HE CAPTIVATES ME
Mesmerized
by his intelligence,
like mother nature phenomena
Ingenious
Maestro of opera,
music, like nature transforms seasons
Versatile
Musical instruments
he plays, like nature changes weather.
Masterful
teaching music classes,
as how nature shows picturesque views

Bedazzled
by the beauty of night,
you gaze at trillions of twinkling stars.
Mesmerized,
you commute with the stars,
feeling like you’re connected somehow.
Overwhelmed,
the sanctity of space
encompasses you, body, and soul.
Miracles
are rarely in plain sight,
with one exception; the universe.

Envious
of your overt beauty,
Venus hides her face amongst the stars
Ascending
night's ebony mountain,
Luna's light pales next to your aura
Retreating
shadows morph into night,
the universe twinkling in your eyes
Exquisite
as any masterpiece,
God made you perfect in every way

tender touch
magnetic heat rising
all sheaths of consciousness now aflame
purring bliss
love electricity
teleports us to heightened rapture
lower mind
melds with the glowing heart
the universe too sings with delight
joy replete
no doing to be done
dance of love and light in renewal

Musical,
like a thousand wild birds;
singing in a green forest joyful.
Heavenly,
like a red rose blooming;
in the dripping dawn of a new day.
Elegant,
like the towering trees;
along a forest path in the shade.
Beautiful,
like a sunset falling;
like all the bright stars twinkling above.

shape up said the circle to the square
you’re a bit rough around the edges
far too closed in for comfort and joy
I can’t help it I’m all full of angles
right ones and wrong perspectives
constant rectangular doom so to speak
look at me I am a ring of fire and passion
diametrically sound complete at the centre
rounded and packed with infinite promise
you’ve no beginning unaware of the start
state you’re a wheel in perpetual motion
while I am grounded and sure of myself
no such thing for you are rigid and static
unsure where you’re going if moving at all
condemned to inflexible and taut stiffness
and so they squabbled from angry premises
valid arguments and debatable conclusions
righteous and unbending in their opposition
until an ellipse and parallelogram came along
change needs shifting paradigms under pressure
the square opened and jumped into the circle
anchored tangents perimeter and firm compromise
let us please wed our disadvantages and strength
no contradiction but complementing each other
Pythagoras meets Sisyphus and they applaud

you and i were the 'good kids'
only spoke when spoken to
never picked a fight
didn't color outside the lines
later we learned that they
were sifting through all our art
ascertaining who lay on the
extremities of the bell curve
who might have a troubled home life
and/or
who might have an aptitude for fine art
... we were somewhere in the middle
fast forward thirty years or so...
we discovered a magic quill
that served as a machete
clearing out the underbrush
of this dense jungle we call
life
we learned to think outside
the quadrilateral parallelogram
and found the outer rim
of that bell curve
we no longer raised our hands
waiting to be called on
we delved deep and found
a singular
phenomenon
inside us -
our voice

I have fun with the world of geometry
The square, the rectangle and the parallelogram
Oh' the trapezoid and the rhombus
The triangles, the isosceles and the equilateral
All are a great happy family together
The circles and ellipses are closely related
The formulas of geometry try to memorize
The areas and circumferences
The diagonals and angles
Learn the trigonometric functions
You discover a new world
The sines and cosines
The tangents and arc tangents
If all this is not enough to entice you
Hopefully and much soon you probably
will fall in love with world of geometry

Que Dices, Sarah?
No wooden-cross
parachute deployment awaits
where we held
not one another
but separate breaths
that lit the candle
which ushered in darkness
the only kept
promise our broken
home still fixates.
How do we square
this parallelogram,
hmm, Lassie?
Or is it simply a case of
que sera, sera, Sarah?

floats 'pon upper air currents.....
jet exhaust
I saw a perfect parallelogram
in the sky yesterday coming
back from the eye surgeon..
(Not me this time my husband.)'
Those jet seem to pass so close
I don't see how they don't
collide..

Headwaters,
Of the world’s flowing souls,
Cresting to flight and misting rainbows.
Everyone.
Searching for another.
To endure sacrifices behold,
Cascading
Heart’s ladles dip into
Basins of memories in plunge pools.
Waterfalls,
From the rapids of youth,
To the flat waters of golden years

Form: Verse : Parallelogram de Crystalline
11.02.14
----------------------------------------------
Received an NA in the above contest.
Entered in Edward Ebbs's contest: Only for those NA's on 01.23.16
The contest calls for an explanation of what the poem means to the author:
This poem is a summary of life.
Headwaters=birth,
Cresting=growing up,
misting=your effect on others and the world,
'searching for another'=could be spouse, money, God, or just yourself, etc,
Sacrifices=what you traded for what you wanted,
cascading=life, time goes by so fast
Once you reach old age, hopefully your waters are calm (flat), and not still turbulent or made turbulent due to regret from choices and the trades you made in youth.

We dared meet
in clandestine disguise
behind an overlay of water
Secreted
from watchful eyes peering
amid crystalline dancing droplets
Our first kiss
concealed from lurking eyes
extracting jewels of youthful joy
Rainbow arks,
captured floating crowning’s,
appearing and captivating gems

Once I tried
to embrace a cascade
A steep descent of a slim river
With a soft
regalia of steps
but she sprinkled scantily on me
But I was
aroused, flushed and reddened.
Enjoying her warm and soft impact
Before she
became a cataract
with strong undercurrents and deep holes.

From high up
The rushing water leaps
A daring dive into the unknown.
Unrestrained
It tumbles down, eyes closed
Savouring the adrenalin rush
Of bold youth;
It flows in breathless flight
Crystalline streaks of exuberance.
Deafening
The roar of fulfilment
As waters meet and avidly merge.
