayer.

Daydreaming

White clouds float on a navy sky
like sails unfurled.
Warm breeze caresses my face
like a gentle kiss.
My body relaxed on green grass
like a soft mattress.
Tranquil thoughts flood my mind
like a lazy flowing river.
Babbling brook soothes my soul
like a mellow tune.
Lips curl back in a small smile
as my unhurried day passes by.

Premium MemberLife Passes Like A Ghost Ship

Life Passes Like A Ghost Ship, Adrift, Amidst the Mists Of Time
and Whisks back into the Ether of Everlasting Light,
Slipping Through the Fray of Death and Dust
to bring back the Wisdom from Above,
though the ticking drifts and shifts the Hourglass
Nothing Is Lost, All Is Eternal in the Aftermath
Into the Mists of the Seas Of Life
where the Infinite intertwines with the Finite,
and brings back to Shore the Keys Of Mastery
 Conquering the Illusions of Duality,
and the Sacred Rises above The Beyond, As ONE
and sets upon The Graveyard Of Broken Ships, As The SUN

Premium MemberTime Passes By So Slowly

Be prepared all you young'uns
The golden years aren't always golden
Looking ahead when I was younger
Thought, “what a fantastic notion”

Life would be a blast lounging around
Enjoying my life at its best
Sorry to have to burst your bubble
Coz here comes the real test

You wake up early each morning
Ready for come what may
But it isn't too long before you realize
You have no plans per say

Suddenly you've become very aware
You're not needed the way you once were
You still have so much to offer
But life has passed you by in a whirr

The hardest thing for you to get used to
The fact you're no longer the star
The world is still singing and motoring along
But you're not driving the car

So be prepared all you young'uns
The golden years aren't that golden
Enjoy life before the inevitable happens
When time passes by in slow motion

Premium MemberHurricane Lee

They say we’ll get a hurricane,
that they’re calling hurricane Lee.
Probably later this week,
and it’s a category 9 at least.

Some are saying prayers, but I say:
Why’s God sending it here?
Someone must be sinning a LOT.
Hey, don’t look at me - I’m not.

You’d think that would affect our classes,
that maybe we’d get hazzard passes,
for assignments that are due,
but nope, it isn’t true.

“I don’t want to hear excuses,”
my chem professor said,
“the only acceptable excuse is,
that you’re dead.”

Thus Passes By the Glory of the World

Relics, relics sad and lone,
Cromwell's head and a single bone
that William the Conqueror left on earth
prove today of petty worth.
Oh that now those proud in power
knew the shortness of their hour.

Premium MemberPeace That Passes Understanding

Peace

That passes

Understanding..

The end

Of searching

Apparently..

This story

Of many

Engaged for

Days or years..

Searching for

The end of

Understanding

Which may

Simultaneously

Appear as

Peace...

Premium MemberThe Storm Passes

The storm has worn itself out
leaving downed trees and flooded streets,
while the fullness of the moon
has clothed itself in a ring
of cloud induced rainbows.

Premium MemberThe Darkness Passes So Comes the Light-

Passions flow until the night
Discarded seasons turmoil causes strife
Barely behaving temperatures low
The darkness has no place to go
Then comes the light shining bright
The light so shine this night
