Grab it Before it Passes
Tonight this full moon shines down,
flooding my mind with old memories,
of the way I used to be when
I was younger, wilder,
and free.
I know I can’t go back
and try to find those youthful days
that now haunt my mind
but I have no regrets of anything
that I might have left behind.
Age demanded a high cost
and some of those things
I hoped to keep, got lost
in the mix when my years began
to fade away.
So don’t let your hopes go up in smoke
never treat life like it’s a joke
slow down and take the time to live
in the here and now.
Forget and
Forgive.
You will never have another chance
to pass this way again
